I noticed a strange thing with my widgets, if i do a reboot they wont update (time on clocks will remain the same). But as soon as i put it in the docking station and let the launcher change into landscape everything is fine till the next reboot.
Is that a new thing or does anyone know that behavior?
Edit: i got a rotation tool, so i dont need the dock to activate my widgets

It is if you need the infos of your widgets. And obviously it cant work since it updates right in the same second its switched on after it was docked.
Could perhaps stamina mode or low battery mode be interfering here?
So your widgets do not update because the signals are blocked \ only update once in awhile?
Seeing the fact you say they update at once when docked \ charging.
When docked \ charging I think these modes are ignored.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Low power isn't an issues, had this idea too but it also happens with a full battery. I dont have any taskkillers working btw.
Stamina is on, yes but its also on after i put the phone in the dock for a second and then everything is updating fine (i dont keep it docked). Also isn't Stamina only supposed to cut webaccess for non whitelisted apps? That would have nothing to do with a clock widget updating itself.
Downloaded a manual rotation tool to swtich the Sony Launcher into landscape, works too.

I've done a lot of searching, on here and on google in general, and still can't find a solution. Maybe I'm just not asking the right question...
I'm using Dutty's newest ROM, but had this problem when I was just using the stock Tilt ROM as well as when using an older one of Dutty's ROM's. I have the screen turn off after about 20 seconds, and when it comes back up the time is always off. It updates properly after about 1-2 seconds, but it's incorrect for the entire time the screen is off. This isn't normally an issue unless I want to use an alarm. With the clock not updating itself continually (like every non-PDA-type phone I've ever used), alarms don't work at all. I installed S2U2, and even with the screen waking up, once I hit the slide to unlock the phone that's when the clock updates. Not before. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Or am I missing something so obvious that I'm bound to get flamed for the question? Thanks in advance!
Mine does this too, stock AT&T Tilt OS for now, but my alarms and PhoneWeaver have absolutely no problem going off at their appropriate time. It looks like it's just not updating the video card with the current time while sleeping since the display isn't on. Not too much of a problem for me as I'm accustomed to wearing a watch, but I can see how it would be annoying for others.
Seems to me that's just normal for any computer when sleeping. My Vista machine and my Apple machines all do that too. When you wake them from sleep, the clock display is behind, but instantly updates once the system is back on line. The internal clock is still running the whole time of course, just the display does not update since the graphics system and cpu are in suspended mode.
Ya' can't very well have a computer go into power saving suspended mode AND keep real time things like screen graphics updated constantly.
P.S. My Tilt does it too, but alarms and reminders all work just fine.

I agree that the screen shouldn't need to be updated constantly during power saving mode, but my problem is that none of the alarms work, and I'm just assuming that the system clock isn't updated because the display is so far behind. I'll do some more testing today... thanks for the replies so far!
Is there any way to disable to docking app the runs in android 2.2? Its forcing my screen to go to landscape mode and opens the home dock app even though its not docked.
This is not an excelorameter issue. The excelorameter works fine!

once you have opened the dock app, you have to hit the exit button or it will keep coming back on.....it doesnt just run all the time
I have totally removed the home dock and the car dock from the phone since i thought that was what was causing my screen to go landscape and not come out of it. It was actually the built in Dock app thats part of android. I was hoping someone knew now to totally remove the app from the system.

LOL. There isn't a 'built-in' dock app that runs. Especially in captivate/i9000 roms.

Yes there is its known as Home Dock!
Ok I flashed back ot Eycar Last night, then upgraded back to froyo. I am currently running full stock rom with all the ATT bloatware. For some reason after a day working fine, something has chnaged the flippen home button to the stupid new home dock! Also my screen now is stuck in landscape mode!
There is something totally messed up with samscums release of froyo and I have had it! This **** must stop!
I want to totally remove there home dock app but some how they have integrated it into the operating system. This is what I am trying to remove! Or is this there way of saying use a custom rom!

