Let me start off by saying that I'm really enjoying my HTC one, it's great and phenomenal. I'm hoping HTC will make a great comeback with this phone, but here's a question: What would they name their next phone? Maybe they'll just go with HTC Two, but that sounds pretty silly. Hopefully they won't take a step back either to last year's models.
"It takes "two" to have a good time."
Future slogan

Well... First they released HTC One this year then they released HTC First(Facebook phone) I won't be shocked if the next phone they release would be HTC Uno

Does anyone know of any good phones coming to T-Mobile by December 2010 of this year? My upgrade ends in December, and I really want a new phone, lol. This G1 is started to become really outdated and I was selling some stuff to Walmart to make some money and saw they had phones like the Nexus One, HTC HD2, etc that are all better than the G1 currently. Do you guys think I should get one of the current phones out right now and if so could you suggest one, or is there a promising phone coming by the end of this year that I should just wait for? Also how much would it cost to renew my 2 year upgrade since it isn't up yet? Thanks.
http://phandroid.com/2010/04/16/what-phone-are-you-getting-in-the-next-4-months/ Something to check out, HTC Incredible on Verizion. But then again Verizion is cdma if I'm not mistaken...HTC Legend looks slick also.
Thanks for that. Seems as if T-Mobile is only getting that Samsung Galaxy right?
ill name some. ummm htc desire, htc hd2 mini, htc g3, htc snapdragon
G3? Is that new G1 or something, lol.
Why on earth nexus one is more expensive than desire??
For me, in the US, the desire WAS more expensive, since it was not subsidized. Now it can be, and it's 1/3 the price. Every smart phone is going to be in the $500-$600 range at full price. I see the Nexus One's pricetag of $571 (i think thats what it was when I got it) being reasonable, since I'm buying it off contract. The Desire's pricetag was more since I was forced to buy it from a random website. If I was lucky I would be spending $600.
I guess nexus one need to be more at price tag compare to htc desire cos google put more effort on develop software n hardware pick choose but later those htc just take all the credit n copycat the google ideas into other htc phone include the stupid desire. I never be a fan of htc phone cos they are from china company and sell their phone more expensive. I buy nexus one bcos of google n hate the htc logo on that phone. Why google choose stupid htc to manucfacture their google phone.

i checked the price in most of the sellers, it's Between 60$-100$ difference...!
Come on HTC is VERyVEry GooD, Why dO U hAtE HTC So mUcH..?
Another question, do u prefer trackball one (in nexus) to optical one (in desire), Why?
I thought HTC was a US Company? The build quality of HTC phones are usually very good. Plus both the Nexus One and Desire are built by HTC.
The reason why the Nexus one is so expensive now is that you CAN'T buy it anymore from google. So if anyone has a new Nexus One... it will go for a pretty penny. The Nexus One is so desired (pun intended) because of the first hand google support that we recieve.
We've had an Official Froyo rom for months where every other phone is just starting to roll out soon. This will be the same with Gingerbread as well... where MOST phones today, if any, will ever see Gingerbread officially.
The Desire, like other phones, will only get hack n' slash Gingerbread roms.

HTC made the Desire and the Nexus One. Google only produced the software.
Officially HTC announced plans for a 1Ghz 2.1 device with 576 RAM before they started producing the Nexus One for Google.

HTC are a Taiwanese company.
If you put High Technology Corporation into Wikipedia or Google you will find their true roots!
It's more expensive because it has that fancy audio chip with dual mic noise cancellation that Desire doesn't have.
N1 is more expensive cos its the king
Also, the N1 is a Developers device which gives it many more options...
Fancy Audio Chip, What's it for ??
Do u prefer nexus one to desire with 75$ cost more, Or u Choose desire..?
Anyone going to switch from the vivid to the One? idk how i feel about htc after this phone, i mean its a great phone and all but htc bent us over and showed us the 50 states. thank god for the devs. But the phone looks awesome and its sleek as hell too.
I will be ordering one as soon as its available. 1080p display, 2gb ram, infrared behind the power button (I've missed that sooo much in my smart phones since my Treo).. I'm excited lol

Wait about 2 months and HTC will probably come out with another revolutionary phone
What happened to the Droid DNA? The DNA has only been out for 3 months and HTC is already forgetting it.
I believe the answer is somewhere in the neighborhood of "When donkeys and pigs gain aerodynamic and sustained aerial motion" or the successful cloning of a flying Pigasus, whichever happens first... I'm tired of the 1 software upgrade and we're through with you mentality, the fact that you had to do a physical hardware short circuit to S-off and the point that the HTC One contains no easily changed battery, no place to put a microSD card...no, no..(clickty clacky keyboard noises) Computer says NO-o-o-o-o!
The DNA was released for Verizon only. All other major us carriers are getting the one, except verizon. HTC has already announced that 'the one' will be the only one series device in 2013. I understand everyone's setbacks. But I'm not passing up on a hardware beauty like this one. Not to mention it looks like every major dev team is planning on getting at least one. Check out the thread in the one general section to see who all is on board. Also everyone's favorite dev will have one too lol @jon

I agree the specs and looks of the phone makes me drool.they are not releasing the one for Verizon cause of the dna
So I guess they haven't completely forgotten about their customers haha. But I do want the phone real bad. Also I'm curious to see since its the only flag ship they are releasing how often they keep it updated .

