Do any of you guys have a developers version living in a refarmed area able to do Voice and data at the same time? So far I have seen data drop when I make a call. I am unsure if other versions does the same. I did a search for this but came up empty.
Sometimes I have voice and data. But I really don't pay much attention to it when I'm on the phone.

It always happens for me. 50 test calls all 50 I lose data.
Fixed it. *#*#INFO#*#* and make sure you choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto. Mine was set to CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto from factory which it shouldn't have been. So if you have this problem go there and see if that's what is causing the problem.

I have unlocked my G1 to use with my AT&T SIM card, and sometimes, my friends text me saying that they called me a few times and I didn't answer, but my phone has not rung at all. So I was curious and called my phone with a few of my friends' phones, and it does not ring sometimes. Out of 13 different calls, only 3 of them rang on my phone. I think texting works perfectly fine though. Can someone please help? Thank you!
I can't help you right away but I can guide you to a thread where people are discussing similar problem and trying to find an answer.

if you are using a Tmo G1 on the ATT network, then I believe it will be EDGE only. I could be wrong, but I thought that EDGE didn't allow simultaneous voice and data. Maybe you've got something running in the background and it's blocking the voice calls. Try turning data off, just phone only and see if it works.

I don't think that it works like that. Voice calls should still come through, but data will be blocked when it does. This is because the network doesn't provide enough bandwidth to support both at the same time.
So I followed all the directions on making my tab a phone, seemed to work well. I unlocked it, backed it up first, etc.
It all seemed to work well, with some minor exceptions.
1. I can make phone calls... sometimes. Sometimes I can call and it works great, other times it says it is dialing but there is no dial sound and it never connects.
2. I can send SMS... sometimes. Sometimes it just sends and recieves, other times it times out.
3. My icon for data connectivity says it is Edge and never shows 3g.
When I pull down the status bar it says AT&T, this was a T-Mo Tab that I unlocked and am using my AT&T SIM from my iphone.
Do I need to re-flash the modem? or did I mess some other step?
Thats all ur going to get. You can use rotohammers switcher app in the dev section. It gives u 3G or 2G+voice.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Premium App
I would be ok with 2G+Voice actually... If I am doing much data I am usually on wifi anyways so 2g would be just to get email notifications.
My question is can I get the voice and sms (data) to be reliable? I would like to make a call each time I want to make a call.
I will try the switcher and see if setting it manually to 2g and Voice will make it more reliable.
The switcher also flashes a more reliable 2g modem, I used it for a while, still do when I need to. Rotohammer rules.

I am in Costa Rica for a week and am having in interesting problem with my phone. I purchased a local sim card and it works great, except the data seems to have odd issues. For instance, I can use Google maps just fine most anyplace I have a signal. But if I try to use the xda app, or the web browser, it doesn't work. I would think that data connections are all the same and it should work? I am using wifi at the moment and it works fine so I know it's not the programs. Any quick ideas? I am here for 4 more days.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
My first guess would be to call the provider or ask a local user for the correct APN settings.
I looked up the APN settings online and they are correct. It just seems odd to me that data from Google maps would work just fine over the cell side but nothing else works. I would think it's all or nothing.
sent from XDA app using darky 9.5
Yeah. Usually if your APN is bad, all data is hosed. The provider may be selectively blocking traffic... Eg: if you're on a prepaid dumbphone+data plan, they may grant a narrow range of whitelisted urls or data providers. Not sure.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
What data signal does the local service provider use? The captivate's modem can only pick up signals on the 850 and 1900 bandwidths. That's why, for example 3g won't work on a captivate with a tmobile sim card.
I have a widget that says I have an HSDPA connection at 7.2. I am leaning towards some kind of filter or white list on the cellular providers end. Its not to big of a problem since the place I am staying has wifi. But I would like to know the reason for sure in case I run into it again someplace. The other oddity is if I go into marketplace the items I have purchased don't show up in my apps selection. And in Google maps, I can see where I am, but the ability to share the location is greyed out unless I have wifi. Even though the satalitte image updates to wherever I might be. So the data going through is very selective.
sent from XDA app using darky 9.5
I can also send texts to other local phones here but not mms pictures. Very unusual to be able to send/get some data but not all. I did read on another site that prepaid sim cards in Costa Ricardo don't have data but that wouldn't explain my ability to use Google maps to see where I am.

Do you have modem locked in to to one freq only?
I don't believe so. I don't think I flashed anything new since I flashed the darky rom a while ago. At home it switches from E to H which I believe is a different frequency? And I also at home have a dual sim setup swapping between att and tmo as needed. So I would think it's not locked on a frequency. I am flying home tomorrow, but I do appreciate the ideas. And maybe this thread will help someone else.

A search on Google on the subject of blocked IP addresses shows that Costa Rica ( particularly ICE ) has a known problem with being blocked by many providers. That may also be part of the problem.

HI everyone --- just picked up my phone tonight from tmobile. however, the data drops every time i'm on a call. no 2g, 3g, or 4g indicator after about 10 seconds of initiating a call.
just trying to figure out if i have a bad phone or if others are also noticing this issue.
any feedback is much appreciated. I may switch to At&t and get the optimus g pro if this is "feature" of the HTC one

If you're on EDGE it can only do one at a time not both.

