Outlook.com Mail, Outlook 2013 and WP8 Mail - Weird issue - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am just having the strangest issue with Outlook.com Mail, Outlook 2013 and WP8 Mail.
Outlook.com is where I have my email through
Outlook 2013 RTM is my desktop client, (always on)
WP8 You guessed it
The strangeness I see is when I have several emails in the inbox that are unread. When I click on one to read it, my phone plays the new email alert sound, but there is no new email. I move on to the next unread mail, same thing happens.
If I read the mail on my pone and it is still marked unread in Outlook, same thing happens.
Anyone else see this?

AT&T Tilt Xpress Mail Calendar

I am using Xpress Mail [which I believe is Seven v.6] to push my work email and calendar items to my Tilt. It works fine except for 2 annyoing integration issues. 1. Xpress Mail uses a separate calendar than the Outlook calendar instead of integrating the two so that on my Today screen on the phone I need to enable both the Outlook calendar and the Xpress Mail calendar. This takes up 2 lines and often is repetative. 2. The Outlook calendar will list upcoming appoiintments several days in advance so it can remind you of upcoming appts. The Xpress Mail calendar only will show the appointment on the day of the appointment. It would be nice if it gave at least an extra day notice so that when I check the today screen the night before I know I have a meeting in the morning.
Does anybody here know of a way to tweak to reg so that the Xpress Mail calendar entries are integrated into the Outlook calendar?
Or, if not, then is there a way to have Xpress Mail show appointments prior to the actual day just like the Outlook calendar?
Also, there is a Seven v.7 beta of Xpress Mail that is supposed to be better. Does anybody know if this has been fixed in v.7 beta?
Thanks.
I gave ip on the xpress mail....unstable as ***

I just found out about emoze after your post. I noticed that they support Gmail - which I use (Google Hosted) for my domains. Are there any real advantages to using emoze to push emails from Gmail vs. POP?
How does emoze handle calendar entries from non Outlook sources such as Lotus Notes? You may not know if you just sync with Outlook. Do all calendar entries get integrated into the Outlook calendar on the device or is there a separate calendar like in XpressMail?

I used Seven's beta of Version 7 on my 8525 and now on my Tilt. It uses the built in databases for Calendar and Contacts. It is beta, but I have found that it works great and is stable. In version 6, I hated not being able to sync contacts and I had turned off the calendar sync because I didn't want to have two different databases plus their calendar app was crap (as you pointed out). Version 7 fixed that by using the internal database. Additionally, if you have Outlook Web Access, you won't need to keep a PC on conneted to your work network. (We don't, so I couldn't use that new feature). You will need to sign up and apply for the beta if you want to use it. Here is the link: http://community.seven.com/forum/main.php. No, I am not affiliated with Seven, just like their product. Also, I tried emoxe, but could never get it to work reliably.

I replied a nice long thorough reply to your post on HoFo. Basically it says Seven's beta rocks. I've used Emoze and Xpress Mail. Both suck in comparison to Seven. See my post there:
http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1256897
Similarly, even though I now sing Seven Beta's praises, I am not affiliated with them in any way. And I can prove that via my posts on the Seven msg support board which I also provide linkage to.

IMAP subfolders in TFlo3D

Hi there,
I received my Diamond yesterday and configured it completely. I also made the settings for my IMAP mail account. Now I set that it should automatically check emails every 30 minutes. The problem is I have a lot of subfolders on my IMAP account. It seems that touchflo3d only notices new mails in the INBOX folder. I understand that it can only display mails from one folder in the envelope but I at least want to get a notification (on the touchflo3d mail icon on the bottom) when a new email arrived in one of the subfolders.
Anyone noticed that behaviour? Btw. I using standard IMAP no push or something
Just click on the down-arrow next to the "Inbox" label on the top-left, and you should see a list of all the IMAP folders.
true...but I meant the little green number appearing in TFLO3D when you got a new unread emails. It currently shows only when a new mail is in INBOX but not in a subfolder
But I also noticed that sometimes Outlook doesn't show new emails even in the foldertree until I open the subfolder then the new email is shown. Seems like I have to investigate that further.
Bad IMAP support.
You will see, your IMAP folders are empty (at least with google imap it is).
Google makes all mails appear in Inbox too, so I see them unsorted on my device, but in Gmail everything is ok.

No envelope in mail accounts on TF3D

For some reason, my TF3D-screen does not show my Outlook emails (the envelope) anymore, although my emails are still in sync (when I look with outlook, everything's fine).
Instead the screen says: "no accounts". TF3D shows the unread count green number when new emails have arrived , so it knows of the existence of my outlook email.
Anyone any idea?
Thanks,
Any news???
Is 'email' checked with activesync?
re-enable it?
Yes, I have do it, but without result.

If you check your email elsewhere, have the mails actually been deleted from the server?
Only thing I can think is that you're on the 'unread' pane of emails. If so, swipe left to get to the 'all' pane.
My answer as below:

S4 Exhance - Outlook - Text Message Not Coming In

Hey Folks,
For many years I have been using my Android phones connected to my Exchange account so that I can send and receive text messages from Outlook.
I was previously using an S3 without any problems for the past 18 months.
Yesterday the S3 went into the fish tank.
I picked up an S4 active. I added the exchange account using the Exchange account connector. I received a notice in my outlook that the phone was connected.
One text message arrived. Then the phone failed and stopped making and receiving calls. And the text messages stopped showing up in Outlook.
I exchanged the phone last night for another S4 active.
I connected it again to exchange, got the message in outlook that the phone was connected. I am able to send text messages but they don't appear in outlook.
Also if I add things to my calendar in outlook, or on the phone it used to synch within minutes. Now the appointments don't synch until I manually synch.
I checked my exchange server, and it shows the phone is connected.
I removed and readded the account several times without any different results.
I have checked numerous times, and the SYNC SMS is checked and SYNC calendar is checked.
Data is turned on
I contacted Samsung support which was a joke, and they said do a factory reset and start all over again.
Anyone have any insight that might resolve this problem?
Thanks,
Dave
I've been using Outlook Connector without issue for several years. I've never had text messages show up in Outlook. I don't even think Outlook supports texting. I do eventually see text messages in my Combined Inbox on the phone, but that just started with my S4A and I find it to be annoying. I prefer my text messages stay in my text messaging app and my e-mails stay in my e-mail Inbox. I'm constantly having to delete the texts from my Inbox because if I don't I end up getting a second notification for the same message I already read when it came into my text app. I'm pretty sure that Outlook Connector does not download text messages to Outlook, though.
