Hi Guys, i have a questions here. I own a sensation xl and the kernel is 2.6.35 with Android 2.3. I did not received any upgrade for android 4.0.
Q1: It's because of my kernel version so i did not received any v4.0 upgrade?
Q2: It's possible for me to update kernel version from 2.6.35 to 3.0.16 ?
Q3: If yes,How i do fully back up for my current Android version and kernel version?
Q4: what tools should i download?

If you have not recieved an Android 4.0 update, that is most probably because you have a carrier specific device, and the said carrier did not released the updated for this device.
The kernel version has NOTHING to do withthe version of android in your concern, because, 2.6.35 was the version of kernel for GB ROM, and the new ICS ROM has the 3.0.16 kernel, comes with the update.
If you want to update the kernel version, you must note that the current version of kenrel 3.0.16 and above variants are only compatible with ICS and custom ROM's based on the latest international version of ROM.
You can use XL Multi Tool, or AIO in order to flash the corresponding things, Unlock Bootloader -> Flash Custom Recovery -> Root via recovery -> Flash S-OFF Hboot - > Flash Custom ROM via recovery.

Hi guy,
I have my IncS running on 2.3.3, previously i have s-off my device, as i read there is a thread that saying if need to have the OTA update for 2.3.5, i have to restore back the stock ROM.
So i try to check the stock ROM thread ([ROMs]Incredible S Shipped ROMs Collection) but i don't seem to find my stock ROM is the collection, but then i found this
RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTC_WWE_3.08.405.3_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227170_signed.exe,
So i just wonder, is that possible for me directly restore this stock ROM directly?
since this rom is 2.3.5.
FYI, my device software number is 2.30.707.1, baseband version 20.2811.30.085AU_3805.09.03.27_M.
Thanks.

If you are S-OFF using Revolutionary, then trying to run the RUU will not work successfully because the Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT will not allow the RUU to overwrite it and the stock ROM will only run and boot if you have HBOOT 2.00.0000.
In the Development section there is a pre-rooted version of this stock ROM which you can flash on a Revolutionary S-OFF. This gives you the advantage of trying it out without losing S-OFF and if you don't like it, just flash another custom ROM.
Hi tpbklake,
Thanks for the reply, just another stupid question, so far i see the HBoot version, is either 1.13 or 1.09, but when i check mine which s-off using Revolutionary,

The Revolutionary S-OFF process implemented S-OFF by using a modified HBOOT and they made their's version 6.13.0000 to prevent overwriting it with a 'lower' version number and thus losing S-OFF when an official HTC OTA/RUU comes out.
That version number is what will prevent you from successfully installing the 3.08.405.3 RUU because the RUU will attempt to load HBOOT 2.00.0000 (lower version number) on a phone that has HBOOT 6.13.0000.

Hi there,
the RUU ist only with Android 2.3.7 (latest for German Vivid)
i tried everything, S-OFF, Bootloader Unlocked CIQ Neuterer but with the german velocity i can't use any costum rom.
permanent root works, costum kernel doesnt work, costum rom soesnt work
It stucks in Boot, i think its the Kernel which is not updated in germany.
Is there any possibility to update the kernel compatible to the german velocity to use costum roms?
(costum rom with stock kernel does not work)
Did you use htcdev to unlock your boot loader?

Hello guys,
There are a lot of threads out there but I just cant seem to find the info I need, because there's a lot of info I don't understand. I want to return to stock as I plan on returning the device to service for purple tint. I also didn't get the latest firmware because I rooted and put ARHD v22.
I've made a backup only from ARHD ROM (not stock ROM) and plan to restore it after my camera get fixed, but it might be a chance out there that the new firmware will fix it for me, I'm not that low light pictures kinda guy anyway, but in order to return it I need to be stock.
Will it be fine if I flash mike's htc stock rom using the first method? It will be possible for me to get the last firmware using this stock deodexed ROM + stock recovery + relock?
I've rooted it when I had 1.44, then put the clean GPe ROM from bigxie, and after that I went back to stock with this RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4. I've had 2 updates so there goes my 1.44 hboot. Tried to flash that again but ofcourse it didnt worked.
So can someone guide me what to do to return to stock? Thank you!

Thank you, I am already subscribed to that thread. I think I found the solution. I have to flash a stock rom + recovery and wait for the specific OTA for my MID. But that it's not a good solution atm because my MID didn't received the update yet.

Hello, I currently have a Rooted AT&T Android version 5.0, SM-N900A NOTE 3 and would like to know my options for upgrading to the latest firmware version? official or unofficial. What would be my best options, or would it be best just to leave my phone where it is at now? Let me know if any other info about my phone is needed, Thanks!
Is the Resurrection Remix supported for my phone?
If the phone is running a stock 5.0 rom, the bootloader is locked and cannot run any custom roms unless the roms are based on the stock Samsung rom.

I had the Stock 5.0 Rom at one point, but i had to downgrade to 4.4 to install an already rooted 5.0. Does this mean my bootloader is locked? How can i find out?

I tried this but nothing is coming up after inputting:
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* . Then go to -> "Service Info" -> "Configuration". If there is:
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked

Also, when I first turn on my phone from a reboot, i see an open lock that says "Custom" Does that mean bootloader is unlocked? or does it just mean its rooted?

Does that mean anything?

Yes, the open lock means the bootloader is unlocked; however, you may need to use safestrap to install ROMs but I'm not 100% sure as I had a note 3 which can accept TWRP.
Hello. First of all I would like to notice that I repairing phones, I have no problem with a flashing by test point etc, so if You have any possibility (even hard to do) how to try fix this problem please let me know.
So I have bricked A600FN with locked OEM, FRP and Secure Boot. first thing I tried to do was download original software (I checked actual version by my tool and it is AP: A600FNXXU2ARG5) but phone is not able to flash this file by ODIN or similiar program (probably error because of OEM lock), I checked the latest version of software for this model and it also can't be flashed (of course I flashing 4 files softwares). Programs SmartSwitch can't help with this model. Phone boot only to recovery (I already made wipe data + cache) but it won't help. Do You know any possibility to unbrick this model? Maybe some file which will bypass oem lock? I looked for test point for this model but I think it's not avaible.
There's no need to unlock OEM to flash stock firmware. What error do you have in download mode when you try to flash latest stock firmware?

Problably that's the problem - it's outdated software and you can't flash stock firmware with lower (older) bootloader version than your current. Flash equal or higher firmware version:
Download Samsung Galaxy A6 SM-A600F firmware
Download the latest Samsung firmware for Galaxy A6 with model code SM-A600F. Check out our free download or super fast premium options.

So, of course I tried to flash latest possible version (to be honest I tried to flash about 20 different versions from android 8.0 to 10.0.
There are screens of errors:

and also from paid tool TR TOOL PRO
Any ideas?
I think that if it's not oem lock, just memory can be broken. It's not my first time when I using odin and I never had this kind of problem.
What error do you have on the display in download mode? It still looks like you're trying to flash firmware with lower binary version than your current binary. Try this:
