[Q] Can my phone be saved? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey y'all,
I had CyanogenMod 10.1 installed on my Galaxy s, but the playstore crashed after starting.
So I found a gapps package for jellybean (totally not the version I needed) and flashed it in my stupidity.
After that, I kept getting an error message which was something like com.android.phone stopped working, so I did a factory reset and formatted everything except for my external sdcard.
Now my phone wont start up anymore, It just shows the first screen 'GALAXY S GT-I9000 SAMSUNG'
So like the title says, can my phone be saved? Can I install CyanogenMod again?

try this...

Verizon Galaxy Tab cyanogenmod 9 wont run with sd card in

I have a galaxy tab on contract from Verizon, and I wanted to put cyanogenmod 9 on it. Followed the guide on the cyanogenmod wiki for installing clockwork recovery, and everything went fine, until I booted up. I got an "encryption failed" error, and it wanted me to wipe and reboot. I instead shut down and googled the issue, finding that for some users, removing the sd card while booting up fixed it, and it works perfectly. The sd works fine after the device is booted, but I have to remove it when booting up. Any ideas?

[Q] Changing from CM10.1.3 to 10.2.1 Spinning Wheel can't enter recovery mode

Hey guys I've decided today to update my Samsung galaxy s I9000 from 10.1.3 to 10.2.1 so when the final release 11 comes it would probably be easier to update.
But it kept giving me this error This ROM uses an incompatible partitionlayout status 7
I tried using external sd card and internal sd card it didn't work.(obviously going trough all the right steps like wipe's, even cleaned dalvik whatever that is).
EDIT: for some reason i called it boot loop but it isn't the same, i just can't pass trough the spinning cyanogen wheel, everytime i try to turn off and restart phone it goes directly to the wheel.
What should i do? There's a lack of certain steps to fix this, at least i found none.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Loosing all data is no problem i saved my contacts and sms before

[Q] Samsung Galexy GT-P1000 Random restart/Bootloop

I recently updated my gt-p1000 to cm10, by following a youtube tutorial. After Two days of use , i encountered a bootloop.
i tried factory reset and wiped dalvk cache, cache but it still ddnt work. i then put ICS, (CM9) but still ddnt work.It still keeps restarting.
then i tried to install the latest kernel, but after i did this im stuck on the cyanogenmod logo, it just keeps rotating. I then used odin and down graded to the stock rom, and im suprised that the restarting still ddnt stop. It just keeps restrating every 20-30mins or sumtimes just after u turn it on, (10sec). Pls help Me, i've dont everything told on the internet ( wiped cache, dalvk cache, factory reset, formated sys) EVERYTHING!
Hi,
It sounds a lot like a stuck power button issue to me. Especially if it behaves the same after returning to stock.
But for other opinions and ideas, I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!
ted my galaxy tab p1000 2.2 froyo with z4mod.
Then initially I installed cwm with ROM manager for galaxy tab T because there wasn't any specific model of cwm for p1000.
But but when I switched off and booted recovery, stock recovery always came......I could access cwm only through the ROM manager ("boot into recovery")....and that too if i choose any function it starts to load and when I press home twice it says "replacing stock with cwm" and that goes on forever...
So I installed cwm with Odin as I couldn't access functions like "install" in cwm without going into the loading phase.....but as the process in Odin finished, my tab started to boot and at "galaxy", the sceen got all pixalated and it went till " samsung " and the whole process looped........ Help!
I actually was trying to install lollipop 5.0.2...

Infinite bootloop on Cyanogen modded S3 Mini... help!

I'm a complete newbie to android phone modding, and I was really proud of myself when I was able to install the Cyanogen 12.1 and Google Apps onto my Samsung S3 Mini. However, I made the mistake of trying to put my work email on it, which requires that my phone be encrypted. Well, I guess the encryption and rooted phone didn't want to play nice together, so I got the error message that my phone would be factory reset. Boo! Well, it got worse. Instead of a factory reset, my rooted phone now is stuck in what I have now learned is called a bootloop. Basically I turn my phone on, and the Cyanogen start screen (with the text "TEAMWIN") just infinitely flashes on the screen until I pull the battery.
I have tried using Odin 3.07 and cm12.1_golden.nova.20160210.ODIN_TWRP.tar.md5. I do the three button system boot, connect the usb, run Odin, get the phone recognized, and then install the .md5 in the PDA section of Odin. It tells me that it succeeded, but when I restart my phone it's still the same bootloop. I also tried swearing, but that didn't help either.
Has anyone else out there had experience with Cyanogen and this particular error? I would love to get this phone working again... preferably with either a Lollipop version of android or back to Cyanogen 12.1.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone.
So I've got an update if anyone's interested... I can't call it progress, but it's a different problem now.
I was able to download and use Odin to do what was shown on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122548&highlight=root
Everything worked in Odin, the phone rebooted, and went to the Team Win Recovery Project diagnostics screen, rebooted again, and then to the samsung logo. However, it immediately goes to the "Encryption Failed" error screen, and the only option is to 'reset device'. Of course, doing this just reboots the phone and it then has the Team Win loading screen, Team Win Recovery Project diags screen, Samsung logo, and back to the 'Encryption Failed' screen again. So now I have a new infinite loop to solve. *sigh*
any thoughts?
Have you been able to get into TWRP? If you are, maybe you could wipe everything from there and flash the recovery version of your ROM.
I was able to put the stock bootloader onto the phone using Odin, download the original tar from here: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=GT-I8190, then used the stock bootloader to install it from the sd card. Everything went fine, but now when I boot the phone it just hangs on the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini GT-i18190 start screen indefinitely. Is this progress, or have I created a new problem now?
You're playing around with heavy stuff. I won't recommend using an upgrade flash (CM over Odin) as an full flash. Please try flashing a stock image.
If you did something wrong to the partitioning, then it's likely to not allow you to do a successfull factory reset. Maybe you can try re-flashing a stock Odin image with PIT repartitioning.
Remember to try to backup the EFS folder, doing that kind of flash might wipe it.
