[Q] Xperia Z screen turned on with bluetooth headphones buttons... - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
it's irritating that when using my XZ in the pocket and e.g. changing the played track with my MDR-R1BT button the screen is turned on :| That's a waste of energy ;|
To sum up:
Situation:
- headphones connected via BT
- music playing from Walkman app (same with PowerAmp)
Event:
- headphones play/pause,next,previous button trigger screen being woken
- phone volume buttons also wake the screen

Anyone has any ideas how to prevent this from happening?

Been using my BT headset for a month now, don't have any of these problems.
What happens when you use the walkman app?

Media Player prevents screen from turning off inreasing batt consumption

I have a Tilt and I wanted to know if this is normal or if there is a fix.
When playing music the screen will not turn off and uses up batts pretty fast. It jumps to the most dim backligh setting but is still clearly on. Is this normal or is there a music player that doesn't cause this issue?
Forgive me if this has been posted. I did a bunch of searching but there was a lot of noise regarding music skips and glitches.
I assume you are talking about the built-in Windows Media Player. In the options you can assign a button to turn the display on/off. Hope this helps.
hi there. while using the built in media player i have found that i can actually press the power button momentarily and put the device to "sleep" while still running media player. it will jump a touch but then resume. if you are using bluetooth headphones you can still control volume, play/pause and skip track. this makes the battery last much longer.
found the toggle screen option. Thanks guys!

no music thorugh earphones when fone is on vibrate

When you set the phone to vibrate mode, both the ring and system vol slider slides all the way down. This causes no sound in anything even with using earphones when playing music and watching movies.
Does anyone have the same problem and have a fix for this?
Thanks in advance
Yep, same problem, and so does everyone else.

when you put it as vibrate it turns off all phone sounds (it is standard in all windows mobile phones) if you turn the volume up and put the headphones in all phone sounds will go through the headphones.
Sounds like a non problem to me. What would you expect if you have the volume turned all the way down? No sound. If you have head phones and plug them in then turn of the volume. It'll only be in the head phones.
Nah, the problem when the headphones is plugged and sound is turned on. If the phone rings, it still rings through the speaker (not the headphones). So if i'm in a library or something, i can't listen to music without turning the sound on. When the phone rings it will disturb everyone. All my phones i used before non-windows phones from nokia and sony ericsson still had music through the headphones even if the phone was on vibrate.
Ah I see what you're saying now. Personally I see it as a good thing. If I had the phone charging, i.e. not in my pocket or where I could feel it, and was on BT stereo headset but didn't have it plugged into my ears then I would be totally unaware that I was receiving a call. But I must say that I'm not in the library often (last time was probably about 1982) and I don't use vibrate at all really.

display doesn't turn off while playback with headset

I use Mortplayer to listen music from X1. I just launch player, plugg in headset, push "Play" button on screen, then I push "Power" button on device, screen turns off, but music continues to play, so I can put X1 to the pocket and listen music.
I did listen music this way before, about a month ago.
But today something has changed with device, because when I push "Power" after plugging headset and starting playback, the screen doesn't turn off, but only dims out instead, staying at low brightness.
Does anybody know, how to make "Power" button to turn screen completely off during playback with plugged headset again?
ROM - R3AA007
Thnx in advance.

[Q] MIUI and wired headset

Hi there,
I have a problem with my headset. I can only end a call with it. I am not able to answer the call nor play/pause function.
running *#*#6484#*#* the phone failed to correctly recognize pressing of the buttons with my headset. I correctly play music after pressing it once, but there is no way to pause the music, playing the music works only in this test menu, outside of that there is no action after pressing the button.
I am using Galaxy S with default one-button headset provided by Samsung.
All apps to control headset like droid headset cant recognize that my headset is connected.
Can it be fixed some how?
best

bump, same issue, also described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16802117#post16802117

[Q] Skip audio tracks with screen off?

Is there a way to skip audio tracks with screen off?
Perhaps with a volume button?
You would have to get a third-party player like Poweramp app
That sucks. So there's no way to skip Pandora or Pocket Casts without turning on the phone?
+1. This used to be a feature added to ROMs in the old OG Droid days. Anyone else?
With headphones that have buttons with the mic let yo change the song double pressing middle button excluded from the volume keys
