Hi, someone's having this problem too?
I bought my RAZR from Telcel... the call volume was clear and loud the first two months, i could hear the calls in and outside of an assembly plant (it's very noisy in my work) but now I can't make calls without a pair of earphones because it's now sounds too low from the earpiece...
I'm thinking about bringing my phone to my Carrier Customer Support to see if they change my phone to another one, or change the earpiece or whatever... i'm still paying for it.
If they want to charge me for the reparation or service i'm going to change the piece myself, but in ebay there's not parts available or is there compatible earpieces around... suggestions?

You have Motorola's international warranty and therefore the repair should not be the problem. As you describe symptoms it looks like the earpiece is broken. It is one of the most common failures among cellulars. I doubt that you'll find spare earpiece on the market though. The phone is relatively new and it is hard to get any replacement part. And why bother with repairment yourself if you could get it for free? Not mentioned that RAZR I has compact design and no approach to the interior is provided. You'll more likely damage it than repair it if you are not a professional...
Well... technically, I don't have any warranty from Motorola because i've unlocked the bootloader... i want it to send to my carrier customer service, but i dont have phone for backup and neither for microsim cards... and JB is out... oh well

Question is for anyone who has sent in their xperia to get serviced in sony ericsson/pts electronics in the us. Do they keep the phone serial number and all that in a database? Reason why i asked is because i sent mine in to get repaired and they said it was out of warranty because the white sticker in the phone turned pink. But the funny thing is the batter part didnt turn pink ...
Now i want to get my phone repaired seriously and it didnt fall into water or anything like that but somehow moisture got into it.
Can i swap the label that has the phone serial and put it onto a newer xperia outer body and send it again? Or will they know that the phone was sent in already by the serial?
Thanks
Warranty is voided whenever you disassemble the phone. They have their way of knowing when you do this. So I don't think your plan woiuld work.
nah...whenever the sticker turned pink, it means is water damage...
i sent mine back b/c the button is working properly somehow, can they couldn't fix it and sent me a new one
It is VERY likely that "they" would and will put this into their database with all the data they can gather from you and the phone and the circumstance. That is what ALL companies (and others) are doing nowadays.
On the other hand, SE should have offered you to repair it and you pay for it...didn't they offer that?
they didnt, they just sent it back, no emails or phone calls.
so much for customer service
they claim its liquid damage and it caused corrosion. im told they wouldnt even repair it even if i wanted to pay them to.
this is horrid.

bump it up to a supervisor tell them your battery indicator never changed color. just call a few times make sure you get the supervisors name's and details so you remember it for the next time you call. Unless you actually dropped it in water or something.
what was broken on the phone where you needed to get it repaired?

you know the problem with the headphone jack that some people even in the forums say? like the headphones jack would make the phone think the headphone is plugged in but it isnt. And with that i cant use the phone without having the headphone plugged in or bluetooth headset enabled.
Where is this liquid detection sticker located?
in the battery compartment
Also on the battery itself the two white stickers. And on the phone mother board ... near the headphone jack if i remember correctly
The sound on the earphone is getting faint and kinda scratchy. I plan on getting a new housing for the phone soon and would like to fix this while I have the phone open. My questions are...
1. Is the earphone replacable or is it hardwired to the circuitboard?
2. Any idea where I can get a replacement of it, if it is an option?
Ive looked at a few online stores but I cant find the certain part or if its included. Thanks for the help, Im really into this phone.
you can buy a whole earphones for like 4$

....earpiece speaker or what ever its called....and I usually have to use my trusty HTC headset to hear the calls clearly, if I dont got em with me I use the speakerphone.
Greetings all!
My phone has just returned from a Samsung warranty repair.
It now has peculiar if amusing fault, every time I press the return or menu key and the phone vibrates there is a sound I haven't noticed before it's like a wasp trapped in a tea cup but only very briefly.
Perhaps something wasn't tightened enough after a screen replacement.
Is this normal should I be concerned or will this odd sound lessen with time?
Or it could simply be that I'm being paranoid and the the G-note's always make that sound?
I'd rather not have to return it again unless necessary.
Thanks for reading.
No vibration sounds in heptic feedback. But I can clearly 'hear' vibration in vibrate mode.
this is sort-of off topic but are you located in the US?
I ask because i have heard that people in the US can't get a warranty repair from samsung with the international version of the note and i need a warranty repair.
Thanks for your help
If you don't wan't to send it back again you could lower the vibration intensity in the sound settings
Cheers
Thanks Boy124 for the feedback, I've contacted via mySamsung account and hope to hear from them soon

My commiserations kkg720
I'm in the UK myself.
Although they may not be able to offer you a warranty repair, if you haven't done so already go to http://www.samsung.com/us/#latest-home and register your device and contact them directly via the account, they will at the very least recommend a authorized repair centre in your location.
Who knows they may even honour their warranty regardless of it being a international version.
Be aware that on average it can take them the up to week to reply.
No need to be intimated by the their website it's a very easy processes.
best of luck, I know I'll be thinking twice before I buy another Samsung smartphone.

My only fear with leaving this fault, it may affect the future resale value via e.g. Ebay.
Sounds like the little vibrator didn't get put back into it's holder properly.
I've had a couple of phones torn apart (either by me or in my presence) and for the most part the haptic vibrator is just a tiny off-centered spinning top that sits between two plastic holders. If it's not sitting in there just right it'll rattle against the plastic that holds it.
Almost certain that's what you are hearing. It's not detrimental to the devices operation, but certainly sucks for resale.

Invaluable info thanks btyork.
They've fudge it up again at Samsung this phone's going back pronto.
Perhaps this time they'll do something about the banding on low-rez images Not that Samsung will acknowledge this fault with super amoled HD, a subject for a another thread I think.
hello,i live in mexico and i bought one HTC One and i unlocked it with the help from other threads on the forum.
the problem is that i dropped my device and now the people can't hear me when i make calls, also when i record videos i don't get any sound
or when it records something for soundhound sounds mute.
i would like to know what piece should i buy(maybe if someone could post a link to it )
i can't get the guarantee here in mexico and the people that could repair it says that i would cost me $130DLS for the piece and the installation.
i suppose it's the microphone but i don't know if this piece could solve the problem.

if the repair person can promise your device wont get damaged from the repair( these phones from what ive read, are next to impossible to open without destroying the housing or worse!) that may be an ok option if you cant use it. Or if you are capable find the part you need, buy a replacement housing, jump on youtube and fix it yourself. I think the housings are $35 usd on amazon. good luck!
Hi,
I have 2 Razr i.
One of them developped a sound problem. It's 3 months old.
The ear speaker volume is lower than the other and people complain they hear me like i speak in a can, with a bit of echo, and can't hear what i say.
Tried a factory reset of course, and i tried a sim card from a different carrier, same problem.
Any ideas ?

bring to the service center, maybe it's the hardware, ,,
Yes it's probably the hardware...
But i have no service center near me, in canada they don't support razr i, and i bought it on ebay.
So i'm probably better to try to repair it myself !
