so last flash i wanted to try my new aokp on my sgt7,
i flashed it, but it seems that it just flashed boot.img instead of boot_p1.img :/
so it fails to boot and i cant get ito recovery mode.
The thing is that i can get in download mode while i have my p1000 connected to the original samsung charger!
So i tried to get my sgt7 in dl mode on my charger and put it on my pc, now it comes: it does not get recognized -.-'
Hope someone of you could help me!
I can relate to that. My first install also stuck at Samsung logo and no recovery.
But i can go to download mode the usual way, volume down + power button.
Then I use heimdall flash --kernel boot.img
Anyway boot.img is the right one. It wasn't caused by wrong file.
It was something else.
I can't replicate it again no matter how I try.

So I was trying to follow the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127249
But I did NOT have a KF1 Rom. Now I'm stuck in a fugu fish reboot loop. I have tried VOLup and Down + power, I have tried VOL Up+power, I even made a 301k resister jig, all to no avail.
Does anyone have any more suggestions on getting my phone up and running again?
Flash dgs kf1 kernel and your set

The fugu is a kernel swap root method.

Oh yeah use Odin to flash the kernel...or you can just flash a stock rom and star over
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Same problem here
I'm having the same issue. The problem is that there is an infinite loop during loading. Either:
1. the att screen to fugu fish, repeat.
2. the "initiating charging" to reboot.
adb wont recognize it and because plugging it in takes it into a new reboot, the hard button combo wont work.
I've tried all of the possible button combos.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the fugu is gonna do that I believe its just for rooting purposes. Pull battery enter download mode flash the correct kernel for your Tom with Odin. Good to go

Yeah, you're right but I couldn't 3-button into download. I jig fixed and now I'm good and loaded cog5.
The only problem I have now (which I had before) is that I cannot boot into recovery mode. It just boots to the at&t screen and then gets brighter.

Load Cog kernal and you will have recovery back.
As popfan said, you need to flash the cognition 5 beta 2 kernel before you flash the final rom.

please people for the love of all that you hold dear. Stop flashing till you know WTH your doing. It is hard to be willing to help others when hundreds of people make the same mistake because they are not reading and and being LAZY by just following a video. I am hard pressed to feel sorry for bricks that come from lack of effort on the users part. With the coming changes you may want to be sure you understand what your doing before you do it.

Hi,
I have flashed my GalaxyS with the hardcore kernel. (I rebooted in download mode with "adb reboot download" bacause the 3 key combination didn't work for me).
Now the device is rebooting endlessly with the boot screen "GalaxyS".
I can't access download mode now.
How can I fix this issue?

Hm okay - lets think... you didn't get in Download-Mode before... Now you have a bootloop (what FW do you were on? What Speedmod Version did you flash? etc...) - why should you get in Download-Mode now...
Can you go in Recovery?
If so then you can use "adb reboot download" another time

Hi , if you cannot access download mode through adb or the three button combo you will have to make or buy a USB jig to force download mode (search xda or Google or eBay) then next step is install stock firmware .

1.The combination button must follow corect order [Vol up (or down) + Home + Power]
2.Try to remove battery and put it back, then go to Download mode.
That is my experience..good luck, my friend
First thing you do before anything else is making sure you have 3buttoncombination. Which you didnt or else you wouldnt have been in this mess.

Nope, not a brick. You probably have a working button combination, but the recovery simply isn't there. You need to boot into download mode and flash a kernel.

thanks that fixed it. my phone is now awesome.
I would like to know the technical details of download mode on our phone, specifically does download mode load straight from the bootloader? Also, how come commands like 'reboot bootloader' do not work on an S5830i? I have read that this is because our phone does not have an 'accessable bootloader' but I do not understand what this means?
Finally, just to confirm, recovery mode is loaded from the ramdisk, right?
The reason I ask these questions is related to preventing a hard-brick as I'm doing a lot of experimenting at the moment! From what I can gather so far I could enter recovery and download mode even if I formatted /system. But I could perhaps only enter download mode if I wiped boot.img. But I need confirmation please

Download mode is basically used when you lose everything and even when recovery is not opening...we use it to install stock rom.

Ok thanks but in what respect? What I need to know is what part(s) of the phone is used to load it, bootloader, kernel, ramdisk?
For what it's worth, I tried compiling a kernel and flashing it, which kinda.. bricked my phone (it was weird... my phone would load but only the corner of the screen would update, the rest would still show the boot screen "Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-5830i", then everything would hang). I could still enter Download mode and I was able to flash the stock kernel using ODIN.
Hello people, I'm new to this forum as a friend gave me a Galaxy i9003 for repair but I'm unable to get it working. I've tried to reflash but although it seems to do it then it's always stuck on bootloop. I can get into download mode so I think it's something ain't doing right, so I need your help.
These attached pictures show some errors with internal memory when I get into recovery.
Hey there,
Take a look here

In the first post, download the dbadata.rfs.tar file.
Turn the phone off, reboot it into Download mode (vol down + home + power), connect it to Odin.
Put dbsdata.rfs.tar under PDA, don't touch anything else, just let it flash.
Cheers

Odd... I don't see why that happened, being on an I9003 shoudn't make any difference...
Try take out the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. It seems to work for some people (or variations of this method).
Or just keep trying to boot into download mode- it has worked for me once before, download mode suddenly working again after getting that symbol.
Worst comes to worst, it requires a USB jig, but there have been cases (including my own) where download mode has been recovered without needing a jig.
Did the error in Odin happen instantly? (you did everything correctly, judging by your screencap)

Please check i9003 for your phone as SGS 1 and 2 software may not be suited for your device just to be on the safe side
Got it into download mode using this method. Then flashed I9003XXKPE package but it's still bootlooping and recovery says that /data can't be formatted. I've seen this method that could solve this situation, but I would like to try to recover data partition before.
read carefully, choose, download urs n flash it, all there
