He can use just kernel, but we do not have much P users that can provide him that. Use your firmware, remove md5 extension at the end of filename. Open it with winrar or 7-zip and remove everything except kernels. And flash it with Odin.

XXLPD stock kernel
Here is the Odin flashable XXLPD stock kernel.
Use only i9070P.
Download this: deleted
Run Odin as administrator. Add the xxlpd_kernel.tar.md5 files in PDA section.
Reboot the phone in download mode and flash the file.
So that the original kernel will be on your phone.

It's better that you upgrade to jellybean and then root. Here is the guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198341
I am also running 2.3.6 Gingearbread XXLK2 COA Romania region and looking to root. I tried the stock JB firmware from russia with root and CoCore and it's still having lag. My best option is the gingearbread for my country.
Now, my question is how can i root it?
I searched every link in xda and google to find a way for my specific firmware & country but with no results....
I found a thread in xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985199 where diego can pre-root the firmwares and post it there but i cannot post a request cuz i'm bigginer on the forum.
Can anyone help me?

Look for Qzem method, have all explained there. Just you need to repack kernel. But I explained couple times there how to avoid it. After rooting just use Triangle away to reset binary counter.

Thank you very much for the fast reply. I will go to find it and post here if any results .
Edit: Ok. I tried to to repack my kernel with Cygwin and got an error :command not found.
Could it be a faulty instalation of Cgwin?
Hello. I'm from Romania too, and running JB (Russian LQ4 fw), with CoCore, debloated, and working like a charm. No point to use GB to me, or to install another ROM at this moment. Prehaps a stable CM or MIUI.
So, my advice will be: install JB, root, debloat with Titanium Backup, run Greenify and flash another kernel. No more lag
If you have questions send me a PM.
Good luck!

Sunt total de acord cu tine, highmage.
I'm tottaly agree with you, highmage. More stable is LQB from Serbia, rooted and debloated with custom kernel like CoCore 6.2.
Mine russian fw is working great, and is too much trouble to install another fw, root again, install applications, and all the rest
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
I tried the jellybean with and without root, with and without cocore, serbia and russia fw and it was allways laggy. The ram memory was allways full, at about 500 or so being occupied. Some apps like Fx guru didn't even start becouse of lag... The GB fw is more practical and stable in my opinion. But to root it it's kinda complicated, on JB it was more simple.

Option 2. Take firmware file, remove md5 extension. Leave it with something.tar. Use WINRAR or 7-ZIP, open it and remove all exept kernel.bin.md5 from it. And you have Odin flashable stock kernel that you need. Or flash CoCore for GB (I think there is some Odin flashable CoCore for GB), some user did that with no problems (used it as that second one that you need to flash from guide).
I was able to remove the kernel from the firmware file. The problem was when i tried to use Cgwin on that kernel file. I will try tonight to get CoCore for GB and post the result .
Thanks .

No need for cygwin. Just read once again, more carefully now. You get file that you need by removing rest of the files. You leave just kernel.bin.md5 and you have Odin flashable tar file.

Ok. I get the whole process. Flash rootkernel to get root access but with buggy kernel, then reflash with only stock kernel (without the rest of the files inside the firmware) to have stock kernel flashed with root.
Now, i am facing a new problem . I didn't know how to remove all the files except the kernel.tar.md5 file so i extracted the whole archive, deleted all except the kernel file and then added to new .tar archive.
As espected, i get in odin the following error:

Who said that TWRP is not compatible with Jellybean? And no there is no risk of bricking your phone if you flash or update to Jellybean (but don't flash the Chinese firmware - I've heard that some people bricked their phone by doing that)... Just be sure that the firmware you will be flashing is the "right" one... I suppose that you are running the Indian Gingerbread firmware - so you can officially update to DULP8 (but backup all you data, apps, etc . first)... And yes, root it and install CoCore E 6.2 or 6.8 kernel - it has TWRP 2.5 with it...

Ok but it is written that cocore kernel 6.8-or-something version is only compatible with jb. And I meant that flasing twrp when on jb is not supported. It was written on the thread. And by the way I am on JPLK2 firmware so is it safe to flash that kernel over twrp?.. I'm relatively newb to kernels but not custom roms, so it may seem like a noob question... my apologies

No. Galaxperia is jb stock based rom. You need to be on jellybean first to flash that. Once you're on jb, you can flash with either twrp/cwm. If you flash that while you're on gb, you're gonna stuck at bootscreen.

Custom recovery (TWRP in your case) is on the same partition as kernel is. By flashing stock firmware kernel partition is getting wiped and new kernel with stock recovery will be instaled. First try to understand what is happening when you do something, and you will not have anything to worry about.
Againg what is already said - you can't install JB custom ROM on GB, and you can't install GB custom ROM on JB. Flashing firmware with Odin will not brick your phone, but only if you use firmware for your phone. If you have I9070P, I9070 firmware will brick it. And otherwise, if you have I9070, I9070P will brick it. Hard brick.
If you want TWRP you have to install kernel with TWRP embended in side of it. Rooting will not harm your phone, it just insert SU file that enable having root permissions.

If you want CRT off effect you need CoCore kernel, that you installed. If you want stock recovery - you need stock kernel. And with stock kernel you can't use CRT off. You can't separate it, because we have one partition for both kernel and recovery.

To get stock recovery back, you need stock kernel because it can't be separated. Unpack it from the official firmware and search for kernel.bin.md5. However, if you're using stock recovery, crt-off won't work and it's troublesome for not having custom recovery to flash anything (be it custom roms/custom kernel/scripts/fixes/updates/apps in flashable zip/themes..etc). You can do it with temp cwm but then, more work for you.

Yes. Remove md5 extension, open it with WinRAR and take kernel.bin.md5. You can use it with Universal Kernel Flasher. Next what can you do is to open it with WinRAR too, and erase all except two kernel files. You can use that file after that with Odin.
So kernel.bin.md5 is the kernel file and i can flash it with universal kernel flash, right?

Second, if you need advices, you must give us some more details, like what version of Android you have (GB or JB).
Third, for CWM or TWRP you must flash first an custom kernel, and the only one custom kernel wich have development is from cocafe (CoCore E XX this is for 4.1.2 JB stock)
Steps:
1. Download and install UKF from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137598
2. Download and install an custom explorer (search on Google Play for ES or Solid or any other you like)
3. Download kernel zip and extract the file with .md5 extension and put it to SD Card (external).

You will not need to buy new phone. Just download stock JB firmware and flash it with Odin.
You can find firmware on samsung-updates.com - just do not flash I9070P firmware on I9070 phone, or I9070 on I9070P (it will HARDBRICK your device).
How to use Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1985398
What was the name of kernel that you downloaded? Name of that zip.
If logo is not appearing nd it only vibrates then can odin method b used?

Volume Down + Home (hardware key from the front part of the phone) and Power at the same time. You used those? Pull out battery, put back in and retry.
P.S. You did not tell what zip did you used.

Again. Link is for CoCore, you did not write what was the zip name.
And again, did you try to pull out the battery and retry to go in download mode. What buttons do you use for getting in download mode?
You must give us more information that we can help you.
Volume up plus home button plus power button