there is nothing 'built in' and it has not been integrated into the operating system. desk home is an app. if you have launched it one time, even if you press the back button, it will keep coming back after you hit the home button. open up the app again and hit the EXIT button. car home is the same way.
think about it. if this was true, dont you think there would be 5000 threads on here stating the same thing that you are???
there isnt so its something YOU are doing on your phone causing this....i really dont know how to be more clear that this magical 'home dock' doesnt exist in the OS....its an app. you EXIT it after you have launched it, instead of using the back button....
MAHD
Official desk dock.
Apps constantly running:
-Battery Widget Reborn Beta
-1Tap Quick Bar
-My Data Manager
-LiveWare manager (getting smartwatch any day now)
i connect my MAHD to the dock and the menu for the docks pops up. the Office Dock and 3rd party docks work fine, but for some reason the bedside dock crashes and shows "Unfortunately, Smart Dock has stopped." I can sometimes get it working by restarting the phone while it's in the dock. it crashes very easily (just turning the phone to vertical position).
I like this dock and i wish i can find a way to make it work.
please someone help.
p.s. also had light flow lite running before and i think it messed up my accessibility stuff because talkback turns on with anything else turned on, i've since had the app removed.
thank you for anyone who spends their time helping me.

I have this issue too, it's actually the last couple versions of Google Play Music that is causing it (it's integrated in the dock). Reverting to Music version 4.1.513 resolves the issue, with some caveats. Uninstalling the Music updates will cause your settings to be lost, and furthermore it breaks syncing capabilities (music is missing in the account settings) unless you fully clear out the data. You will need to re-download music you had marked for offline availability as well.

Ah thanks for the solution, been fighting this before bed every night for a month now. Something about the bedside clock just makes it better than the standard one. Luckily I don't have any music or even much to sync so I'll give this a try.
Here is a link to a thread with the .apk for Google Play Music 4.1.513
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533816
I just installed this version, hopefully when I get home to my dock tonight it will have solved the crashing issue. As of last night, even rebooting while in the dock couldn't get around the crashing!
It seems that the latest update of whatever fixed the issue for me.
I'll have to update. Last night when I put my phone in the dock I got the message again, even with 4.1.513.
I'm now occasionally having a problem of it going into a black screen and not loading, but no longer having the stopped working error message
I am having to reboot every night.
A couple nights ago it powered down and wouldn't power back up. Was giving some sort of recovery error, a picture of the green android guy on his back with a hazard sign over his chest (if I remember right). Eventually using some combination of holding power and volume buttons I was able to get a clean reboot. Had me stressed out for a while!
I really miss being able to pull a battery for a reset when things go funky...

Oddly enough, I used the bedside dock every day when I was visiting family over Thanksgiving, and several days at work after coming back, then today I plug it into the dock and have this issue occur. Rebooting did not help. I also cleared data on "Motorola Dock Service" and "Smart Dock" which has helped with similar docking issues in the past. As others have pointed out, the other dock types seem to work fine. I just checked Google Play Music and the last update was on 11/12, so I'm not sure what changed and why it was working but will no longer work. Strange.
---------- Post added at 10:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 AM ----------
I wonder if the SmartActions app could be related to this issue. I know it updated on 11/28. Is there an alternative bedside dock application that contains most of the functionality of the Motorola one? I know Gentle Alarm is dock aware and the built-in Alarm & Timer app. I like the autodimming of the Motorola one, but if I can't launch it, it doesn't do much good.
---------- Post added at 11:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 AM ----------
Aha! See post 7 (and my reply in post 8) in this thread on Android Central. Essentially, Motorola Tech Support suggested the person clear data for Google Play Music, although my solution was to actually start playing a track.
I have got an Xperia Z C6603 and I just turned it off and turned it on afew mins later And now the apps won't open
They just blink and don't do crap all, but luckily my whatsapp opens if I keep clicking it like amillion Times but unlikely and so do some other apps but like 2 or 3 , can anyone help me and if you are facing the same problem, I have tried factory reset and it fixed the problem but it just happened again and I am not resetting it all the time
Another problem is I loose charge while using it while charging it. What kind of phone does that?:/ and sometimes it just stays at a constant charge but drops and I'm using the Sony charger in a mains socket and the phone gets super hot but I try cooling it down by blowing on it xD or putting it on a metal surface which cools it down pretty fast

