[Q] Power Button - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Okay, so my power button isn't broke it is still very sensitive and very much intact. But it seems some what lose on the right side of the button but left is very poppy still. I'm not really freaking out about it although I could see it being a major problem down the road just like my iPhone 4. Anyone else have the same problem?

Like it's angled incorrectly? I've got that

My One was like that but I exchanged it.

yeah its angled weird, do you think getting a replacement is worth it? I mean its probably bound to just keep happening. My screen and body at top of phone is flush either. But I am not really worried about either, should I be?

If it doesn't bother you then keep it. I returned mine and got one with a wiggly volume button. It's rare to get one without any problems.

mine doesnt any problems

Only problems on mine are the noted capacitive buttons and the bezel and the screen don't match up on the top so it's a little bit raised.

I just am worried it will stop responding

N1 Power button, screen awakes by itself?

My power button has gotten pretty far inside my phone since I remember buying it. But now, it is hard to click it sometimes, and the screen re-awakes by itself after I push the button.
Is it worth returning (Rooted). Also, My screen has a pretty wide gap, and dust falls in between the screen and the body. And the back panels are slightly mis-aligned.
Are all these issues worth exchanging for? Even when rooted, they still should honor this, right?

My power button pissed out on me. Send it back, they sent me another. It was rooted of course. They couldn't tell on mine. It would not power up at all.
Its getting worse, not functioning sometimes. Calling tomorrow, going to ask them to send me one overnight, and I'll ship mine when I get the new one.

One side of battery cover doesn't close firmly?

I noticed my Incredible S's back/battery cover isn't firmly attached even after reattaching it to the phone a few times. I can press down a little bit of the left back cover but the right side is okay. Anyone else experiencing this?
I also tried pressing down that side first to secure it when reattaching but it's still the same.
The side I'm talking about is the opposite side of the volume rocker.
Mine fits perfectly, take it back for a replacement
My first IS had this problem
I returned it to have another one, nothing to complaine now with this one
but before making the exchange, check the new one if there is a problem with the battery cover
Well, it's a minor annoyance but I can live with it. It's probably not worth the expense of exchanging it since I bought it internationally online. I just had to make sure I'm not just placing it the wrong way.

Hi,
I THINK I have had a similar issue when trying the first times..
One side, I think the one with the +/- loudness button didn't close perfectly..
I found that it only works when I start fitting the cover at the top first and start pressing on both sides (left and right), slowly moving my fingers downwards and pressing.
I had the same problem next to the SDCard slot, but I swapped it for a new one and its fine

Any DIY fix for this? It's just that my thumb is always on that spot. :l
I've had this as well, it just takes some magic and trickery to get it to fit perfectly. Dont really know how I managed it to fit perfectly again, but I removed it several times and pressed the area I was having trouble with first.
I had this yesterday on the right side. Pushed hard from top/bottom and it wouldn't go in.
I then tried from the side and this worked. Hope this makes sense as its hard to explain.

What do you mean from the side?
There was a slight gap a couple of mm. Looked like the inside teeth type parts weren't quite lining up to allow pressing together. I pushed it side on (the right side edge) and it clicked in.

Hmmm, my problem is on the left side though (when battery cover is facing you), only the middle part of the edge of the battery cover wouldn't close properly. I think this is the part between the two teeth.
Any guide to properly close it back?

Nexus 4 - Defect rate

My initial Nexus 4 has a small hole in the centre of the backlight through which light escapes when viewed from any sort of angle. It's quite distracting, so I've elected to send it back. I've only seen one other user with this defect.
Half the threads on this forum are about problems people are having, and each seems to have a respectable number of vocal sufferers. But people come here because they have these problems, and it's tough to determine how the average customer is making out.
I'm mostly curious because I have no idea what to expect of the replacement I receive. Glue blotches? Who knows.
I wonder what the actual % is. Poll up top for those interested.
I have the speaker problem but i can not hear it. My buddy's N4 has it has well. He said he thinks his is worst on his phone. Because i can not hear it i do not think there is a problem. Over all i have been very happy with the phone. I can't wait for Franco to get his so we can get some better kernels.
These results will always be obscured. People that don't have a reason to complain usually won't make a thread saying" hey got my phone today, works as expected"

I'm the only person I've seen posting with my defect -- the camera LED doesn't work, no flash, no flashlight. I'm obviously getting a replacement, shipped today.
Mine has a yellow tint on the bottom half of the screen. Replacement was shipped out today
My Nexus 4 locks up in deep sleep (while charging usually). In order to restart the phone, I have to hit Power + Vol Down which shows me the charging animation, afterwhich I can hit power to start the phone. I've already wiped the phone and flashed the stock 4.2 image from Google, and uninstalled any applications known to be incompatible. Seems to be a hardware issue so I requested an RMA.
Mine acted odd but, sometimes when I have a notification, I can't wake the device's screen forcing me to do a power cycle.
To the guy above me, to reset the device all you need to hold is the power button...

