Hi all,so long time since my last post here
I have problem with my x8,
about 2-3 mounth ago my x8 got brick caused accidental in rainy day (full water in my x8 ),then i'm going to service to my friends ( no sony service centre here ). after 1 month,he told me that my x8 can boot again and ready to use.
first time i try,my x8 like a normal but if i reboot in "cold battery" sometimes not responsive like usually. scrolling is good, but touch to open apps or home screen is worst! but if my battery "warm",its work great again.
next other problem i've found ; the light sensor and brightness setting not fuction . this make my battery drain superfast and hot.. my screen hot too!
as my thread title; if the screen are hot AMAZINGLY i can scroll and touch screen without touch! its about 0.5-1cm from the screen. but for scroll and zoom in-out its 65% great, but for touch its very random (20% accuracy).
i have very surprise, then i check my x8. i found one cable jumper from one hardware (like IC maybe) to ground in PCB.
so,my question : can my x8 normal again? and,can old device have floating touch like an prototype device??
what do you think?
*my x8;synaptic,nAa14&last miniCM7
*i want to upload video to show all of you but i've no bandwitch
*sorry for my bad english

Floating touch is possible with an app called "floaTouch"
-if you pulled out battery exactly when it got wet, so it should be repairable
Light sensors aren't that much important, you can add brightness options to statusbar for quick access.
-try a new battery
-last chance - Change your mother-board if problem is annoying

- my phone damaged with water, and repaired by my friends
- brightness setting and light sensor unfunction, and this problem make my battery drain cause "superbright" on the screen..
-i think my battery still good, for standby maybe ±36 hours from full to empty..
-motherboard....or buy new phone

i bought a Xperia Tipo for my baby brother last week and it has touch sensitive issues just like SP when it placed horizontal ( i watched the Utube Videos and it looks exact the Same) but i found a little Mod App called (Touch Calibrate) i want you test it for me and say that if that worked for you or not!

Did You Check Unknowns Resources in Settings?!
it should WORK!
if that didn't work search TOUCH CALIBRATION in Play Store and let me know
Touch Irresponsive, Screen Freezes
Like a lot of users, I am also having problems with the xperia SP's touch screen. The touchscreen becomes randomly irresponsive. Sony acknowledges the problem and suggests:
"This have now been investigated and if you experience this problem I advice you to contact your local support team to have your phone calibrated at a repair center."
The problem is in live in Bangladesh and they do not have official Sony tech support centres. Does anyone know how to do the touch screen calibrations ? Any DIY solutions will be highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Mir
Hello there
Did any of you experienced this problem :
http://youtu.be/hitxapYdGl0
If I lock and unlock the screen, it solves it temporarly, untill the next time it occures.
Tried every fix found on xda ( dissabled x-reality, done the calibration thing, etc )
Flashed anoter .ftf firmware ...
If anyone has a sugestion, or a possible fix, i would try it happily.
If not, I will put gasoline on it, and burn this "*****" down ...
Seems like a hardware related issue to me
I have same issues sometimes, but didn't try to resolve problem.
I lock screen and unlock, it fix for some time.

I have a friend with a white Z1 and he isn't suffering from this.
Someone should contact sony centar about this problem, unfortunatly i cant because i leave in country that companys dosent love so much.
I ve removed the anti shatter film from my z1, The screen feels more responsive now ... I ll wait and see if the problem still persists ...

Ok, give me report on this one.
Ok ...
Things i've noticed so far :
- touchscreen is more responsive without the antishatter film
- if the phone is used only for basic things and does not heat up, the touchscreen works flawlessly
- if the phone is used intensively and heats up, things start to look messy ( for example if i run quadrant 4 times in a row, there is a very very big probability for the "problem" to occure.
- if the problem occures, regardless of the temperature of the phone, if you lock it and unlock it, the problem disappears, untill the next time it appears.
OK this is definitely a hardware issue for this device (globally, it has to be). The only I fixed it is my cleaning the grease/oil/sweat etc from the screen with a piece of cloth or directly washing it with water. I do this once in 3 days, I no longer experience this issue when the screen is clean.
Made another video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N42NX8hP8nM
Ran a stability test which heated the phone to ~40 degrees. As you can see in this video, the problem starts to appear, and disappears as the phone cools down. This happens every time I run the test and the phone gets hot.
Well f*** you Sony !!!
I have exactly the same problem! Only lock unlock fixes it for some time. Very annoying!

