[Q] Please help - How to "Flash Recover & Reboot" - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys,
I am new to the whole android stuff . I have been using the Galaxy Note for almost an year but never rooted it before.
I rooted my "Galaxy Note " ...yesterday .. with the wish to load "the New Note 8 " on it .
But here is my problem , many articles on the forum says " FLASH Through Recovery & Reboot ". I am just clueless.
I tried to search this forum and the net but every article talks about flashing the ROM ... Please let me know how I can just flash the app alone.
I very badly need the floating keyboard from "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228836" ( Galaxy Note 8 - Floating Keyboard).. So that I can stick with this Phone and dont have to go back to the blackberry .
I have been using the Blackberry for years and the only this i still miss is the keyboard from the blackberry ...
GURUS ...PLEASE HELP OR KINDLY RE_DIRECT ME TO A THREAD THAT DETAILS THIS .
Thanks a lot , Regards, Allenaero

Hey, Good going with rooting your device. If you are sure that you have successfully rooted your NOTE and you have a custom recovery installed then reboot your phone while holding volume up+home+power button. keep holding them till the time the phone reboots and release only when you see the samsung logo, this will boot your phone in recovery.
After this simply select install from internal sd and select the zip file of note_8_keyboard.zip and hit install.
That's it.
if you don't have a custom recovery then install ROM manager from play store and flash using that app.

I had this problem with one zip file.. Don't remember through which one I successfully rooted.I'll be back in a bit.
Do you have stock recovery or already CWM..? cause you know if you flash clockworkmod first then you cant root through it.. you just have to go back to stock recovery --> root --> and then back to CWM. Of course if you HAVE stock recovery now then I dont know.
Try the other zip file -Ace Gingerroot...i guess you found this files at android flip.com so youll find this ither file over there ...cheers p.s. That update.zip dindt work for me too but thr other one did
Edit: u gotta download cwm 4 or 5 (i prefer 5) to b able to root..ull find these files and tutorials here in xda or at androidflip.com....just google it..
P.s. I m not a marketing agent of androidflip.com...i just like thei r work XD

well i dont know anything about what you said in the terms haha.
i am a noob just bought the new device and went to youtube. saw the upd_1
file and did as per instructions.
Also its very annoying to go in recovery mode. i mean i press middle button and
then power up but it just starts normally. i do 20-30 restarts and by fluke once
it gets into recovery mode lol. what am i doing wrong?
just cant get into recovery mode at one shot.
I have downloaded root.zip file from xda developer.will it work?
First press thehome button --keep it pressed and then press the power button till screen comes on..u should be in recovery mode...if u r new to android i suggest u do some research on rooting-pros and cons ..some good ones can be found at androidpolice.com....and never mess with rom.manager or flash wrong cwm recovery on your phone--YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!!!

One more thing on stock recovery u dont get into recovery mode at one shot...i guess samsung dont want users to mess up their phones ..its ok to try 5 times..25 times is a lmfao XD XDX DX DXD

I'm not good at this , I've tried with odin .. but it gets stuck ... please someone kind enough , help me get it back to its default state ... i have no idea what I'm doing here ... and i'm kinda desperate i need the phone asap

use Kies recovery procedure http://www.4shared.com/office/koYpRWc1/KIES_update_recovery.html
Flash a i9001 rom using odin
so I've been trying for 5 hours to fix my semi-bricked phone and I can't do anything .... I've tried with odin 4.43 and some stock ROM-s ... but it gets stuck ... god damn it what should I do , i have no warranty ... GSM service , do they know how to fix things like these? it seems complicated
http[dots]//img18[dot]imageshack.us/img18/6763/96005243[dot]jpg ---> i get stuck with odin here
L.E
So I finally managed to fix it with AiresVE.ops , MultiLoader Odin v.4.43 and an official ROM from sammobile , it took 8 minutes but I had to do it on my laptop. Thanks for everything guys.
Hi,
some time ago i got the same problem But don't worry it's easy to solve..
Just download this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694617
and download this one to get a stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032437
or i recommend the broodrom which is based on the valuepack an works just flawless on my i9001
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696381
then copy both .zips to your external sd and then boot into recovery (press vol+ and power button.. wait 3-5sec and release.. when the android thing & a box appears press and hold the home button (the left touchbutton))
if you're now in the recovery mode, click on "install update via zip" or something like that..
then you navigate to your external sd where the 2 files are
then you install the teamwinrecovery (zip file) after that you shutdown your system (pull the battery^^)
then boot again into recovery and you will see a new recovery (it's the teamwinrecovery)
this can be controlled with your touchscreen
now you click again on "install update via zip" or something like that an navigate again to your external sd..
for that you should navigate on the tip level and open a folder called "emmc"
There you install the other zip (it's your rom) an wait until it's finished
it will reboot automatically
If you get stuck in a recovery loop you should flash the bootloader with odin.. (instructions are given in the teamwinrecovery thread)
Good Luck and sorry for my horrible English
You can send me a pm if you have questions

