Hi,
I have a question regarding flashing a stock FW (ftf File) over fastboot.
Is this possible on Xperia devices?
If yes, how?
I have an Motorola Xoom, where I can flash FW (IMG Files) over fastboot.
But how to do it if I have a FTF File !?
Is there a way to convert the FTF-File in an IMG-File and flash it over fastboot?
Can someone explain it step by step??
Thanks in advance
Best regards
UserX10
There is flashtool that will do all the job for you.
If you extract the ftf file you will see lot of .SIN files.
I don't know how to convert them to .IMG

I know the flashtool and I´m using it very often
I know that the FTF-File is a zip File where I can extract the SIN-Files, but how to flash them all (the whole FW) over Fastboot or convert them to IMG??
I don't know if you know that

Hi gm007,
yes I know this - but that way I can only flash the kernel.sin and system.sin, or?
What is with the other SIN-Files?
Sorry no idea.

Can anyone teach me how to patch .bin files for flashing with smartflashtool ? Snegovik had succeeded in patching the recovery partition with cwm recovery , but i'm very noob and don't understand anything . There sure is a way to patch those .bin files , if anyone knows how to do it , PLEASE share !
You need Ubuntu or another linux distribution and this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22329293&postcount=106
Maybe this for extracting kdz files into bin/fls files:

I already know how to extract the kdz. What I want to do is get the cwm recovery inside the .bin file before flashing into the phone . Or even pushing the su binaries into the .bin file. Thanks for your answer though

The first link that nooby posted has the instructions to place cwm inside the bin file.
Trolling in the deep
Did you read my post at all? In the first link you ll find all the commands needed to put cwm inside the bin file. I think you cant add superuser, but I may be wrong...
And you need Ubuntu or another linux to do it.
Thanks ! Sorry for not reading properly

I know this method for kdz fileshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512203 and for bin files just use smartflash and in the end when the phone reboots into recovery you can flash the superuser.zip

That would not work
kernel.sin is the file in the ftf you need to convert. Flashtool has everything you need to convert it and get access to the files inside.
I tried to extract stock kernel from the ftf. I extracted the kernel.sin file and tried to flash it, but only got error in Flashtool. How do I find the correct file to flash?

just flash the full FTF, exclude everything EXCEPT kernel and tick NOT to wipe anything
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
or
using flashtool dont extract kernel.sin on ftf in firmware selection right side under " exclude" leave unchecked kernel rest checked

Flashtool, check all but kernel.sin and don't wipe anything
Thanks! Worked like a charm!