It is hardware problem. I had the same problem and replaced it with brand new phone
But I have a new problems on new mobile
Notification bar comes down itself very often (see video below)
Sometimes screen stops working and I have to restart phone
Restarting fixes the problem for a few hours
Can you tell me is this software bug or hardware problem? I can not contact support at this time
i had experienced this problem but it was no hardware problem
+ try to remove any screen guard if applied to your screen
+ try to remove asf
+check if pen mode is enabled and disable it

hello friends , i have a lg l90 (d410) that's barely one and a half month old . it's currently running on v10 d stock firmware and is rooted. I am finding it to heating under fairly mild to moderate usage.
Here's a brief overview of my usage patterns:
1. brightness at 30%
2. using single sim and data connection is on edge network throughout
3. have removed all google bloatware, currently have very few apps installed from the playstore & also greenify them post-usage
4. use a nillkin frosted shield hard case
Even after following all precautions, I can't help but find my phone's upper part & the area below the camera (at the back) to be heating up fairly fast, sayif i watch 4-6 mins of hd/full hd video on mx player at brightness "10" & sound "12" under H/W or S/W or say when I am using data-intensive apps & would suddenly have to attend a call in between, i would find the earpiece portion really warm. no matter how many apps i get rid of, thinking it would solve the issue, I always fail ! I use cooler master to determine apps that cause overheating & coolify to cool down but they don't seem to be of any help either!
Any idea about what could be causing this issue on my device? Should this be adjudged as a hardware fault & the unit be taken to the service center? I know this isn't fairly normal because ppl r hailing l90 for not warming up even during moderate gaming but mine even warms up while charging!
Any possible software-hack workarounds to get rid of this issue?

Its probably hardware. I have an L90 whose screen flickers. A friend has L90 with poor speaker quality. Its not perfect.
Look at battery temperature using app. Under 37°C is good.
I wouldnt blame. Galaxy S4 goes upto 44°C
@fear2433 thanks for reaching out to me! ...I have seen my phone getting hot up to 47°c Celsius while playing angry birds go for some 2-3 mins. Watching a HD video for say, 5 mins takes the temperature to 41-43°c Celsius. It normally stays at 31-33.9°c. I really don't think this is normal!
Should I take it to the local service centre & request a PCB replacement?

I just want to upgrade to a S6,S7 Edge or non edge. i just want to know if they have the save problem with displays ? I want to have a phone at least 2 years, can you recommand me a phone like that ?
I was just considering switching to a iPhone even though i prefer android on phones ... o how are S6,S7s displays ? Samsung still have the same problems?

Wow that's amazing. Been using samsung s5 exynos version for the last 1yr. Never had that kind of problem till date. And it have the same display as snapdragon version. And on comparison I found that this is by far the best display out there when compared to other brands.
Maybe perhaps you might be having a faulty unit from the begining.

I have the same problem here with the display and it's not a software problem (same by original os 6 and same by cyanogenmod 14).
After the temperatures are under 10 C. i can't open my s5 with home button i must do it over the power button.
Using S5 for more than 28 months still I have not faced any issue. I just had to buy new charger apart from that not a single problem and yes I mess up with my phone so much but I still working and no display failure yet. And also I have dropped it many times, it still refuses to die.
You are just having a defective model or some internals of the phone are messed up. Because Samsh*t produces one of the best displays..

Its not a good sign. Try disabling your light sensor. Even then if you experience such a problem than it means that your flex cable that attaches the screen with the motherboard needs to be changed.

Hi,
Yes and expect the same problems with the following generations. It's an amoled screen thing. The green colour happen when there's a colour displayed on the screen for a very long time (for example, I have a green on my screen of the size of my keyboard).
I think a solution to this problem is to set the display to turn off after 30s (it saves battery too) and maybe, if you're using a custom keyboard, change the colour from time to time. Use the brightness of the screen to a lowest which would still be comfortable to you (and auto unticked).
This last tip alone is enough to prevent greening. My flickering happened after an incredible fall (it had a tempered glass so the screen was safe). The flickering showed green what it had in memory.
Samsung has a 2-year guarantee for its products so you shouldn't worry for that period of time. Problem not solved, replacement.
Best of luck

