If the device doesn't respond to any button command, and the fastboot cable does nothing, then you're doomed. Follow instructions more carefully in the future.
As a last resort, plug it into the wall to see if it had some battery issues.

get then factory cable, plug intom fastboot and follow SR tool instructions carefully, and you can do it. I just bricked twice and unbricked and run as usual after the step-by-step guide to unbrick. this will save yourself all the havoc, good luck!

I perform all the steps of srTool. but the system does not start. system recovery screen and repeats indefinitely. system restore 7.2.2 I need someone that to share your system.img version 7.2.2 with me please !
Please note that the mentioned "factory cable" is NOT the USB cable that comes with the KFHD from Amazon. You need to buy the cable somewhere else.
After that, you could easily unbrick the device.

hello everyboddy !
I have a rooted kindle fire HD 7" with the last update and i have attempted to install:
2nd bootloader
Fireflash
TWRP
CM10
But... when i have try to install twrp with Fireflash a red screen is a appeared after the reboot.
I'm a noob and i'm a little panicked !!! Can you help me to unbrick my kindle, i'm ready to make evrything but i have only in my hand my kindle and the original cable.
Please XDA's community !!!
buy a fastboot cable
this helped me with a red screen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
The reason this happened was because you was on 7.3x of the AmazonOS, you needed to flash the 7.23 bootloader first before installing the second bootloader. Only a factory cable and the restore tool will save you now.
I did the same thing and the fast boot cable saved me. Good investment.

Also I suggest using hashcodes method rather than using fireflash to install TWRP and cm 10.1. It may look complicated but I've used his method on 3 kindles successfully and I'm a bit of a noob Just make sure you open the command window from the folder in which you saved the files - shift +right click mouse >open command window here. Sorry if you already know this. It just took me ages to figure that out lol! The link is here:

Actually, I've used the FireFlash method twice now on my Kindle Fire HD, and it's worked flawlessly both times, and takes less than five minutes to complete. But hey, whatever works.
i was also stuck in a red screen loop!
you really need a factory cable
what i did was turn off the kindle fire hd then plug in the cable, i turned on the device, and boom just use the toolkit which you can find on the development thread
i hope this helps!!! i was so frustrated as to why it wouldnt work
also you must have the kindle fire adb drivers.
ONLY FOR THOSE WITH A BROKEN POWER BUTTON: and if you dont happen to have a functioning power button like me, wait until the tablet dies, after just plug in the tablet to your pc with the factory cable that way when it finally recharges it boots up in fastboot, otherwise your tablet will be in red screen forever
Hi All,
I feel like I sort of screwed myself here. I tried rooting my Kindle but didn't fully understand the process and now have a bricked device. Fortunately I have a factory cable and when I plug it into my computer I'm getting the Fastboot Kindle Fire logo on my screen. Unfortunately I didn't set up any recovery before hand (that I know of) and my computer doesn't seem to be recognizing the device.
I've tried following this guide but don't quite understand what to do in step two (I've downloaded ADK and am thoroughly confused).
What are my next steps here for getting my device un-bricked? Any help or guidance at all would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
He really needs to reword step 2. When it refers to using adb, it means if your kindle is able to boot up normally then run that command to get into fast boot. You already have it in fast boot so just ignore the adb part.

So just move on to step 3? I downloaded KFHD SRT tool but not really sure what to do next. Do I need windows or a specific program to launch the SR Tool.bat?
Thanks for all the help, really not familiar with this device at all.

Hi,
Good that you have a fastboot cable. First, Windows needs to see your device. When you go into Device Manager, what do you see? Do you see something like TATE-PVT-08 as an unknown device? You need to "install" a driver for that device. Double click the unknown device, select find drivers yourself, and scroll down until you find the Kindle Fire category of devices. Once you click-through that, you should find ADB Composite Device or something like that as an option. After that, Windows should recognize your device, and you should be able to use fastboot commands on it. (By the way, this assumes that you've installed the Kindle ADB device drivers at one point in time)
See this thread for more information about the actual RESTORE commands. (Look under the Restore section of the first post)

Unfortunately, I don't have a system.img that I can send you. One option is to download Kindle Fire First Aide - that might have access to an older system.img file on it (v7.2.3) which will help you. Here's a post on how to download Kindle Fire First Aide:

Follow each of the steps carefully! Install the Java SE Development Kit, for example.
Hi, everybody. First of all I want to say that what I did on my KFHD was a rookie mistake which nobody should ever repeat. To begin with, I copied the full Nexus 7 build.prop into my KFHD. When I tried to reboot it, the problem began. The "kindlefire" bootlogo shows up for about 3 seconds and the screen goes fully black. On my desperation, I made the second terrible mistake: I managed to get the KF into recovery mode through System File Manager V 0.4 and made a full restore. Nothing changed. I bought a fastboot cable and I'm trying to restore it through SR Tool but it doesn't work. Is there anything I can do? I would really appreciate your help!

Hi, thanks for your help. I downloaded KF First Aid and followed all the steps. When it finished downloading all the images there is a message displaying " < waiting for device >" and nothing changes. Any suggestion?
OK either you didn't answer no to kffa when it asked if you want it to place the kindle in fastboot, or your drivers for fastboot aren't installed. I'm betting on the drivers. Plug the kindle and open the device manager, you should see a Tate device with a yellow triangle next to it. Download the drivers in my signature and extract them somewhere. Now right click the Tate device and hit update drivers, hit browser, point it to where you extracted mine. Try kffa again.
If on windows 8 you will have to disable driver signature enforcement first.

I am assuming you have a KFHD 2nd Generation (firmware 7.x.x). if thats the case, then follow these...
You will need a fastboot cable (aka factory micro usb cable) unless you have a way to put your kindle in fastboot mode. Get one from fleabay
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254&highlight=device+not+found and download the KFHD_SRTv1.3.5.zip utility
Use option 3 first to push recovery img to your kindle followed by option 1 or 2
After it completes, you will have rooted ver 7.4.3 on the Kindle
The thread also has links for rooted 7.4.9. You can dl those images and replace them in the utility folder (images) to get a rooted v7.4.9
The KFHD 2 is on a different version than 7.x.x.
