I did..makes Sprints job to easy!
It's just there to make sure that it matches the box/is the right one. It's not on other phones like that because there's always been a place to hide it eg. behind the battery

Honestly as I tech I'd prefer you not remove it... without it, it makes it alot harder for us to verify that its the correct device. Actually it would be impossible to verify the device aside from them ICCID on the sim. May cause trouble if you have TEP so I'd personally refrain from removing it.
Thank you guys! Much appriciate the responses.

Going into the settings to retrieve it is not hard and far from impossible.
The sticker will eventually fall off and the ink begins to wear anyway.

Was speaking more along the lines of the device won't turn on and there is no way to read from software when I said it could cause problems.

Ah yes, in that case it would prove helpful. With that said, I would still recommend taking the sticker off and keeping it in a safe place as the ink does wear, etc.
That information is also included with the box... unless you purchase your phone used or already open that information thats on the box should match the one from the phone.
I removed mine and stuck it inside the box. I kept my receipt inside as well. Should be safe in there just in case you will ever need it.

My main concern was just if the phone is totally fckd and won't power on, screen burnt out, cant charge, etc, there is no way to confirm that device is the device on your account if you remove the sticker. If we send back the wrong ESN to Sprint, they'll charge anywhere from $180-350 against our tech centers profit so obviously being able to confirm that it is the actual device on the account is an important thing to me. Now based of what everyone is saying about it rubbing off, I think when I get mine I'll personally just remove the sticker and put it on my box so I don't loose it, that way if I ever have to exchange it I can just stick it back on and have 0 worries.

Top or bottom? I just went into the sprint store and picked one up outright. Smallest of gaps across the top, none on the bottom. Doesn't even really flex if you push on it. Still undecided on a swap or not. I guess I'd like to see one without the gap before going that route as the display model was the same.

The same as yours. Just the trendiest gap across the top. You can noticeably push it back in though. I just don't want it to get worse.

Yeah.. I saw some pictures with no gap now, so I'm going to go swap it out. They had like 30-40 of them sitting there. Shouldn't be an issue. It probably won't really get any worse, but the fact that theres some with no gap.. I just can't deal with it. lol
Think unlocking the bootloader would cause an issue with 14 day swap?
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I've never had them check at the sprint store.. Not to say they couldn't. But I don't see a problem with it. Not like unlocking ever caused a hardware issue.

Do I need it? Is it necessary for ID/warranty? Can I remove it? Will it leave glue on the back?
I don't like it. It takes away from the purity
I took mine off the first day. It came off pretty easy with no glue residue. ESN number is in settings and any other numbers you may need are on the box.
via sexy phONE.
No you do not need it for warranty as they can boot up into bootloader and show the barcodes I think it was just there as a means of easy activating
Mine started rubbing off the first day. It's completely gone now but the phone is in a case so I left the sticker on for now.
I removed on both my ONEs as soon as I got them.

First thing I did after taking the phone out of the box was remove the dumb sticker.
Barcode Sticker
The sticker is trash, all the info on it is in the phone and on the box.
On a side note, why would a company put the serial number of a device on a removable sticker? I have had this happen before and then it is not legal to resell because the serial number has been removed. This practice needs to stop. End of rant.

So I just got my phone back from repair for a broken screen. The repair totaled 189.99. I was however quite surprised that they seemed to replace the entire outer body of the phone. The back was scratched and the speaker bezels had a few nicks in them. All was replaced and my phone now actually has the magical zero gap shiz they talk about. I know its still my phone cause the serial is the same and it came back with ViperRom still on it. Just wanted to share my experience.

So I know this has been discussed many times already but i am appalled at Google's customer "service". My nexus 5 has the rattle issue pretty bad and also the sim tray protrudes. I think they've been told not to RMA the phones now for what is widely considered to be 'manufacturing differences'. Could be wrong, though

I had a fantastic customer service experience when I RMA'd my phone. My micro USB chord would not stay in the phone and came out very easily. The service agent was courteous, professional and pleasant.
I think they've had too many people using the "button rattle" to just get a newer phone. Can't say as I blame them.
So you tried to report two non issues as a reasons to get an RMA and you were denied?
Glad to see Google reps doing their job properly.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
What do you mean that the sim tray protrudes? That it doesn't close fully and sticks out more than the power button? Or it sticks out less than that?
I'm glad they aren't RMA'ing for rattles. You will be hard pressed to find a smart phone that doesn't rattle. I think after the Nexus 4 debacle with so many people returning them, they changed their stance to stop a lot of frivolous returns. So many people try to abuse the system (and even a poster in this thread encouraged lying) that it makes it hard for people who might have legitimate problems.
Good.
Put your phone in a case. Both issues solved

Yup. Mine does that, but only when I actually press on it. If you really don't like it, just take the back off and put some thin foam or something under the back.

If need be, you can pop the back cover off with a guitar pick, or similar. Its just like a Samsung once you get inside. Remove the battery, remove the rear housing, remove the motherboard, vibrator, antennae, etc.

Untold? I fired the person for theft of fuel. Some cannot be trusted with a monitored fuel card I guess. Especially when the card is tied to a certain vehicle and they have to use a unique pin at the pump. My 160 out of pocket to repair a phone is chump change when it's a few hundred dollars of fuel

And there it is. Had this happen at my place of employment. Said person was ultimately fired for a 2$ charge. Giving employees G2s to use, nice boss... Lol
Maybe it"s a factor to some, but idc if it's 2 dollars or 2000, cant stand a thief. I can understand the not bothering part as well, if you ever recover the price it will have cost you even more. Some former employee's of mine thought being the boss makes you rich so you wont notice, both are usually idiotic ideas. Why they think i owe them but they owe me nothing is beyond me.
