Battery was drained to zero, went to charge, and the charging LED indicator wont come on.
Left plugged in wall charger for an hour to charge, unplugged and tried to turn on, no response other than twice blinking of red LED.
When plugged in, whenever i press the power button, red LED turns and stay on until i let go of power button.

Im not very tech savy, i just need this fixed asap.

In many of the threads about this the solution that seems to work is to leave the phone on charge overnight (In some cases up to 24 Hours) and then it will start to charge again.

Thanks, I'll try to keep it for a day charging.

[Q] battery drain boot loop

Hi,
I've experienced this 3 times as of now. My phone is always on stamina mode. with a stock, rooted and locked bootloader 4.3 [.266] rom.
I got the triple nandroid back ups (i think they are CWM, TWRP, TWRP touch, but can't tell for sure).
Whenever my phone got drained because i can't find a place to charge it, I can't charge it afterwards.
Even if I leave it in the charger for a day, it still won't charge.
What I get is a red LED light. I tried everything, and somehow, after doing all of the thing for about 2 days, it gets working again. I just want to know if there is a tested solution to this. Here are the scenarios:
1.)
>> battery drained (unit turned off)
>> use wall charger to charge it
>> turns on, but in constant boot loop (with the moving colors boot animation on the screen)
>> take it off the charger
>> reset if with the reset button on the back
>> WON'T go in boot loop, but instead, I get a blank screen with the red LED light of death
2.)
>> battery drained (unit turned off)
>> use wall charger to charge it
>> screen is blank, with red LED light of death
Some insights:
Mind you, I tried everything I could think of just to get into recovery mode (hold button volume up/down or camera, with or without power button), since when I'm in recovery mode, I can leave it there and it WILL charge.
I tried to connect it to the PC to know if there are any difference, I open FLASHTOOL so i can see what is happening.
>> upon connecting to the usb, the device is detected. LED turns on. LED light is red (bright)
>> after half a second, the device is disconnected. Simultaneously, the LED turns off for a split second and turns back on with a red LED light (dimmer than before)
I tried to leave it for hours on charger while RLLOD(red LED light of death). So normally, the battery should be full right? WRONG!!
>> after pulling the device off the charger, THE RLLOD PERSISTS!!! I wait for about 10 minutes or more so that the device will turn fully of (no RLLOD). So it gives me the impression that the battery is not charged AT ALL.
>> using the reset button on the back (hold it down for more than a minute) DOESN'T do anything (when RLLOD is up and device is pulled out of charger). it should turn off but it doesn't. ,,|,,
>> so in the end, I have to waint until RLLOD dies down.
The xperia sp, when fully drained and won't even go in the starting boot sequence. If you try to turn it on (by using power button), it will just give you 2 quick RED LED pulses, and nothing will happen. Here is a curious case when charging it with PC:
>> When pulled out from charger (in RLLOD), and after waiting for the RLLOD to die down, flashtool (or the PC itself) won't detect the device if connected IF you didn't try to turn it on (of curse the 2 red pulses will happen) PRIOR to connecting it to PC (so: disconnect > try to turn on > reconnect to PC).
There might be things I forgot to include, please ask for more details, I just really want this to go away.:crying::crying:
Offline charging doesn't work when CWM is installed. (would appreciate if any1 knows if there's a way to get it working?) btw chargemon is the file you need for offline charging.

In my understanding, you can stil charge your battery regardless whether offline charging is enabled or not... anyone?
You probably should read the threads and use the search.
I had same problem. Just flash DooM kernel via fastboot. I will link post in a moment.

If you have recoveries installed just pug the charger and enter one recovery and leave it charge until 10%, then reboot
thank you

Hi antkalaitzakis96
This is exactly what I'm trying to do on my xperia sp. On cyanogenmod 11 by FXP, and no idea how to enter recovery on it to let my phone charge. Tried posting there to ask, but XDA won't let newbies post in Dev forum.
Can anyone please advise?? Greatly appreciated
Guys, my phone is now on =)
I just do the things as before, I trried and tried to no avail, so I gave up.. I just let it on the charger, and after sleeping, It is now on =)... but still, there should be some definitive solution to this,..
I had exactly the same problem as you guys. Letting it plugged in all night didn't help so this morning I plugged it in my computer hoping to connect in fastboot mode and on the 3rd it worked. I flashed NayakKernelv0.3 so I could enter CWM using volume buttom. My phone is now charging in cwm.

yup.. post it please. upon reading here, I'm fairly sure that there are definitive way to bring back offline charging on 12.1.A.1.201 stock root LB. So it would be really helpful if we can bring back offline charging or at least be able to charge even after battery is drained flat. =)

[Q] encountered the infamous sudden death, would a new battery fix my problems?