Despite the incredibly large amount of times HTC pisses me off, I still plan on getting the HTC One as soon as I can afford it. I like the Vivid but The One looks like a phone I am actually willing to buy at the non-contract price

Wait.. this doesn't mean you will stop developing for the vivid, right?
The one actually is appealing though. And HTC is actually doing a good job marketing, unlike the vivid lol

Nope...I'm going back to Samsung...gonna get me the sgs4 as soon as its released...I mean...its gonna blow everything out of the water and every dev team will have one guaranteed...not to mention how easy it is to root and flash rims on Samsung devices...no locked bootloader to deal with...no s off to deal with
I gave HTC a shot and I'm done with them :/ I hate having to unlock the bootloader...and s off - that's just stupid...they honestly make it so hard to customize your phone...heck it be easier to jailbreak an iPhone than get an HTC phone setup for Rom flashing, then you got the crappy source...and extra security measures...(in-call Mic issues for att users) - who's to say they won't do the same on the one....if the s off process is anything like the vivids...well good luck with that as I'm pretty sure the one doesn't have a removable battery /end rant
I guess you could call me a Samsung fan boy

I won't pay retail for it but when my upgrade comes I'll get it.
My gf has one, and she loves it. I couldn't get it, though, because it doesn't have SD card expansion. I love my SD card way too much, so I got the Vivid instead. Couldn't be happier.
My one X is s-off a new method recently came out to do it, and it's nothing like the Vivid was cause I owned that to, never bothered to try s-off due to the stupid method.
HTC is doing a stupid move by removing microSD slots from their newer phones. We aren't babies, I'm tired of HTC treating us only a few years older then Apple does their users.
With all that being said, I'm not wasting hundreds and hundreds on a device that can't even include the basics like access to the battery and a MicroSD slot. This is day one **** HTC. I WON'T be getting a one, actually selling my HTC one X right now to switch brands. Sad sad thing.

Is that a Little Britain reference?
And no, I won't be getting the One. Nothing could ever convince me to buy another HTC product. I'll probably end up with a Galaxy S4.

are sim and bootloader unlocked the only differences? still no removable battery or sd :S

Yea im pretty sure that the only difference, but the only issue i see is the non remove able batter, which for me isnt even an issue, i have insurance on all my phones ( just cause i know something goes wrong and i always get them switched out ..always on my 3rd vivid right now) So if the battery starts ****ing up new phone for me XD yeaaaa hahah
I'll get it the day it comes out:laugh:
90% Yes. Still debating getting the SGS4 or the possible Motorola NXT.
Tapatalk sucks recently...looks like HTC is trying to stop source builds...check out h8s post in the cm10 thread

Hi all,
in 2 weeks I can choose a new phone and I am doubting between the S4 and HTC One. I have played with both phones and currently my preference is the HTC One and that would be my first HTC.
However I often read the update policy/support is not that good, would this a reason for you not to buy the One? Personally I don't want to root phones so I am dependent on these updates. Can HTC afford not to give proper support looking at their current position as company?
Interested in your opinion, thanks.
Support from HTC is Brilliant! Ive never had a problem with them.
Yes Updates are quite slow from HTC by why would that stop you buying a Handset! Plus, the 'One' is HTC's big break, so we might see a different side when it comes to updates.
The rest is all down to you.
There's no problem with the company position, they still made a profit even in a quarter where people were waiting for the next big thing.
HTC updates are a little slower but unlike Samsung, they are good quality, not full of new bugs and problems.
All the Dev's have chosen the HTC One after being let down with Samsung in the past so longevity is unlikely to be a problem.

I've used HTC's telephone support. It is with a normal number and they are very helpful. The phone already has had an update released and one more is expected next month. Sounds good to me.
If you're concerned about timely updates to software, then please try to obtain an unbranded version as these will be updated before carrier branded phones

Just curious Any opinions/thoughts?
Sent from my HTC One
I reckon we'll definitely get the update as devices generally go through either a couple of major updates OR more minor updates + the fact it's a new phone.
The time we'll see most of the hype about it will be when it's actually released though (which will probably be late this year/early next year) and then however long HTC and the carriers want to make us wait for it.
We'll get 4.3 soon enough though so we're a long way off KLP yet
