I'm dying to know what you plan on doing to your Atrix now that it's rooted. Why doesn't everyone give us a play-by-play as to what your game plan is.

oh I am loving my Tbolt right now, tho I cant wait to learn how to root and all that fancy stuff on this site My buddy nerf has a tbolt as well and we were doing tests on speedtest.net mobile ( non-rooted vs rooted with custom rom ) and I'll tell you what. Hey man, I am a long time member, and I used to love my TB. If you need anything at all, just hit me up. I like, wrote the root method for mac kids.
On an unrelated note, speedtests won't be different on rooted vs. unrooted phones.
Go to the TB forum, look around in the dev section, make friends with jcase and adrynaline and you'll be great.
does anyone know if someone is working on this? or if there's somewhere to learn to port ROMs. i would really like to learn how to if no one isn't already working on it

oh sorry for posting in wrong location but thanks for the answer. i recently just got the revo before looking at the current hacks for it and was somewhat disappointed in the lack of them. is there any specific reason for this or is it just not that popular a phone?

The reason is LG not honoring their license and releasing the source code. Illegal? Sure, but who's going to prosecute them?
Hello! I know this is not the appropriate forum to place this question but this is the closest one I found where I thought I could get some answers.
I have a Motorola Fire XT530. I have been seraching this forum to find ways to ROOT it in order to install Google Talk with Voice & Video Chat. Can anyone help me with this please?
Is the XT720 similar to XT530? If so, can we use the same methods to ROOT? Please guide my how. This is my 1st Motorola Android Phone and I need any help you can give me.

No need to be an ass.
There's a One click root for Motorola 2.3.4 Gingerbread devices, if that doesn't work you might have to wait to for a developer to start working on the phone as it was just released like a month ago. Still, most developers work on high end phones and the Fire XT is a low end Android phone, you might be out of luck. Hope something works out for you.

Thanks! I appreciate your help. I will give this a shot and keep this forum posted. A lot of folks in India have bought this phone and are looking for a solution to rooting.

Also, developing is not as simple as words outta the mouth, it takes quite some effort to port Ubuntu Touch even for flagship devices, let alone ours. Szezso has his own life just like ours, thus we must remember that he devotes his free time to dev for us for absolutely nothing. He is already busy with dealing with unfinished issues in CM11, don't bother bogging him down with another request, especially if the request is put forward casually.

If you treat it a question then why post it in the Dev section? General section is where these belong.
Additionally, like said above, Ubuntu Touch is currently very limited in function. As I experienced the "stable" version on my Galaxy Nexus 2 months ago, only calling, SMS and basic web experience can be guaranteed, many apps are just placeholders or won't work properly. So even if you somehow persuaded someone to build, your excitement won't last longer than 10 minutes, I can almost guarantee that.