[Q] Galaxy Mini Bricked With Black Screen

Recently I bought my phone and installed ROM manager which i then proceeded to install CWM recovery and since there was no choice for my phone i chose the first one. It then asked me to reboot and i accepted and then it went all black out. It could not accept any key combination. Then after resurrection it could enter download mode but would end up not flashing but with an error message BML FORMAT FAIL-90220000. I then flashed arm11boot for gt s5570 and it flashed successfully but on restarting it went to another problem-bootloop. I tried re-flashing but it it came up with the bml error again, so i again flashed arm11boot and it went black dead..... it wont enter download mode but can enter recovery because when i press the recovery key combination it installs around 4 drivers but none is odin's. the screen lights up when i switch it on and can charge the battery but whenever i try to flash any rom it gets stuck at setup connection. Please help me ..........
Oh... C'mon ! We already talk about this... No ROM Manager for Mini ! :silly:

ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.3 not working properly

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy i9001. I just recently installed ClockworkMod v6.0.1.3 non touch.
The problem is that when I press the volume keys, the selector goes up and down. When I press the Home button, the selector goes up and when I press the Options button (the one on the left), the selector goes down. The Back button and Power button do nothing.
So basically I can navigate, but can't select any options. What can I do now?
I tried flashing with Odin but it gets stuck at <ID:0/006> SetupConnection.. -> tried with 1.84, 3.07 and 4.43 (at 4.43 I can't select the PDA button, it's grey). They all recognize the phone but won't set up connection.

From what I understand, your CWM works but you don't have a ROM to flash? Well take out the SDcard, put it in a card reader / your mom's phone etc and copy Cyanogenmod for i9001 to it. For example I used this mod on my i9001 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212409
After you copy to external SDcard, put it back in your phone, choose "update from external SDcard" in CWM and choose the zip you downloaded from the link above. You can choose any ROM from there, this is just an example (I used it). Don't forget to put google apps (gapps) too, or else you won't have Google Play etc. You flash them just like the ROM (after you install the ROM don't restart, flash Google Apps).

CWM 6 is not stable and you can't install anything other than KitKat roms with them. So the first thing you need to do is flash your stock rom back using odin. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (go to the "Preparation" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

If you are still interested in installing Kit Kat rom, then you can use the Kit Kat for all by @Salim El Yabouri which can be flashed from CWM 5. Here is the link,

Wrong device thread buddy. This is Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Q/A
Fix
My friends ace (S5830), was stuck at samsung logo after flashing a 4.4 ROM, It was able to enter
1. Recovery Mode
2. Download Mode
3. Other mode, which I do not know what its called (Accessed by pressing volume up + volume down + home button + power button)
I tried to flash it in Odin but it gets stuck at SetupConnection, so I tried to flash it with This, but unfortunately, after this, it led to black screen only, no download mode, no recovery mode, only the unknown mode (Accessed via all button press, the third method I have said), which I know that it is working because my laptop detects it. I just wanna ask if it is STILL Fixable by using Odin, Haimdell, or other software (only) available online or will it be only fixed by sending it to Repair Centers, TIA!

You usually get the "setup connection" error when you are in the Emergency Download Mode instead of Download Mode. You go to Emergency Download Mode by holding down Volume Up + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it loads a screen that says "Emergency Download Mode" and you go to Download mode by holding down Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it does load the correct download screen with the yellowish message that say "Downloading…". Please make sure you are going to the Download Mode. Then you installed a rom which was not meant for our device, thus bricking it in the process. The rom was designed for Galaxy Ace S5830i and not for our Galaxy Ace S5830. You have basically hard-bricked you phone and that's why you get the black with no mode accessible. So far none of the hard-bricked users were even able to solve this problem with USB Jig. Better go to Service Center. Here is the link to similar situation,

For starter's, the key combination for Download Mode in Ace is Vol Down+ Home+ Power Button and not Vol Up+ Vol Down+ Power button. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check the "Preparations" section),

If your PC cannot recognize the phone, its usually the drivers. Once installed, go to recovery mode and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart.
