[Q] Galaxy S only boots in CWM Recovery - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used CM10.1 for a while on my I9000B and decided to go back to stock gingerbread firmware so I installed a full stock rom with odin.
Now I want to go back to CM10.1 again but this darn thing will not boot properly. No matter what I do the phone takes me to CWM Recovery right after powering it up.
This did not happen before when I first upgraded to CM10.1 a few months ago. What could possibly be going wrong now? Any ideas?

Maybe try older stock.

You can get into Download Mode (press phone off Vol Down + Home + Power button)?
If you can, use odin to return to stock, root, and install your favorite Rom
if you can not try this:
1. Power down phone with no USB cable connected.
2. Once you see "good bye" connect USB cable.
3. Wait till battery indicator is visible, and you can see the current charge in green.
4. Hold vol + and vol-.
5. Press power until screen goes black, then let go of power only.
6. Should see the yellow digger.
or this ....
1) turn off the phone and plug the USB into the computer
2) Hold down both volume UP and DOWN {} + plug USB into phone
The phone will then turn itself on and boot to download mode

Thanks but both download and recovery are working fine. The problem is I cannot install anything besides gingerbread roms anymore otherwise they will boot only in recovery

Are you able to enter in Fastboot mode?
To enter in Fastboot mode you should connect your phone to PC keeping volume UP (don't touck power button or vol down): you should see the led status turning to blue colour and Flashtool should say you're connected in fastboot.
No i am not able to get into fastboot or flashboot mode..... I connect it to the computer, volume down... nad nothing

Volume UP?
I'm fearing that something is fried inside your phone
You would have used Flashtool into Fastboot mode or just recovery to flash the proper kernel.
The only thing I can suggest is that you can open the back cover and try to disconnect your battery for some minutes.
And if it doesn't work, just try with another battery.
Hard brick is the worst thing that could happen, if it's not the battery, it's a big trouble for your money, sorry
I did all the things that you mention.... When i plug the phone without the battery in the charger Red led lights up for a bit and the phone does nothing.. just that.. I will get my phone at a sony service and hope that they will fixx it for me.... otherwise bye bye xperia t
Unfortunatly you hard brick your phone it happens to me with flashfy too dont use this app anymore in my life, if your is under waranty send it to sony.... My phone has unlocked bootloader and they change the mohetboard for free and they that is a problem with charge system fools.....

Wait, if you see the red light, it means that it's not hard bricked, but soft bricked.
Change the battery!

i did what you said ..taped the power button and connect with charger but again no led lights ups
I don't think plugging the phone to charger without battery is a good idea: you could fry something inside the device, because a phone is not planned for that kind of use (like a laptop for example)
If I were you, I would buy a new battery on internet.
It's in any case cheaper than an assistance repair.
Assistance must be the last chance... this is my opinion.

[Q] S3 MINI Bricked After CWM?

Hello, I have a Rooted S3 MINI 4.1.2. I went into CWM Today to clear my cache, after that I tried to make a backup but it failed at /data so then I just went out and Rebooted the system. When my phone turned got to my lock screen, it froze. It was like that for 30 minutes so I just took the battery out and put it back in. Now when I try to turn my phone on nothing happens. Can't get into Download mode either. Anyone got any suggestions? Is my phone bricked or what?
If you can not enter in download mode it's a serius problem... I'll try to find any solutions.

http://www.tuttoandroid.net/forum/m...-brick-no-recovery-mode-no-download-mode.html
Italian tutorial, but it's not hard understand the meaning...
Do you try this to enter in Download Mode ?
Make Sure You Are In Download Mode On Your Phone
If having trouble getting into dl mode try this>> take out the battery and leave it out. Plug the phone into the micro usb cable. Plug the USB end into your comp. Hold volume rockers down(either both or vol "-") and reinsert the battery

Bricked LG Optimus L90 D405

I tried to flash ClockworkMod recovery but replaced aboot file in external SD. After reboot to recovery phone has black screen and won't turn on. I also can't go to Download mode. If I hold Volume + or - and plug USB in at the same time then nothing happens with phone. I only get two folders in Computer: verinfo and something else. How do I get to download mode and/or replace aboot. I just want to save my files and go back to Stock.
Best help I can give you:

I've been away for a while, please help!

Hello all,
I've been away from this board for a long time and I need help because my phone is really screwing up. My phone is unlocked and rooted. I have "PhilZ Touch6" (6.57.9) recovery? And ClockworkMod. My Moto X is a first generation phone.
I need help with the following:
I forgot how to boot the phone into recovery mode. I turn it off and it simply reboots not giving me the option to boot into the recovery mode.
Which stock ROM can I flash? (link or name?)
Thank you.
Alex
Not to be mean but Google is your friend, there is also a search feature on this forum but, to get to the bootloader, while the device is off hold the volume down key and the power key for 2-3 seconds then release. From there you can get to recovery. (But I recommend a more modem recovery) As for roms just search.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
1. Hold Vol- Button and then Power Button for 3 seconds, then let go the Power button.
With Vol- navigate to where it says "recovery" then press Vol+ to access to it.
2. Depending on The model of your phone XT10xx e.g. mine is XT1053 you should download full Firmware so it flashes proper modem and bootloader images too.
There is a thread, google it like this:
stock flashable zips for moto x ghost, xda
There you will also find latest original untouched firmwares.

You're not being mean and I usually tell others the same. I'm just looking for a quick answer because I'm so busy right now (school, work, kids) and my phone is screwing up so badly to the point of my desperation. Thanks for the help just the same.

Perfect, exactly what I need. Thank you!

brick...

ok so .. i was on stock 5.0.2 , official, not rooted, and i tried to flash twrp recovery, it was advanced stock kernel, for 5.0.2, so i dont think i have mistaken.. conected in fastboot, everything worked fine, sent the boot.img, just fine.. when i was about to check it, DEAD.. no led light, no boot, no detection in fastboot or flashmode in flashtool.. no sign of life.. before flashing that, the phone was working great, no battery problems, all good.. and now i dont know what to do.. thanks for answering..
Hold volume up+power button for a while, try to feel whether it vibrates or not. if if vibrates you still have chance.
Test with flashtool, an original tft file. Pressing (volume -) so it worked for me. And yet the green LED did not work.