I had the same issue and I know it started shortly after changing the stock launcher for the free Jellybean Launcher 4.1 from play store - and then I started putting apps in in the app draw into folders... I then decided I didnt like that launcher, and deleted it.. Straight after doing that, and going back to the Sony Launcher, the issue started (ie, you can press all the short cuts but they just wobble).. It was as if the 4.1 JB launcher (when deleted) stuffed up the location of the short cuts. This was on the unbranded AU 434 rom. :crying:
I ended up hard resetting the phone, and starting again, but avoiding using an aftermarket launcher and the issue did not reappear.
I've since gone to the UK unbranded 434 and no issues - but I've yet to use another launcher. No issues all good so far

here's what i tried, and able to replicate the issue.
Problem: icons just 'wobble' but not responding. Sometimes, need multiple clicks to get it working.
Resolution:
Noticed this occurs when using stock launcher, and in dev settings i turn off all the animations and transitions. ( i.e. window animation scale, transition animation scale, animator duration scale = off.
to rectify the problem, either completely turn off developer options, or set those three values to 0.5 minimally.
having done that, the issues have not recurred.
1: Sleep Mode
First thing I noticed was that sleep mode might work well, but there needs to be a setting to lock the screen while sleeping! I woke up and called 2 people, rearranged my home page, and deleted a few icons! Not sure how I was able to do this in my sleep, but more need to lock the screen! I solved this issue by turning off gesture wakeup.
2: Indoor workouts
How do they not have the ability to track indoor workouts such as spinning or general fitness? I was hoping by getting the Neo that devs could write their own fitness apps that fix Samsung's issues. Turns out Samsung isn't opening the SDK to developers for this! My solution has been to only track heart rate using the running app, but my calories don't get tracked.
3: Took it out for a 20 mile bike ride, the screen would constantly show me going 89mi/h... I mean I might have been going 19mph but 89?!? It wasn't just once, it was the entire time. The summary page showed accurate results but not live...

how were you able to get the speed to show on the watch ?
You can turn the screen off by going into the Display settings. Annoying? Yes, but that's the only way. Maybe Samsung will release updates and/or devs will come up with a better one.
Where is the sleep mode option?

Also went on a bike ride and my speed fluctuated up to 60 mph... I did track the distance in addition to having runkeeper on at the same time on the phone and the distance readings are correct. Just have to get this speed thing figured out. When I completed the work out, it did show my max speed as 23 mph, so that part of the tracking seemed to work out fine.

You have to be updated to the latest rom.
The latest software version should be ND8. If it is not, then you can manually update the rom by loading Kies3 from Samsung and connect the Neo. (there is a thread somewhere in this Neo Forum that explains!)
Kies will detect the software update and push it through to the watch. My update stalled the first time, and I had to repeat. But after that I had the sleep app in my apps drawer.
Good Luck:good:

Are you referring to running the sleep app?? If so, there's an option called blocking mode that turns off gestures as well as notifications while the sleep app is tracking your sleep. I use it every night and have had no problems with it at all.

It turns off gestures. I'll have to try that then. Although I would still want phone calls. It just needs more customization I guess.

1. For sleep mode there is an option in the sleep menu to enable blocking mode. Sleep function works independant so you can disconnect the BT connection.
2. I think this is an opportunity for exercise machien OEMs, think TechnoGYM, use NFC to sync such data, as opposed to their keys.
3. I suspect the fitness measurements (aside from HR) are not accurate.
Sleep mode works but they really should allow you to see the time when in sleep mode , you need to exit sleep mode to see if its time to get up

Correct. I use it most evenings.
They should add an option of a nag screen to remind you to turn off/on certain activity modes. IE- Still walking? if not, turn off pedometer. If it notices you're moving and pedometer is not on, ask you if you want to turn it on. Same goes for sleep sensor apps.

Also I have one gripe, I'm a flashoholic for phone roms. I have a Note 2. I find it very annoying that I have to wipe the Neo everytime I connect it to the phone with a new rom. Why can't it just keep the data on it? Messages etc not a problem, but sleep data, pedometer data and even clock and wallpaper all have to reset too.

You have to set alarm in your phone, gear 2 will indicate for you.
BTW I have a fav. free watch app, you can set alarm in this app on your gear 2.
