Hey guys just picked this phone up today but for some reason when I open the flaps I get no water proof warning. Is there somewhere in settings I can turn this on?

Then I guess your notification LED doesn't work either. A factory reset worked for me.
Check out the url in my sig for more info v
The weird thing is I am getting LED notifications. Should I still do a reset?

hey ,
At my first boot I'v get a water proof warning but then I enabled " do not show anymore".
Is there a possibility to enable this message?

There are no sensors to detect if flaps are open or closed. The phone will just prompt the message when you unplug the USB cable or earphone, because logically that involves opening the flaps
Have done two complete resets and it still doesn't display any message when unplugging USB/earphones. Actually the only message I get is to unplug from the source to save power.
i don't have this warning too

Speakers work but they stop after 5 mimutes then ipress volume up button them they start working again. Can any body tell me what exactli is wrong with my XZ ?? Is is the software or hardware.. Send it for repair. That is the only course of action for water damage if drying the phone out thoroughly hasn't worked.

But we dont have sony repair support in out country. So you think its a hardware issue right??

Yes. As I recall from your previous thread about this, you powered the phone up after water got in, so it's highly likely that something is permanently damaged.

I doubt you would want to apy at the rates they charge. When I wanted to replace my screen on my arc they gave me a crazy estimate of over a £100. Just turn phone off open all flaps and leave it to dry for a few weeks.

Hi all!
Do you also get the regular notice to close the panels for the Z1 to be waterproof even that all panels are firmly closed?
Would like to know before I test it...
Hello,
I also get this notice. I already made underwater-pictures, my phone still works perfect

There are sensors that trigger these dialogs, I guess?
I've never seen it myself!

I don't think so at all. It's just random. I got it after a reboot. all flaps where closed.

Its just advisory messages thats all. I actually have never had this message come up lol but ive seen it on a friends.
This message can get really annoying i must admit as i cant get it to stop showing i dosnt seem to work.
it pops up every 30min or so, and sometimes twice, also mit sd card keeps getting disconnected?? anyone
else having these problems?
They are not random, they appear if the phone detects that you have used the microUSB-charger. Probably if you've switched microSD or microSIM as well, basically they show up when you do anything related to micro.
never had any such notifications at all. charging via micro usb flap so thats always opened.
i cant see there being flap sensors else it would be in the diagnostics app.
that and its not really in sonys interest to put them there

Makes good sense. I haven't had it appear after usb charge, but it could very well have popped up on me after the microsd change.

You've probably just ticked the "do not show this again"-box that present on the popup.
I get that message only after I unplug the phone from the charger, not frequently or randomly.

well it just shuts down then I have to power it on again. happens randomly. twice a day. battery lasts 2 days since it is large one. I restored stock and problem still persists. It did that on custom roms too. I do not know if it might be the eb40 causing it or what. I have done clean installs and everything but again no fix...
I had this problem with an HTC phone, although it would reboot, not shut down. Turns out it was a problem. with the Sim card.

I take it from your description of the phone simply goes dark without a powerdown sequence embedded boots normally only after you press the power button.
How long has this phone given you good service since the EB40 modification?
When you did the modification did you fully cut away the plastic frame?
After a set down will the phone we start without pressing the power button?
Has the phone been dropped recently? Is it in a protective case? These are the questions I had in mind what I ask you for more details.

I replied with the fix in the eb40 thread. Also you may need to calibrate battery, you can use program from play store for that.

Hmmm, interesting. I've had a few reboots after EB40 mod but I can't see how they could be related. :silly:
Guys I need help. Not sure if I should've created a new thread. My phone is not waking up. I've tried pressing the power button + volume up as well as hard reset but still the same. I'm not doing anything on the phone as in it's just lying on the bed. I was still using it before this happened. Just regular use. Tried charging it but notification area isn't lighting up. I hope someone can assist me on this as I'm getting worried...

and don't be obsessed with benchmarks

No I didn't. Before I lay it down to the bed I was using its camera and the phone was all fine, as in all fine then I put it to sleep. I laid it down on the bed to take a photo of it using my brother's phone and then when I was about to use it, it's not waking up upon pressing the power button.

Really strange. I've left my phone at home since I cannot use it for 3hrs and when I cam back it's still not usable and the weird thing is it's warm/hot. Do you think this can be resolved by a service repair? I wanted this for a replacement instead to be honest. I have two issues now on this phone. 1st is the yellow hue then second is this one. Do you think I have enough reasons for a replacement? This is purchased from an OL shop by the way it's almost 2mos old which is way beyond the 3-day manufacturer's warranty of the OL store.
well hope its not a motherboard problem. you can always try to bring it to sony service center.
if you have no warranty coverage then you will have to pay.
Connect it to the charger, wait for a couple of minutes, Hold VOL up and power button for about 3 minutes (or until it vibrates) and then leave it in wall charger for 1 hour. Don't try to turn it on!
Now connect it to PC, hold VOL up and power button, when it vibrates release everything and hold the volume down button (might need to repeat and try to get it in flashmode), if you succeeded in getting it in flash mode, try to flash a ftf from here using Flashtool.
Regards,
~J2C

Well I really do hope so. Up until now it is still not usable. I will just try to demand for a replacement even if it's beyond the 3-day replacement period as this is definitely something I'm not happy about.
hello everyone
today i used my mobile under water after i was sure that all the flaps are closed
anyway the water got into the charging flap and the sticker is red now also i got some water on the camera lines both the back and the front i tried to dry it with hair dryer but no use also the light sensor is not working anymore
help please :crying:
sony z and the water wasn't deep but it was little cold
Turn it off straight away, then put it in a sealed bag with some dry rice with all the flaps open for at least a week.
Do not turn it on again or connect it to power or USB until that has been done.
If you're lucky, this will dry the phone out and you won't have damaged anything.