I hear ya....but it's happening from 4g to zero; 3g to zero....the data connection (regardless if it's locked onto 4g or not), just drops after a few seconds of being on the call.....
what does everyone have their data settings set to? under mobile data > network mode.....
mine was originally set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto....
I changed it to GSM/WCDMA AUTO since tmobile doesnt' have LTE where I live to save battery......
but the problem persists with all settings, even when I select teh LTE....
any thoguhts?

Dial *#*#4636#*#* select phone info and see if it's set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE there as well.
I had that problem. Mine was set to CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto from factory. I did the above and set it to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto and it fixed it for me.

yes should be set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto or if you don't have LTE in your are just GSM/WCDMA auto.

got it....THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for their replies....changed it now...but still -105dBm to -93dBm at best......
what's funny is that my work provided tmobile blackberry sitting right next to my HTC one has awesome signal right now.....i don't get it.....although the blackberry is a 3g blackberry at best with no 4g capability.
also, i have noticed that if i switch the ONE to GSM only, the signal jumps to -71dbm.....!!! so apparently the "4g" sucks here in northern cincinnati....
4G have low coverage in all countrys, only usa have widely 4G.
If you got 4G that means you got better internet speed not stronger signal.
Signal depends on internal antena which dosent care if signal is 2g,3g,4g.

Simultaneous Voice and Data HTC One on T-Mobile
After dialing *#4636#*#* my HTC One on T-Mobile is set to WCDMA preferred as we do not have LTE coverage yet.
Voice and Data works superfluously under "4G" HSPA+ 21. I tested both while making incoming and outgoing calls.
I was told to change it to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto when they put LTE live in my area.

Hi there erg208, I've tried all of those settings and still no success. Only for a very short time (data will stay on anywhere from 3 seconds into the call to no more than 10 mins into the call....last night was a record with 30 mins into the call) but the moment I begin to do to much surfing or send one too many emails or Gtalk for too long it's like my phone just gives up and the data disconnects and at no point during my phn call will it ever reconnect. I have to hang up my call and INSTANTLY the data turns on with all 5 bars and an H signal. AND most times I have to restart the phn before I can get simultaneous voice and data again. Do u have this issue? May I please ask if you've done an extensive test with your simultaneous voice and data? Meaning have u actually been on a long enough call and seriously surfed the web, sent & received multiple emails, chatted on Gtalk and sent an MMS all during one call and it stay connected? That would be a real test b/c mine doesn't. And if your data does disconnect do u have to hang up the call for it to come back on?? And does it work again if you make another phone call without having to restart your phone? No matter what, having to do either of those things is unacceptable b/c I have NEVER had to with any of my previous HTC devices on Tmobile's network. And I'm a flight attendant so I'm all over this country receiving 3G, 4G and LTE signals and it does it no matter where I am, if I'm moving in a car or sitting perfectly still in the same area with good coverage. Pls let me know your full experience in testing this. I really appreciate your help! Thanks

That is not true. We have decent LTE coverage here in UAE (inside the cities at least) and great 3G coverage even on highways.
I did have a similar issue that while on 4G data would drop if i receive a call but that's because 4G LTE does not support voice and my call gets "demoted" to GSM which does not support data+voice simultaneously.
Don't know if anyone else has had this issue in this forum, but I have found several others with same issue in other locations. No one has come up with answer and HTC has been no help.
If I lose my signal, due to location or if I drop off of wi/fi and go to cellular data, it seems that the phone loses the ability to make or receive calls or texts. For example, if I leave a strong signal area and drop to edge service or none, and then return to a good signal location, the phone shows full bars and 4G but if you try to make a call it will not connect or if someone calls in they just go to voice mail. I have to reboot the phone and all is good. This seems to happen several times a day, never any issues with iphone 4s or Galaxy S3.
Here is what I have done and then after the fact HTC sent me an email telling me to do same thing.
1. Got new sim card.....HTC is convinced that the sim from my iphone was not good.
2. Exchanged for new phone.
3. Ran phone without syncing to my google account or any downloads.
Still same issue with losing connection. Most of the time I don't realize it until someone says, hey I have been trying to call you. I reboot phone and, wow, several missed calls and bunches of texts.
Let's see what they have to offer after the complaint.
Thanks

Hey, similar problem here
The difference is that I only loose mobile internet when disconnecting from wifi in AOSP roms (and GE), on sense roms it seems fine.
I have however noticed a pattern, it might help some one figure it out, but it might help you too.
I only lose Internet when disconnecting from wifi If 4G Is on, if I force my phone to not use 4G, then I don't loose network.
Also, if I do loose network, a reboot isn't required, you can simply Turn airplane mode on and off, that has always worked for me.
Ps: to force the phone off 4G I do the following :
1: open dialer
2: type : *#*#4636#*#*
3: go in "phone information"
4: under "Set preferred network type" set it to "wcdma preferred"
The reason I prefer this method is that it's always the same no matter the rom.
Pps: my baseband is 4A.17.3250.17, if that matters for any reason.

Same problem here....
Not solved...try everything...but no luck....
I get it too seems like the phones radio doesn't switch frequencies as smooth as other phones.
