I've been trying to use the ICEss "Stock-ish" ROM but it always sticks even when I try different options. Sometimes it sticks at the "htc quietly brilliant" screen, other times it has the glowing android that moves left to right, but it never loads, even after as much as 20 minutes. Any fixes for this?

Fastboot any boot image... I recommend faux... then use recovery to install what you want...

Hi everyone,
Semi-experienced guy here, played around with my old Aria lots but haven't really done much to the new Vivid besides unlocking the bootloader and installing CWM.
I ran the S-OFF program, worked like a charm. Then I flashed wcxrecovery, no problems there. Then I loaded the PH139 update file to prepare for an ICS custom ROM, and that loaded everything OK. I hit reboot, and now the phone will not go past the initial HTC boot screen. No loops, just stays on that screen. Neither ADB nor fastboot will recognize the phone.
So, how do I extricate myself from this situation?

Never mind, got myself out of panic mode and I'm booting up ICS now.
Hey Everyone, Im new to rooting and installing custom roms and have been having a boot loop problem after installing the ReVolution mod. I have followed multiple tutorials and have been trying for about 4 hours and every time I reboot after the install I get the HTC logo and a bunch of red text that from what I read is normal for about 10 seconds than it shuts off, starts up, and repeats. I have tried everything I can find online and on this site but no luck. Any help would be amazing! Thanks.

It's a common issue. You need to flash a lower over clocked kernel using fastboot. Check out Prometheus kernel in the dev section! (I recommend the 767mhz kernel)

I am having quite a problem. I had unlocked the bootloader and rooted my ONE. Suddenly it decided to freeze on the lockscreen so i tried to reboot. It would not reboot and was stuck on the HTC ONE screen. I tried booting into recovery and sideloading the stock rom which did not work. and now i can not even boot into the recovery. please help. When i try to boot it up regularly it gets stuck on the Quietly Brilliant screen.

This will sound weird but seems to be helping people in the dev sections:
Put the phone under a bright light, and hold the power and volume down buttons.
I haven't had to use this particular method myself, but supposedly it works.
I installed viperRom 3.1 rc2 on my sprint HTC one but for some reason it's stuck in a boot loop it boots up to HTC quietly brilliant then turns off n keeps doing it can anyone help me please I really want this Rom on my phone
It doesn't boot the first time. Hold power button for 10 seconds and see if that makes it boot. If not, make sure you did a full wipe and reflash. Also, check to make sure your MD5s match to rule out a bad download.

I have the HTC Vivid on stock firmware until recently it started to shut down by itself, so I decided to try some roms. I unlocked the bootloader, and then installed the clockworkmod recovery. It remained on S-ON. I tried the cyanogenmod 10, MIUI, and bunch of other roms, they all freeze after starting up, like as soon as I can see the initial set-up screen. It goes past the boot. Sometimes I even have time to go into the launcher and click on things before it freezes. Then after a few seconds it reboots. I tried to run RUU, but it fails as well. Any ideas what should I do?

Yes, I did flash boot.img from extracted zip of the rom. I also tried TWRP recovery, same result.
