Should I get the -update1 OTB for recently bought?

Just wonder if someone can tell me: I bought a brand new Nexus One Tmobile a couple days ago. I thought I would get the -update1 (ERE27) right out of the box, but surprisingly I didn't. However, I did receive the OTA update after a couple hours later though. Is it normal, hope it wasn't refurbished?

If it was manufactured and packed prior to the ERE27 release then I can't see any reason they'd unbox and reflash every device. I'd imagine they will ship and receive the OTA like any other phone manufactured during that time period. I don't think this is any indication it is a refurb.

[Q] Question. returning phone to bell

Hello i have a bell galaxy s and have had a lot of problems with it. I've had it for 4 months and it has gone it for service twice and is f#@kup again after havivg it back for 4 days. Has anyone had any luck returning a phone after this length of time and if so how did you do it? Even a trade for a brand new one or a desire z.
Thanks
I assume it's for the internal SD card?
Honestly, this would be my approach (2 times in 4 months in for repair!!):
1. Go to Bell store with receipt (if possible) and phone
2. Demonstrate that the phone is once again not functioning
3. Remind them that you got this back 4 days ago from repairs
4. Ask for a new one on the spot. No more waiting for repairs.
5. If they don't comply, get the store manager. Re-explain the situation.
6. If they still don't comply, remind them that a Rogers Wireless/Wind (or whatever carrier you choose) mobile location isn't too far away, and that being a highly dissatisfied customer with Bell selling and returning defective products isn't very motivating to keep you as a customer
7. Enjoy your brand new phone! (Hopefully).
I'm usually very aggressive in these kinds of situations so if I attempted this the police may need to drag me away, but honestly if you just got it back I wouldn't tolerate that bulls**t.
sorry to steal thread
but I dont have receipt since I brought it off craigslist..
Any tips?
Well i flashed a new rom and it seems to be working now so not sure what happend but im getting a little sick of having to carrie a spare cell around because i cant trust my galaxy.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I think full recall needs to be implemented. This is obviously a wide spread issue and Bell needs to step up to the plate.

[Q] Now on my 3rd Xperia Z?

I took my first xperia z out on a 2 year plan about 6 months ago that i rooted straight up and added a sound mod to, I didnt have one problem with the phone, i loved it! until i got some critical error saying process system is not responding a few weeks ago and a bootloop that was undoable.
So i sent the phone off for repair and they said it was dead and gave me a new one, i decided to keep this one stock just incase the root messed it up, after a week the new phone died again, it would freeze after say 1.3 minutes after boot and really struggle to actually boot up at all sometimes, so i have now sent this off again.
Im now waiting on my 3rd xperia z to come through and have been told if this one breaks then i can have a different phone! :good:
Im just wondering are sony devices just awful? the xperia z is the first i have owned and i am not impressed at all, or is there some sort of software bug in the latest update?
Im just wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble or do i just have bad luck? :silly:

maybe you had pitch. it sounds weird but it can be
I think a friend changed his phone(not xperia) also 3 times and it wasn't every time his fault ^^
But I don't have one problem. All works perfect, it's very smooth. Only battery time is a bit bad. But that isn't a big problem for me.

Should I restore to stock before I trade my phone in?

I just ordered my Nexus 6 today and I have until Friday when it gets here.
A really good friend of mine has worked at my local corporate store for 7 years. He said for me to just remove all my apps and information off the phone. All they care about when you trade a device in is if it powers on/off and there are no cracks in the screen. He said they even take them in if they have water damage.
So, should I waste my time returning to stock or remove my stuff and send it off? He told me it doesn't matter that I'm rooted and running a custom rom. They take them in and reflash them immediately anyway.
What's everyone's thoughts?
I wouldn't send my phone away with my stuff on there. Since restore takes so little time I would just do it
Right I won't leave anything on it of mine. I was just curious if I should use Odin and return to stock or remove all my info and whatnot and leave it rooted with a custom rom on it.
The last two phones I got from AT&T (Samsung Infuse and LG Optimus G Pro) I returned fully rooted with custom ROMs on them. They had me factory reset in store and took them as is. They didn't care. Hell, they even gave me $100 trade in for the Infuse a couple years ago.

Is the 5.1.1 already installed on new devices?

Hi,
I was going to buy one and there is no Stock till day 19. Do you think or know if they are going to be on 5.1.1 already?
Thanks
edit
It appears people are now receiving a mix of 5.0.1 and some 5.1.1 peinstalled.
Dec 31 update, I just received another 5.0.1 Fire (shipped 12/30). Amazon is still shipping at least some 5.0.1 Fires. The date molded into the inside of the back cover is Dec 14 2015. But of course that is only when that one part was manufactured.
There have been no confirmed reports yet of a Fire shipping with 5.1.1 preinstalled.
You may see a couple posts from people who mistakenly thought they got 5.1.1 preinstalled, they did not realize that the Fire will update as soon as you agree to connect to a wifi network & that amazon will not ask at all before installing it. Also the Fire will sometimes show a message similar to "updating system" when it's just optimising apps. This message has been confusing some users. It's just amazon's version of "Android is starting... Optimizing app xx of xx" and it is not an OS update. As of yet, no one who has known to keep wifi off has seen 5.1.1.
Got mine about 3 days ago and it had 5.0.1. Ordered Nov 27
Got mine from Amazon Prime Now last night, 5.0.1.
I buy 13 tablets for my family and friends the tablets arrive friday 11 just five arrived with 5.0.1 the other ones 5.1.1
Got one today with 5.0.1
So, there is no way to install CM12 on 5.1.1?

I ordered 4. They just came in today. All four are one 5.0.1, but the first one, on start up asked to connect to wifi. Once I did it immediately updated to 5.1.1.
On the other 3, I did not connect to wifi and I skipped the setup. Still on 5.0.1
Got mine today .. Skipped Setup -> 5.0.1 installed
I bought mine from Best Buy after the Black Friday sale, it came with 5.0.1.

Just how fast is your internet for it to download 600mb that quick?
Just received another Fire today (ordered 11/28 for $35),
5.0.1
But it has two white stuck pixels. Actually one of them appears to be a group of 2, so maybe 3 stuck pixels.
I just received a replacement for my Fire with stuck pixels.
It's 5.0.1 and it was shipped on 12/30. Amazon is still shipping at least some 5.0.1 Fires. The date molded into the inside of the back cover is Dec 14 2015. But that is only when that one part was made.
Just received one today it is a 5.01
I just got one replaced that had 5.0.1. Check thread below if you want to install ROM from new shipped tablet.
Basically, when first powering up don't setup WiFi then check in settings if still 5.0. If so and you want to install ROM, see this thread...

Actually if you want to install a rom you don't even need to ever boot up into FireOS.
Just go straight into fastboot.
If you can load twrp: Congratulations you have 5.0.1! Pass "Go", Collect $200 & Install your rom!
If you can not load twrp: Sorry, Do not pass "Go", Do not collect $200, Go straight to Jail! You have 5.1.1. Make friends with your jail mate Mr. FlashFire. He is in beta & a little buggy but he's your only option at the moment.

Agree, this method takes you straight into loading ROM from TWRP.