so phone suddenly decided to stop charging, when it went to 0, it never turned on again
had a red led at first then nothing, if i buy a new battery will it be fixed or is it a problem bigger than that?
thanks in advance
Well, it seems that you have a charging issue, and not a battery issue.
I'd say you better take it to Sony Service Center if possible, or try to charge it with dock if you have one around.
Good luck!

ive used a magnetic charger and the microusb charger, neither of them do anything so i thought it would be a battery problem
No its not .If You drained your battery to 0% it make take some time to charge ,Just leave it charged maybe an hour or so even if the red light is not showing .After an Hour it will show up .

yes i have, does it constitute as a battery problem yet? haha
update: oh sh*t, it might because i used a new wire rather than the advice of "use the wire the phone came with", but after 3 continuous days of charging, i got red leds
what's the next move?
edit: when off charging, i held down the power button and got the 3 flashes again
i tried holding power button + volume up, did not get any vibrations, according to other threads, i should connect it to AC and led should be red, led isn't red, gonna just leave it charging for a week on AC and see if my computer recognizes it
I have a similar problem. Basically I've had problems with some roms I've had going so I tried to reformat using flashtool and stock. Got it to work but got to around 10% battery. I then proceeded to flash a new kernel/recovery but it didn't boot anymore and am now stuck with a phone that only shows red LED when charging. What should I do?
P.S. I left it charging all night and it still won't boot up. Reflashed it (NOTE: All my flashes were successful) and no dice. Still red LED.

That happened to my own too. I got it to detect by plugging in my charger and doing a hard rest (Volume up + power button) then as quickly as possible unplug it. Once unplugged, make sure to plug it to your computer in flashmode in the first try.

I don't remember the exact steps cuz it didn't work for me (seems like I have a blown chip or something) so I didn't give it much interest. But I believe it was something like what hakkai said, connect both and as soon as the light comes on hold power + vol up and when it vibrates disconnect the phone and connect it immediately in flashmode then do whatever you want.

Sudden bootloop. Cannot access Fastboot or Recovery

Hi, I've got the Moto G 2014 (xt1068) and this morning when I woke up, I disconnected the phone (it had been charging all night as usual) and when I started using it, it suddenly went into Bootloop. I'm running the latest CM 12.1 nightly and never had a problem. The problem is that I cannot access the Fastboot or Recovery mode... So I really don't know what to do. I hope anybody can help me.
Press Power button continues when Phone is off then Press Volume Down continues And Leave Power Button , You will enter in the Fastboot Mode :good:

I had this same problem, the main problem is when the phone goes into bootloop the adapter isn't able to send power to the phone because it's constantly turning off and on. Plug your phone to your laptop or pc. Let it charge for an hour or so. The battery percentage will increase and it'll boot.

I know it's a little bit extreme, but in your case if nothing helps I would remove the battery and charge it outside of the phone with a charger (by connecting it to charger somehow with cables).
Or just replace it.

Replaced Battery, Screen Not Working, and Red Light Flashing. Help!

Hi,
Newbie here, so please forgive if this topic has been covered before; if it has, perhaps someone would kindly direct me.
A few days ago I opened up my M7 to replace the battery. I followed the instructions and successfully replaced the battery and reattached all the ribbons.
On first boot, the screen would not work, though the phone was powered up because I started receiving app notification pings. So I disconnected all the ribbons and the battery and started again. Upon completion, the phone worked perfectly; the screen on and fully functioning as normal. However, the battery icon was on 60% and not showing as charging despite being connected to a charging cable. I can't remember if the charging light was illuminated or not at this point.
About an hour later, the screen died and I presumed that perhaps the battery had died. I was out at the time so had to wait about 3 hours before I could take another look. When I came home I disconnected everything again and reconnected, but still no joy. I plugged the phone into my charger and the notification light started flashing red, so at least there is power getting to the device.
I read somewhere that by pressing vol up, vol down & power and holding them down for a couple of minutes may resolve, but unfortunately not.
I left the phone on charge overnight and it is still flashing red.
Can anyone advise me what can be done to fix my issue, please?
Thanks.
ADDITIONAL:
The red light is now solid and not flashing.
ADDITIONAL:
Red light is flashing again.
Any help out there for me... please?
Seems like battery is not connected properly or something like this, or maybe your display ribbon is not connected properly again, and that's why you don't get the battery charging screen.
Ok, so I have discovered the reason why the screen wasn't working; the connector at the rear of the power button was disconnected. The phone now shows a working screen.
However, the unit won't charge and still shows a flashing red light. The battery is now down to 7% after being plugged in overnight.
Is anyone able to assist, please?
Thanks.
Maybe you damaged the ribbon of the battery?
Are you sure you bought genuine HTC battery?
