[Q] Overlocking o2x? - LG Optimus 2x

which program i use to clock my o2x? i have rooted ics v30b (india)
setcpu doesnt work

You can't overclock with the stock kernel. Go to the development section and pick a custom ICS kernel, then you will be able to overclock.

You can try kob 0.5, or civz kernels....but if you have no init.d support....not sure if all the functions would....
Better do a nandroid backup and then try this.....just to be safe

Try CivZ SkyWalker, you can OC up to 1.5Ghz (but it's too high, i recommend 1.3 Ghz) and you can OC your GPU up to 400Mhz.

If you install my kernel init.d is supported and the needed files are installed, but the user of a full stock rom will need to install busybox and be rooted .

GPU scales itself to max 450MHz it is not something the user controls. Read info in kernel thread.

[KERNEL] DookMatt 2.2.2 kernel with optimized OC and LG Lagfix

This is my kernel based on 2.2.2 kernel released by LG! This kernel has LG touchscreen fix and I've added OC from HERE, ext4 and btrfs support (btrfs is experimental) and VPN support (tun.ko module).
If you would like to use this kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/H3HQT7WMSY
Do not forget to make nandroid backup first.
Packaged in koush's anykernel for compatibility with any rom.
PS: Thanks to Mik_os for his patience
PPS: With my kernel I managed to use 806Mhz and it's works very well and it's stable for my phone.
Could you define optimised OC? How is it different from the OC supported by other kernels.
Thanks.

I used a new patch and this one, modify only 2 kernel files!
I can go up to 806MHz, which is really the top frequency my phone can handle. And amazingly enough, the cpu spike isn't there What changes did you make?
Work like a charm, but lack insteractive mode in setcpu and when you put it in power mode it stay at max freq. Thanks for your work buddy.
hope you include this on your next ROM release.... more power to you sir!
Dook - is it the same updated OC code that Mik used in his latest 2 builds ?

Arrrrgh this does not contain any of the patches needed by Gingerbread to function at least remotely fine .
Tried this kernel with LOLv1.2(froyo2.2) ROM,,Doesnt even stand up to SIppolo's super optimised kernel..After flashing this rom, phone got a little slower but like u said no more cpu spikes !!! THnx for posting

so this actually worked? would flash and and test it on some games. and would post my feedback after. Thnx!

Anyway, i prefer use my phone at 729MHz or 768MHz!
yep.
confirmed, cpu spike is not there.
thanks!
Can you define which is the LG touch fix? I thought that LG never released a fix for the touch bug...

can anyone confirm this?
is it just for 2.2 or is 2.2.2 affected?
Can I flash this kernel into my AmberHome ROM (2.2)?
it has so small transitions in speed like from 600Mhz u cud scale upto 645Mhz..I like this
EDIT: yes u can check it out on any rom..It will work on any rom as it is packages like koush's style

SetCPU on o2x, MIUI

Greetings Forum
I read that I could underclock my CPU for longer battery times with setCPU, however it asks me for what device and gives me a list of.. Stuff.
Which one do I choose?
I'm on MIUI, does the kernel allow over/underclocking?
Kind Regards

stock kernel can do underclocking i think.
you can choose the option Tegra, i did this with setCPU aswell
Thank you will try this
I've got it set to 600 max 200 min, is this ok? I'm not quite sure how all of this works, pretty sure this is underclocking (y/n?)
However, will this give me more batterylife?
Bump

no no no...
neoblaze not support miui..
look he is on miui right now..
if u apply neoblaze on miui and u will get bootloop..
im on miui and i use vorkkernel..
Sorry, wrong quote.. It was a reply to -Lovin'you!- post.
On miui or cyanogen vorkkernel is the best, for stock rom you had to use neoblaze or swiftextreme
On MIUI (which is based on Cyanogen Mod) use VorkKernel
On Stock and and Modaco Custom Roms (and other roms based in stock) use Neoblaze or Swiftextreme.
These allow overclocking. And I suggest you trying to use Pimp My CPU.

Overclock Kernel for XXLSZ

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a kernel to overclock my n7000 with XXLSZ JB.
Is there one available at the moment?Which one do you think is the best for this?
I tryed to download Hydracore but the link in the original thread is expired.
Thanks in advance!
Use an app called tegrak

Will it overclock without an OC kernel?
yes it works on Philz kernel
i tried tegrak and my note restart after few quadrant test in a row at 1.6 gzh oc in free version with stock mv value

its called instability.
some CPU cant handle that high frequency..
Recognized Distributorâ„¢
mine is on 1.6 OC and never had this issue. i have not changed the voltages though..

There are 3 groups of chips, some are better some worse some average for oc. Search old treads about hydracore.

Right now you will need to install a Kernel that allows for OC on top of your current custom ROM. OC Kernels are marked with "OC" so that you can find them easily.

you can overclock your device here http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/16813-kexec-code-kernel-42413/ i hope it runs good for you just flash in safestrap
Will look into this
Sent from my XT875 using xda app-developers app
This kernel is no longer being developed, so it does not incorporate any recent changes from the Cm builds.

Blurry 2.5 has a oc kernel built in with it. 1.2gig. Has CPU sleeper an custom governers with it.. Only bad thing is its on 4.1.2 not 4.2.2. In my opinion I'd rather be on 4.2.2 then gain 200mhz

[Q] question about kernels

do kernels that are overclocked to 1.7 ghz like WerewolfJB and iodak make the phone heat up and consume more battery than kernels that are not overclocked?
also another question, will i be able to get official updates when my bootloader is unlocked?

Heat up: Yes, if you clock it above 1.5ghz, if you don't plan to OC use non OC
Consume More battery: Yes, if you clock it above 1.5ghz, although roughly the same, if you dont plan to OC then use non OC
About the official updates i don't know, if NOT, someone is bound to release a thread saying theres a new version which means you can flash the kdz files :highfive:

I don't plan to OC as i'm not a gamer so i should use optimus prime kernel as it is not over clocked?
