Seeing as you are in Canada, if LTE (4G) connectivity is what you want, then you should get the ZL. This will also be good if you are high power user e.g playing games and videos a lot, because the battery is removable. You can therefore carry a spare battery with you, or get an extended battery when they become available.
If you can live with 3G or HSPA connection for internet, and like the premium slim and glassy look, get the Z. You also get to brag about waterproof certification. Not that you'll be making calls while scuba diving or in the swimming pool, but you can pour a glass of water on it to rinse it and show off!

I don't think you can ask that question just yet, I'm quite certain that no one here has the ZL yet.
That means that you would compare reviews (ZL) against real life situations (Z)

I am having tough time deciding which one to get as there is no place here I can go and check out both. I like how TX has smaller chin and thinner build than T. But, I have a feeling T might have better build quality as it has non-removable battery.
But the time, I decide we might hear about a Xperia Nexus or I might jump the wall and get Lumia 920.
TX. Better build imo and specs are pretty much copy pasta. And removable battery if you care for that.

TX is better than T but pretty mcuh same ... the specs are same but the design is diff.. so go for the tx

acro s or tx?? I am getting the acro s $100US cheaper.
Well, if you pay attention they could be totally different animals in one's eye.
T has LTE where TX is not.
Shape of both phone differs one from another. Even dimension despite being slight but is different.
Battery was mentioned that is different as in T there is a bigger battery but also its not removable and adds one millimeter to thickness of the phone compare to TX.
Just looking at TX's shape, I know which one I want.
Piiist, gut of both phones follows the same principle.

T doesn't have LTE.
Sent from my Xperia T
I'll go for Xperia T. TX is hard to find or deliver to my country.
Also, T doesn't have LTE and my country is on the same page so no problems with that
They are both great phones, and you wont be disappointed with any of them.
The TX feels slightly lighter than the T.
The T has a more solid feel to it compared to the TX.
The T has a flap on the left side that covers the sim and sd slots. If you don't like flaps, try going for the TX.
They are not exactly the same phone even though they use the same chipset.
I have both, so if you have any further questions just ask away.

which has better sound quality and battery life. I am not impressed with the Ts sound quality at all in terms of volume and bass and because i tried the phone in the shop i cant put power amp on it to see if that makes a difference.
I don't care about changing battery as I usually upgrade my phone in less than a year. But, I like the styling, power and volume button placements, and thinness of TX but I don't think it can be bought anywhere in USA with warranty. You can buy T from expansys-usa and get sony warranty but it involves sending the phone to expansys rather then sony directly.

Which one you want? I like the looks of TX but I am worried about US warranty and also how solid it feels due to removable battery cover compared to T which should feel more sturdy but I hate how the chin looks on T. Might be able to make it look better using a gelaskin to cover just the chin area. I saw Xperia S in sonystyle stores where only the chin part is covered with gelaskin and the phone looked sexier that it already is.
I am in a dilemma, I need a waterproof phone. I am thinking of the Z or the honami which is going to be announced on the 4th september with a potential october release date for the following reasons.
I know it is a rumour but i have heard about the honami potentially having a walkman s max music amp which would be good as I always felt the Z was a bit low in volume but I have heard that since the latest update it is gotten a bit louder which I am willing to work with.
Secondly the huge 3000mah battery
and lastly good 3g/signal
I am not fussed about the screen or processor speed or 20mp camera, so music, battery and good wi-fi/3g signal is my main priorities.
I am expecting the honami to be in the region of about £550 seeing as the Z was £520-£530 and honami does have beefed up specs, the Z is now £480 so potentially a £50-70 saving.
I have heard mixed reviews about the wi-fi reception and battery life of the Z and I would like to know owners opinions on the Z and what move you guys think I should make, should I get a Z now or wait.
Wait
I will sell my phone and buy honami when it will be out.
Edit: and i will make sure it's not UK unbranded

My main thing is i am happy enough with my s4 but its not waterproof and i got caught in the rain the other day and even though my s4 was in my pocket it was raining so heavily that my phone got wet and it has been a been iffy since.
I would have gpt the xperia z already if i didnt read so much about bad battery life and wifi signal
As tbh I dont really want to pay £50-70 more ontop of the z if the wi fi signal is good and the battery is good enough

its upon you what you want..xperia z is good and fabulous phone of sony..honami would surely be a beast but you know it would get costlier and costlier...i have never seen my xperia z lag when using at optimum speed...s4 pro chips is powerful n s800 would be more powerful next year qualcom wud announce more power chips as 3ghz chips are on its ways...
so finally think and make a wise decision because by november or dec the new phone rumour would start leaking abt sony next flagship

Indeed that is another thing to think about that next year Feb or March a new sony phone (next years flagship) will be out again and like I said I don't really want to pay £530-550 over the £480 for the Z (it could even be more). I will still have my S4 for back up.

Don't worry about the battery life, I had an S4 and sold it to buy the Z. The battery life is about the same on both.
However, I have noticed the wifi signal isn't that strong on the Z, disconnects sometimes. But I'm still on 4.1.2, gonna update to 4.2 and see if the wifi improves.