The funny thing is i already did "by mistake" all the tips you said and still have this. Never dropped the phone though. This problems seems very big though, i expected a burn in to be the biggest problem, but to have flickering at a level that i cant turn on the phone. I wanted recently to switch to a Nexus 6p, but knowing that it uses Amoled too, its a bad ideea. So the only "solution" is to switch to IPS screens? (btw i want a phone that holds on for at least 3 years)
In my research thus far, the AMOLED screen technology is to blame. When the display circuits get old or damaged, they don't sustain current at low power settings. In LED screens, a back light controls brightness, but AMOLED screens send current to each pixel for brightness control. If the circuit is damaged, or any corrosion has built up inside, this could attenuate the current below the point required to sustain light flow. I see this problem with some LED and CFL lights on motion sensor switches. Just enough current goes through the motion sensor to keep it's circuits active, and that current causes a flicker in the light.
With the screen though, since the problem is only resolved when you increase the brightness just a bit above minimum, it seems anything that lowers the display power (auto brightness for example) will cause it to flicker if this setting gets too low. I also noticed that before the screen locks on timer, it dims to low power for a few seconds and flickers as a result. There are apps that attempt to resolve this by putting a translucent black screen over your desktop and apps. This keeps the power up on the pixels but adds a black overlay, kind of like a screen filter. You can adjust the darkness if you need it to save your eyes when reading in the dark but it doesn't help save power any. They also require a rooted device, which could void warranties. The reason for this I believe is because apps are supposed to operate in a way they don't intrude on each other, and a filter that lays over your screen does in fact alter the output of your display rendering. With the added security concerns of these apps possibly collecting screen shots and sending them to another site, I would avoid this. Best to use a physical screen overlay you can put on or remove as needed as long as it doesn't interfere with your touch screen options.
Ultimately, these devices were meant for replacement every 2 to 3 years so if you're like me and you like to make your investment last, best thing to do is apply any work around you can come up with. A repair shop may be able to wipe the circuit boards down with a solution that clears away corrosion, but it won't repair any weakened pixels. I'm still using a Samsung S5 G900F
- And i finally got this fixed. it sounds like the reason for this is that since the latest update your phone cannot decide whether to use hardware or software back light settings. I managed to make the problem go away by doing this:
Go to settings >> system >> About device.
Find "Build number" and click 6 times fast on it.
You will then get the message saying: "You are now a developer"
and then go back to Settings >> system >> Now you will see the "Developer Options"
Now go to Developer options >> Drawing Section or Rendering Section >> Find "Turn off hardware overlays" or "disable hardware overlays" >> This will force the phone to always use GPU for screen adjustments. no more flickering.
but If I turn the brightness ALL the way down, it still flickers like crazy, however, if that's the only time it'll do it, I consider that a win.

Hello guys, how're you doing?
My Sony Xperia z1 started making me mad due to several problems.
PS: I'm running android 5.1.
1- Erratic touchscreen:
the touchscreen sometimes starts moving things (open app or notification bar etc...) without touching it
2- Battery
sometimes the battery drop by 10% or 15% randomly
3- Overheating:
my phone became hot after 2 minutes or using the camera!
so, I'm wondering if someone could help me fix one of those problems
sorry for my bad english
Thank in advance
ok, the camera overheating is normal if you're using it for long time, the battery may be for time of use this phone is 4 years old and battery begin to fail try some app to calibrate it if doesn't work replace it and screen touch have you change the screen? if change try to put a black wallpaper and test if the problem persist when you go to home( in developer options check the "show inputs" option and check), and try a stock rom to verify if problems remains.

thank you for the reply bro!
1- The battery is JUST 2 years old!
2- My friend's Z1 start overheating after 10 minutes of using the camera, which is soo good. My phone is overheating after 2 minutes!
3 I'm using an original Rom, I'm not familiar with CFW on Sony! I tried the developpers option and found some problems in the corners of the screen and the phone ramdomly rebooted while I was testing it.
try to flash and do a full wipe then test it again if keeps the same it's probably a hardware problem, the touch can be minimize with screen protector but the battery an camera it's hard to manage.
sorry for my bad English it's not my native language

Allright bro, I'll give it a try. Actually, am not using a screen protector because I'm looking to fix this problem before buying a new screen protector.
I'm having the same problem with my touchscreen, I can't use the phone for more than 5 minutes without having the need to turn it off and on again to go back to normal. This is making me very mad that I'm considering to change my phone to any deep **** cheap phone that has a good screen that I can use normally..
I don't know if it's a software related or hardware, I flashed stock frimware many times and nothing changed, I recently had an urge idea to remove the stock screen protector (that has sony logo) hoping that the problem will get solved, but I guess it won't..
If anyone has an idea to solve this I and OP would be very grateful..
the screen touch is a hardware problem try to lower screen brightness and put a dark screensaver, it's somehow related with the contrast of the screen but not sure how to solve it completely the previously and a screen protector only make it usable but don't solve completely the issue.
sorry but that's all I know
