Is it possible to mod the notification/soft touch button LED's?

Hi everyone
As a bit of a neek when it comes to things like this, I am curious to find out if anyone has attempted to physically replace the LED's under the soft-touch buttons on the I9000? The white is so boring...so maybe it would be possible to remove the current LED's and replace with other colours? Unless the hardware is not accessible due to its positioning under the touchscreen...
If anyone has had a go at this then I'd love to know
Thanks

If you are Slim, you can do that already.
System Settings - ASS - Navigation bar - Navigation bar color
For example, I matched to the theme's color.

I wanna solder the sh*t out of this bad boy! Why they didn't put colour-changing LED's in the first place, is beyond me!!

Really possible?
Maybe you should look at this.
h++p://www_formymobile_co_uk/galaxysdisassembly.php
(sorry i can't post links now)
From the last picture it seems that softkeys and screen are the same thing.
Anyway try to search google for "galaxy i9000 disassembly" or try it yourself

I think it is, but...
I found this video of some guy taking the SGS apart, but it looks a bit tricky.
Looks like you have to strip it down completely before you can get to the LED's. However, I guess if you can get to them, then find some matching LED's of a different colour, swap them out, then successfully put it all back together, it should theoretically work
The search continues....

Hey wait! I was digging on ebay for spare parts and i found this:
(I can't post links so serach "repalcement keypad galaxy i9000")
Have a look at a few pictures! There are two holes just inside the touch sensors. The LEDS must be somwhere else not inside the screen assembly.

:highfive: Oh cool! Is that your phone? Was it difficult to disassembly? Your is a though question... Try to gently peel the circuit off. GENTLY! I'd really like to disassemble my galaxy too so we could find a way to take the circuit off but unfortunatelly I'm not at home and have no tools with me.

O4X HD LCD screen

hi there.
i want to ask about O4X HD lcd screen. Is it normal that we can see a very2 thin horizontal line (maybe white or black) that is barely visible to our eyes? it is not a big problem for me,but just want to clarify with other users here. Maybe LG's true hd ips screen like that?
sorry for my bad english.
Thank you.
I've got the same thing. None of the reviews I've read online have mentioned it. Maybe our eyes are too sharp. I only notice it 20% of the time, so I don't mind so much.

Set your brightness at maximum and go to a white background, like the one from the settings menu. You should be able to see many small horizontal lines. But you only notice those when looking closely and carefully.

I believe you are looking at the sensor grids.... it's not a defect every Z has it, so no worries

Note 8 bug?

Hi i have an note 8 SM-N950U ( T-Mobile ) and the icons on the top are small, and the bottom part is like pushed, it feels kinda small and weird, i hope the images are clear
Icons small on the wifi-bar
I think the resolution is wrong somehow.

Somehow i changed it to 360 and stays the same, you see the first image with black part ? under the square?, in my view it feels like the screen is not full completed, that's why i said the icons are small

Download Screen Tester from the app store then use the GRAY #8080 screen then take a pic please. That tests the screen unifromity etc so will show better.

You mean simalar to the screen being fitted a bit too high. I think I understand. Mine is a bit too low. on the gray 8080 using Display tester I think the top of my screen is a bit too low, yours seems to be opposite of mine perhaps.

I downloaded Display Tester on mine using gray #8080 and noticed perhaps the top part of my screen is similar to the bottom of your screen. So mine is probably opposite of yours. Probably the glass black seal or whatever they use is slightly up on yours and down on mine.

[Q] Want front camera led to be used for notifications please!

So, lovIng my s10.. but the edge notifications are not to my liking.. I see that the circle animation around the selfie camera is cool.. This does this great animation when you switch to the selfie cam.
I have 2 questions..
1. Can or will this led be used for notifications in the future?
2. Does it have different colours?
Would be great if someone has some answers!
Thank you

Sound slike it's coming in the future but you can do this through Always On Edge. There's an option for the pixels around the led for a colored ring.
It works. However, the dev was a real Dbag when I called him out for hiding the true app purchase price inside of one of the "Watch ad" buttons needed to save the options to test this thing out.
Anyway, it's not a bad alternative. I don't like that it makes you do an extra step (i.e. thumb print twice), but it is cool enough for now.
Will give this a go, thanks pal

Thanks for this! I don't like the built in lock screen and like over a hundred options you have to choose from and add etc.... However it's so promising though as we now definitely know samsung has access to modify and set this as an option as said in the samsung forum I posted! Can't wait if samsung pushes this in the next update! :fingers-crossed:

I'm trying the always on edge.
The "camera edge" option or notch is not really working
Not a camera notification, but an alternative
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ledblinker&hl=en_US
or
NoLED https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730692 might work, but it didn't work well on my pixel on pie, worked fine on Oreo on my Tab S4.
They use the screen as a notification and have dots or icons that move around to keep screen burn in at bay. Doesn't work so well on LCD screens but nice on OLEDs with minimal battery use.
