So I updated my TL to JB a little over a week ago. This phone is doing the EXACT same thing my Ion did after I updated it to ICS. The phone starts shutting off at 4%, 8%, 10%, 12% and today it shut down at 15% Is anyone else having this problem? It's very annoying! And of course calling the people at SONY is less than useless. It's just weird and irritating that the same thing happened with my Ion. Any help is very appreciated.

The battery drains very fast even when I'm not really using it, it uses about 20% of electricity just for 9 hours of idle.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am also on 2.3.3 and constantly draining the battery completely and charging it several hours past the green light to make the most of the battery, but I still have to kill WIFI and 3G to even get it through ONE day, and that's only standby.
Donno if it was better b4 i upgraded 'cos I only had 2.1 the first day.
Thinking of getting the 3rd-party 1750mA battery, ASAP.
Also hoping the good guys can Root this phone soon, and warriorvibhu makes a swirling fast SUnAaBh-Sense-Rom for it. That would be fantastic!
I absolutly can't say that i have the same problem - actually, my experience is just the opposite.
Try to folow the steps in this post.
Yes there is an issue with the Incredible S dialer using a high amount of battery even while idling. This issue has cropped up after the 2.3.3 update.
The DHD is experiencing a similar issue. No fixes yet. Probably a bug in the ROM.
I just can't understand it. Why can't HTC make firmware that doesn't crave so much power? Don't they betatest at all?
I've tried the jkolner-trick vigorously and got a few hours more, but still not accepting i can't have it on standby for more than 24h. It truly SUCKS!
SO longing for S-Off so i can get the HD-Rom. Damn HTC!!!
Try airplane mode during the night, i went from 10-15% to about 3% overnight.
I had the same issue
Resetting Battery Stats solved my problem.

I am facing some weird issue with my Nexus One. At least once a day my phone shuts down all of a sudden! The battery drains out completely (0%). Actually I had fully charged the phone only sometime before the shutdown happened. It keeps on happening. Then I have to charge the phone for a long time. It is completely normal. This has happened even sometimes when the phone is in my pocket! It happens in air-conditioned rooms and when it shutsdown, the phone is not hot. Could it be a hardware problem? It happens consistently with every ROM and kernel (even with nandbackups which used to work properly a few months back). This is really annoying. My phone is out of support and I cannot send it back to Google as well.. Any help?
Did this problem start just recently? If so, you might be facing the same thing as nir0th and I, described in this thread.
My battery had always been quite good, and a few days ago it started draining very quickly. I've not been able to figure out what's causing it.
Drastic battery drain is different.. I am having something else.. The battery charge would be something like 60% to 65%.. The next second it becomes 0% and the phone shutsdown instantaneously.
That could mean that your battery is badly calibrated but I doubt it because one usually it won't be that major of a difference and two when you drop to 0% and charge back to 100% multiple times it should fix it so I will say it's hardware and it's dropping power somewhere either an internal part or the battery isn't holding a charge so I would get a new battery cause it's allot cheaper then if that doesn't work send it to htc.
Since the phone is no longer reliable, I started using another phone. Interestingly, the phone does not have any issues without SIM card! It just stays on for around 2 or 3 days without issue. Everytime I put the SIM card, the phone shutsdown in like 5 mins..
Could this be a problem with the battery or some other internal part? I have to tell one more thing. A few days before I started seeing this problem, I forget to take my phone with me from my car to office once. It was around lunch time when I came to pick it up. It was peak of summer (in New Jersey!) and the phone was like burning when I touched it. I wrapped it in a piece of cloth because it was so hot. I guess that is what is causing the problem....
I would be glad if this is only a battery problem
Thanks for all the comments.. Looks like it was a battery issue. I got my replacement battery yesterday. It's around 20 hours and the phone is running solid. Keeping my fingers crossed! I hope this is all for this issue...
My battery charge fluctuates, sometimes it goes up from 5% to 35%, sometimes it seems depleted (2%) and if I check in 15 minutes it's 10% and so on.
I'm running CM 7.2 and previously Darky ROM 10.2. Since this started happening I've used a couple of the top-rated battery calibration tools, but to no avail.
Any ideas? Is it a hardware problem? Or a driver problem with the custom ROMs? Or something else?
Try the following If you haven't already.
Charge phone until it says it's full.
Discharge until it turns off. Try to turn it on to make sure it's absolutely flat.
Do this again.
Then charge it periodically so that you keep the percentage between the 20 and 90 approximately, and see if it improves.
Repeat first steps.
Wiping battery stats and similar "calibration" has no effect on neither the percentage shown or battery performance.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it and see what happens. Any ideas to the cause of all this? Also, would buying a new battery help?
I don't really know the reason why this is happening, Li ion batteries can be somewhat of a black arts.
A new one should fix it anyway, and they're very cheap where I live at least

I passed through Same problem when i had updated my mobile to jelly bean for first time. But after 7-8 days fluctuates is decreased from +/-20% to +/- 2%. And fluctuates are gone after 20 days.
So dont worry, just wait for 20 days.
I have a Galaxy Nexus, not rooted, and it does this all day. 80%, 14%, 78%. All in a matter of minutes.
I'm discharging fully then doing a full charge to see if it changes anything.
My Sensation never did this and the apps I have are the same. In fact I've installed less on the Nexus...
same problem
i also have this same problem, check this thread...

no one gave me the correct cause or solution.i've done everything i can but no luck.if you get any correct cause or solution pls let me know.anyway I am planning to buy a new battery....
Hi,
i bought a new Z with no warranty in cambodia a few days ago.
It runs with it's stock OS (no changes made). Everything works fine and I think it's a great phone.
HOWEVER it charges very slowly, sometimes only 3% in half an hour. After a night of charging its often at around 70%.
During charging the battery bar always shows the charging sign. Once i got the message "unplug the phone to save energy" (indicting that it's full) at a percentage of 52%.
My friend bought the same phone, it charges very fast.
Is this a known issue? Is there a problem with the hardware or the software? Could it be that the percentage shown is just wrong?
Should I try to get the phone changed/fixed? (i'll be in that city only tomorrow and i don't know if i can expect help there (no warranty))
I would really appreciate your advice!

I recently updated my USA Xperia TL to the new 4.3 (.295). I used the central european Bond edition. I didn't have any problems, except for what seemed like unnecessary battery drain throughout the day. I updated to the .199 version (the Belgium version on this site), and my battery life improved during the day. HOWEVER, I have woken up both days since the update with a dead phone, almost missing work. Both nights, there was at least 50% battery left when I went to sleep, and it was dead 7 hours later. The system says that the Android OS was responsible for 54% of the battery drain, but it is much less than that during the day. Is there a setting that needs changed, or is this a problem inherent to the update?
Thanks
Did you flash US baseband or are you using 3G (HSPA+) only? I'm experiencing the same problem and the only fix for the battery life so far has been a Tasker script to turn off mobile data while the screen is off. It seems to me that Stamina mode doesn't work with our radios.
I have V. But I still would like to report I had never a high night-time draw as with 4.3, .199.
Here is my night time draw with 4.2.2.