Had a speck of dust stuck between the screen and the display. It was super annoying at first because there was a glue "halo" around it, which dried up and it ended up looking like a huge dead pixel.
Replacement arrived fine, but I have had a problem with both phones rebooting constantly when pushing them. It's starting to really piss me off.
Anyone else notice the vibration function is off sometimes. At time its feels great like it should, but other times it feels a little too strong, like it's a little loose.
Overall I'm really happy with the phone; everything is perfect.
I have the yellow spots on my screen. They seem to get worse over time. My replacement shipped today though. I'm really hoping it doesn't have any issues.

I've also experienced this. It seems like a software issue though.

I think I have a similar problem. Somewhere in the middle of the screen there's a really small, slightly distorted little spot that's brighter than everywhere else. It bugs me whenever I see it, I was contemplating sending it in.

That's most likely backlight bleed.

The reason I haven't sent it in yet is because I'll probably just be trading one defect for another. It'll come back with the speaker hiss or yellow screen.

Not everyone has issues with their Nexus, these are also most likely going to be from a different batch. I don't they could be ant worse than our current devices.

When you come to a forum about hardware you will have a high rate of people who have faults, that is natural as people come to ask. You can only find out for yourself and luckily the consumer is protected by law for the first 30 days or whatever they have to decide they aren't happy with it.
The build quality does look quite shocking though.
Hope they don't pass all the replacement directly to LG like what they did on Galaxy Nexus after receiving too many replacement call.

I'm hoping they'll have a recall. I love my Nexus 4, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to deal with all these hardware issues.

What do you mean "when pushing them"?
I have a thin vertical blinking line to the of my screen it strechches the entire length of the screen.its noticible on any color background but white seems the worst as the line appears pink.I called Google today they should be sending a replacement this week.its ashamed other then the line the phone seems flawless but a line down the entire screen isn't something I can overlook
I am just now getting screen banding, obviously a defect. kinda frustrating..

Thinking about bringing it back.

My screen is not flush with the top speaker bezel. It is lifted just enough that you can clearly see/feel that it is up. When I push down on the screen I can get it to be flush like the bottom of the screen is with that bezel, but it lifts back up after 10-15 seconds. I know especially with the first batch there were quite a few with gaps and other problems. Is it better to just keep one with such a minor flaw, or should I bring it back and exchange it? I don't know how happy I will be living with this for two years, but I don't want to return it just to get one back in worse shape.

If you do exchange it at the sprint store, have them open the box and you check it out prior to swapping, making sure you dont have the same issue. If it doesnt have that issue, then swap it out, and if it does, chances are that particular phone would have been returned anyways and they can send it back to htc/ where ever they got the phones from
Mines the same way but its not that big of an issue the bottom seems flush but the top is just like a half of a millimeter higher than the speaker bezel, not too big of a deal for me though.

Mine is like that also, but don't feel like returning it because I finally have it set up the way I like it and then I get worried that the next one will be fine with the screen and then something else will be wrong later. I think it has to do with the front speakers not being part of the whole 1 piece of aluminum.
The speakers are added after the screen and why in all the drop tests the speakers pop off when dropped on concrete so I'm going to live with mine. Besides I have insurance, if it bugs me too much later, I will just use that and get a new one.

I ended up swapping mine, and while the One they gave me is better it is not perfectly flush either. I was glad to take it anyway since I had (already) dropped mine and it had a couple scratches on the screen/back. I looked at the few they had on display as well and all of them had the same thing happening. I figured it must just be a problem with the whole first batch.
(edit: words are hard)

Screen coming up in upper right hand corner.

So I got my T-mobile HTC One through their online store about two weeks ago, and right out of the box I noticed something funny... The screen in the upper right hand corner wasn't quite flush with the top metal faceplate. It stuck out a bit, but I didn't really care too much because hey, I had an HTC one and it was amazing..
Since then I've noticed that the screen in the upper right hand corner will slowly work it's way out until it sticks out fairly noticeably, maybe 1/16th of an inch. It can be felt for sure and seen if you look closely. If you push on it, it will slide back in to where it's flush and stay there for a few hours while it works it's way back out again.
Originally this wasn't such a big deal for me, but it seems like it may be getting worse and I'm starting to get nervous.. My question is has this been seen by anyone else? And is it such a problem that I need to go through the issue of sending it back in for a replacement? The T-mobile store said they'd swap it out, big they don't have any in stock so I would have to go through the ordeal of sending it in and waiting for it to get back to me, and then what if there's a huge gap or a worse issue with the one I get back... Ugh.
So does anyone know anything about this?

Both top and bottom of mine are slightly raised compared to the speaker grills. I think nothing of it. Enjoy your bad ass phone.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking.. I want it to be no big deal haha. It's actually really reassuring that I'm not the only one... How long have you had your one, if you don't mind me asking?

For almost 3 Weeks now. My Wife's also has a slightly raised screen edge on both top and bottom.
I think it's fairly normal, and I don't think it's a problem, honestly.
After seeing the official double dip case for this phone, it actually works to our benefit (if using that case) since it would seal out dust better.
Intentional? Maybe.
But most likely the screen raises after the phone heats up from usage due to the internals being crammed in there and the battery (and other heat affected materials) swelling ever so slightly. Normal stuff I'm sure, and not enough reason for me to worry about the slight ridge I feel if I start my swipe too high when I'm pulling down the notification bar.