I decided to bite the bullet and save myself potentially £70 and bought a white xperia z this morning at p4u for £480, so far I am loving the phone. Haven't been able to test battery life yet but I am currently doing the software updates.
I hear stories that Xperia Z scratches and when you remove the screen protector infront the sony logo comes off. Its necessary that I get that Logo else its not worth it.
Also heard the back glass comes off when it gets hot etc.
Then there is the issue of non removable battery. What happens in 2 or 3 years when the battery goes bad?
These things are incredibly difficult to replace and where I live this Xperia Z will cost me $700 USD and I work for $3 USD an Hour.
What kind of battery does the Xperia Z use? and how many recharge cycles does it have?
john5220 said:
I don't care what you think about what I say.
I want the Xperia Z so am posting what I have heard the stories to see if perhaps I was misinformed and those stories came from early faulty units that might have been fixed by now.
Xperia Z is the best looking phone I ever seen but if the stories I read about are indeed true then it sure stinks IMO.
What I am wondering is the battery lifespan.
Can the battery in this phone last 5 years?

Depending on how u use it.. May up to 10 years!! but if u use ur phone to online and play games then having a removable battery is best.. I suggested that u buy a xperia zr which have a removable battery. Thus all ur problem will disappear  but then if u still insisting to buy the xperia z? Well train yourself to fit the phone limitations.
Sometimes littlest things makes the different..:good:
Didn't know the ZR had removable battery
Nice sounds like a good buy. I will check to see if its available locally and should be cheaper than the Z also
And with lower 720p the games should also run smoother thansame processor trying to run it in 1080p
The ZR looks like a real beauty.
One question is the SONY logo embedded into the display or is it on some sort of screen protector and comes off it the protector comes off?

The battery is replaceable but not user replaceable, you can head over to a Sony store to replace your battery, you will need to pay as well.

Sony ZR is a brilliant and practical phone.
The only thing I'm concerned about is zero development for ZR, i don't know why cos both Z and ZR are on the same chipset.
This was the same reason i didn't go for the S4 octa (lack of AOSP development).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2414
I can live with that
this ZR looks incredible. And I am happy its 720p and not 1080p since at these size the human eye cannot notice the difference.
Thats the best ad I ever seen
The screen coming off in heat thing must be crazy. I work outside and It's been 110 for the two weeks I've had the phone and I'm a heavy user. My screen on time hits 7 hours a day quite often. If I haven't had this problem then it's probably something you shouldn't worry about. It's a random defect in some phones out of millions it sounds like.
My last phone was a Xperia Arc (loved it, only issue was low RAM), I lost it and now I need a replacement. I need a cheap android WITH MHL or HDMI port. I came across Xperia T for 240€, which is good enough for me. I know every phone has its issues, so I ask you if you think this would be a good choice. Im suprised at how "cheap" it is with such a fancy camera and other specs (which I dont really need), but I cant find a decent phone that has TV-OUT within this price range.

Internals are almost identical, but...
Xperia V is waterproof, and is smaller, and is having removable battery.
Xperia T is having bigger display, is better looking (this is subjective of course), and is having doubled internal memory.
Comparing them side by side...
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4958&idPhone2=4899
...you'll notice that Xperia V appears to be slightly taller and thinner, and this is where Xperia T gets my voice for being prettier.
They are actually the same height, but V is 2,3mm thinner, and bezels appear bigger.
I was in the same dilemma three months ago, when I sold my Xperia Arc S, and I chose Xperia T, and honestly, I love this phone.
It's sexy, nicely built, and Jelly Bean is working quite good out of the box. This is the first phone that I haven't armed with some custom ROM.
It all comes down to personal taste really, when choosing between T and V. Some will say V, some will say T.
I say check some reviews, some videos, and make your own decision. Never ask for suggestion on public forums.

Im in Germany, and the XT is some sort of a really cheap nice deal, and its not same prized like the XZ. You pay nearly 100euro more for the XZ
You can get the XT round about 230euro +/-
But whatever, best argument for the XT is the look and feel and the displaysize-hardwaresize relation, better than on the XV.
And we have omnirom support, another good argument, if you like flashing custom roms

Yes the Z1 have the scratch film that removes the Sony logo if you remove it.I'm not sure about it as I use the Z only.Simply buy a case and cover so that it won't be scratched.
Comparing to the LG G2,it has 5.2" IPS display while Z1 is 5.0" TFT display.Other than that, all specs are exactly same.Of course,Z1 has the dust and waterproof IP rating...
So it depends on which brand you are looking for and try to get a hands on on both devices.

It is absolutely worth buying! Great original rom(my first phone without a custom rom), great dev options(damn, I just love Flashtool!), waterproof, great camera(manual or with Xposed), physical camera button, great specs and I also love the design! I always root my phones(first thing I do after a proper charge) and had ghosttouches! Was easy to fix, just changed the clearpad settings(root is needed because clearpad is a system file)! It is in my hands finally.
I've never seen such an awesome smartphone ever, and also i don't know if it is because i got the "newest" version, but the viewing angles are just great, i can actually see everything looking at an angle of about 140 degrees.
the phone feels so good, but the speaker is in a bad place, you cover it up while gaming, it heats up quite a lot when gaming but that was to be expected.
i still haven't risked placing it underwater thou, a lot of complaints of malfunction after doing that.
