Sammobile.com + ODIN!!!!!!!!

You can try uninstalling Kies, deleting Samsung folder in Documents and then installing Kies again. Did the job for me. My firmware updete was freezing at 99% downloading firmware components

You can flash trought ODIN, and don't make new threads for this stuff, please!

Try doing a factory reset first.
If you still keep getting it then it might be worth taking it to a sammy service centre.
If ur phone is rooted or hv cwm,ota wont work..
U shud hv stock rom for completing ota updte
U hv to first flash stock rom via odin from samfirmware..
Then ota will work..
Or u can get latest firmware directly from samfirmware and flash it directly..

i have tried to unroot my device, and it didn't work
and after the factory reset, the phone has been unrooted automatically,
i have search for the new firmware, and its size is 144mb, and the internal memory of my phone is 190 mb approx. and the free space 100mb, is it a problem???? (off-course i have a sd card of 4 gb, but i don't know how to use it as an internal memory)

that 144 mb goes to the rom..
internal memory wouldnot be a issue for installing rom..
the max vslues are
rom-210mb
int mem-190mb
u can confidently install new firmware..
do it from sammobile.com..
if u want further help.. ask me..

That was sure to happen. How can any firmware update be only 6.9mb!!! I think the download was aborted.. :sly:
I would recommend you to delete the firmware file from your computer and download it again. The file is generally stored under your user profile/appdata and is generally hidden. This is considering you are running windows seven.
If you have a hard time finding the file, download a firmware from sammobile and flash it via odin.

Agree with Dr Ketan,
i have tried to update using the OTA file from sammobile but when i do it via CWMR, it fault (signature verification failed)
mobile odin requires a update.zip file which doesnot recognize the above file as an update and instead it just unpacks the zip.
I can't get any OTA updates, and can't seem to update via Kies.

Problems with marshmallow update. Emergency recovery

Hello all. I'm having some trouble getting my note 5 to work again. I downloaded the new Marshmallow update today from sammobile and proceeded to flash it with odin. After 10 seconds I got the fail red box in odin, disconnected my phone and got this error: '' an error has occured while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software''.
So I went ahead and read in a couple of forums and saw that people got their phones working back using Kies. I did that. Entered my model number (sm-n920g) and entered the serial number. Kies then started to download the firmware and the recovery failed. I have no idea what to do really. Should I try using the Smart Switch program instead? Flashing a lollipop one via odin? Or what? I've never had any trouble before flashing stock roms or customs on any of my other phones, so I'm getting a bit frustrated after Kies didn't work. Any recommendations would be gladly appreciated!
I would personally go back and flash the stock lollipop firmware and double check that the marshmallow update you are using is not corrupted. Also, make sure to use twrp 3.0.1 as a recovery. I was having boot loops at first until I discovered the correct recovery file.

Well the lollipop stock rom failed too. I'm getting an error in the download mode that says SW REV CHECK FAIL. Don't know what it means or how to fix it, but I'm currently not able to flash anything. What can I do??

Please make sure the download is not corrupted or ensure you are using the correct firmware file.

samsung galaxy 3 mini fails to write firmware on sm-g730v

Hello everyone,
I tried installing my devices firmware from the samobile site, after having it boot loop. I got it into download mode, connected it to my pc running odin, and tried flashing the firmware. It got as far as loading the recovery, then tried the rest but failed in the end, saying flash write failed or something like that. Would a custom firmware work better? It seems there are tools for other versions of the s3 mini, but not mine, so I'm not sure of the next step.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
You could try using kies to flash the firmware and there is safestrap(twrp) available for the g730v. If kies doesn't work make sure you are following the steps to flash the odin firmware correctly.

I believe I followed the directions correctly for odin, and the kies software should have worked since my phone had an error message that it couldn't see the phone. I tried installing twrp, didn't take. I tried finding the correct safestrap file, but the only one close was for the s3 and the person said it was too big for their screen.
I appreciate your help, and any more would be much appreciated.

Maybe you downloaded some bad firmware, where did you get your odin package from?
I would recommend downloading this for odin.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634742565
also here is a link to safestrap for when you unbrick your phone.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../recovery-locked-verizon-s3-mini-ne2-t3361624
So the different firmware didn't work. I went so far as to uninstall kies software, used odin 3.07, 3.09, and the latest one with my the same issue. I even used a different cord. I guess the next step is to hook up my phone to my computer using ADB and see if it's stuck in write only mode.
