This is the internal parts of the Dell Streak 7, their make/models, photos and information I can find on them

Nice.
You know how I was asking in another thread about getting a SIM Card slot in a WiFi Streak? Yeah, since you've got an opened up one, could you show me if it's possible to get a Sim Card slot for the WiFi?

By looking at the internals, you can see, yes it is possible. The contact points are there.

Just took a look at the pictures, looks like it will require some soldering however. Not to mention finding a SIM Card slot just for the Streak 7.

My Wifi only streak has a dummy sim card stuck in it (I think) wonder if its really a wifi version

All WiFi Streaks have a dummy SIM jam in them, as there is no actual reader on the motherboard.

Oh Right-On

Must be gone. Shows $193 now.
Perhap he means $125? There's some used/refurbs in the $120 range, a new one at that wouldnt be that unreasonable.
That's too bad though, I could definitely use a 2nd unit as a dev unit.
I'm already pushing my main one further then I'd like as I do use it for more important things.

Your right, it is gone! It was a new one.
Shipping was only $4.70 too.
I have made a deal trading my old Tmobile Sensation for another tablet I have left TMobile all the way. My Streak is technically available. I will know more probably Thursday when the traded tablet gets sent. I just returned the Streak back to Froyo via Giveens download. I have a 4G SD Card with it and I can.say all the rest of what ever came in the box. No scratches, I put a screen protector on from day one. Just a thought.

[Q] sd card too big

Hey has anyone else noticed that when a ad card is inserted and you close the flap that it doesn't close properly like when there isnt a card? Its maybe nothing but little things like this really bother me lol

Yup, its very minor but just enough to give the flap a curve and springiness - thought it was the sim card because I cut full sized sim myself with bluntish scissors. Took SD card out just now to confirm and it does stop the flap closing completely... might back up the card then trim it

Yeah it is very minor but I'm a detail freak and it was driving me nuts at least if I know its normal and not just me thats fine! Yeah I was up for ages taking in and out the sim and trying different sd cards thinking id put it in wrong. Poor design testing other than that cannot fault the device as of yet
Hell of an upgrade to my desire S!
But yeah it needs a trim I didnt think of that al though I think you should try it and report back if it works before I completely **** my phone up !
I don't have a spare sd card right now, when I get home I'll test it on an old one

my micro sim fits in fine did you use the sim eject tool to push it in as I had your problem before as hadn't pushed all the way in but it still worked and read SD card for some reason.
Hope this helps
You mentioned sim and sd card, just to clarify its sd card and distortion is less than a millimetre.

I mentioned the 'Sim eject tool' to use to insert the SD card..... I was not talking about the actual sim card just the tool provided.
Hope this helps clarify things for you if your comment was in responce to mine :0)

Dual SIM adapter

Hello All,
Can someone please provide their experience with using a dual SIM adapter on their Note II device.
I am thinking of this for future traveling.
T.I.A.
I have a gmate+. Was very good and handling well on 4.1.2. But when I flash 4.3. The device blocked during call. Restarting. Lost voice. It has issues with android 4.3. Hope they will update the app. I really like that device and it was all I need to transform my phone to a dual sim active phone.

Thank you smentoma!
This will be a good start
Have been using the MAGIC SIM Elite dual SIM adapter for quite some time now and it has been working as expected.
Have been able to utilise both SIM's 3g/4g connections with no issues and switching between SIMs isn't difficult (requires activating/deactivating airplane mode).
It isn't dual standby/active, meaning that its only one SIM active at a time. You can set it up (not a feature of the adapter, but something to arrange with carrier), so that if one SIM is inactive, it will forward calls to the other SIM which is active and vice versa. That way you won't/shouldn't miss out on calls.
Can be tricky to insert into the Note 2's SIM card slot.
My trick to inserting it, is to first put a micro SIM in to disengage the spring lever that's in the slot, then carefully pull the micro SIM out with needle-nose pliers (don't push the SIM to get it out like you normally would), then place the dual SIM adapter (micro-SIM side) into the slot and slide the micro SIM in. That way the adapter won't impinge on the spring lever and will more than likely sit over the SIM slot contacts (hope that made sense).
It's very easy to either pull too hard or twist it and damage the flex cable.
Have been using it with Beanstalk 4.3 ROM and TW 4.1.2 stock and no issues with either ROMs
It will bulge out a little when putting the battery cover back on.
Thanks Optimistic Pessimist!
I'm looking for a dual SIM adapter, so thank you for this thread. It will help me. Anyway, did u try anyone in AOSP 4.4?
Here is mine, got it from ebay for USD 5, was for the iphone 5, but will also work for android, infact any of them from ebay will work, no need to spend the extra cash for a magic sim.
Thanks kms108!
The continued support from this forum is absolutely incredible!

It's more convenience, especially if you are on the move, there are BT units available that allows 2 sim, 3 sim or 4 sim active at the sametime.
I know that....but if you are driving and need receive a call over bluethoot you cant....soo phone lose that usuability.
Ive sell my grand duos and bought note 2 because the performance.....and bought another cheap phone for other sim card (htc desire z). Since its a company number I dont use alot. But need to stay "alive" all the time

I've upgraded my phone to 4.3, slightly new menu for the sim tool kit, and new indicator, still working fine for me.
Thank you All for the continued feedback!
This is all very useful info!

I guess you found out the hard way to lol. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt the adapters thanks for your repl. I feel stupid but relived hhah.
I have a sim card adapter in my RAZR HD without my nano card in it and it doesn't get stuck. I got a set on Amazon that work great.
I bought this set. You have to make sure you install it flush but I've had no issues.

sorry I did not make it clear, I meant the sim slot like iphone 4/4s which has a sim tray to pull out.
The RAZR HD has a SIM tray that pops out. I've never seen a iPhone one though so no idea if it's similar.

Going from Galaxy Nexus to the Nexus 6

Like many of you in the past, I am a Verizon unlimited data customer that didn't want a phone that was locked down from Darth Verizon. I purchased my galaxy nexus December of 2011. I just purchased my Nexus 6 from Moto's website and am psyched. All I have to say is this experience going from a Galaxy nexus to Nexus 6 is going to be epic.
I'm in the same boat. My nexus 6 won't be here till 1/5/15 so let me know what your steps are for getting the Sim activated.

I just did the exact same thing, G Nexus to Nexus 6 (got mine in on Monday). I printed out a template online (check with ruler after printing to make sure it's the correct size) and cut my SIM with scissors. Had to do a little filing to get it to fit flush in the SIM holder, just need to make sure you don't cut it too small. I think all the electronic are in the center oval so make sure not to cut into that part at all. Everything is working for me, calls, text, LTE.

Just note that since you're using a LTE sim card that old, it may cause problems even though you don't experience any.. your signal may not be as good as a new sim card.

Noted, although I've definitely been getting better LTE service than with my GNexus. There are two main spots on my way into work that I used to lose signal and now I don't.
I'm actually excited for you. That's quite the upgrade.

OP should get a reward, I change phones more than I change my toothbrush in a year (kidding of course).
But yeah the difference would be night and day.
As for my Sim, I called Verizon and said I ordered an HTC M8. They are shipping it. I also ordered a nano to micro sim adapter. I am going to put my newly acquired nano sim in the adapter and place it in my galaxy nexus to verify it works. Then remove it and place it in the Nexus 6. Hopefully it works
