Hi all,
Can someone guide me (step by step) how to install jellybean on my device.
Device details:
Model: Spice Mi410
ROM: MacLite-FB0 v1.3 (GB 2.3.4)
Kernel: Apps_2.6.32.9-perf
CWM: Recovery v5.0.2.3
Baseband: PR232
I want to install "cm-10-Ideos-X6-v0.2".
So, I got the ROM and also got the kernel "35.7-oct.4-cmx" & recovery menuu "Recovery Menu 2.0.0.1 for 4XXX baseband (kernel 2.6.35.7)".
Now, can someone guide me the sequence of operations to install JB?
I tried different combination of sequences CWM, Kernel & ROM but couldn't do it
(If I flash CWM first then I don't get recovery menu again so can't flash the ROM.
If I flash ROM first then it doesn't boot. I can go to the recovery menu and flash the CWM but it didn't help.
Also flashing kernel at all different point, didn't help me.)
1. Put the downloaded new rom. (.zip) to your SD card
2. Install Tjstyle RC3 via SUT 1.8 (RC3 comes with CWM preinstalled.)
3. Go to 'backup and restore ' and take a backup
4. Format Data, Cache and Dalvik
5. Install the zip from SD card
6. Reboot system and you are done
7. Reboot once again and login to your google account

hey guys. How to install simplicity ROM? Im currently on stock JVP with Galaxian Kernal. Never done flashing Custom ROM before. Can anyone provide steps to install it?.
First flash semaphore 1.5 via odin.
Copy the Simplicity 0.32 - Wipe CWM3 to ur sd card. not into any folders!!!
Go to recovery mode (HOME+VOL UP+POWER) do a factory reset - IT WILL ERASE ALL THE DATA IN UR PHONE SO PLS DO BACK THEM UP.
After rebooting again go to CWM recovery and install the "rom" .zip file and u are done. Then u can upgrade to 3.3 via the same way.
Its all there in the rom's thread itself. Check it out
" If you are on Gingerbread (2.3). Install a kernel with ClockWordMod (most recent ones do so. Boot into recovery (CWM) and flash the latest wipe version of Simplicity.
If you are on a previous version of Simplicity. Flash the new update zip or the new full no wipe zip in recovery (CWM)."
I have a problem while trying to install thanatos 2x v3.2 EXT4 rom, i was coming from the BlazingDragon v2.0a also EXT4, as far as i know.
I have done the following:
- installed baseband 0725, as stated in the thread
- installed rom manager, and CWM v5.0.2.0
- installed the zip file using CWM
Now the phone stucks with the LG logo....
What am i doing wrong?
Try this.
1. Wipe
2. convert partiotions to EXT4 (flash this in CWM recovery) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137218
3. Flash the ROM
4. Reboot
If it doesnt work
1. Wipe
2. Flash the BackToExt3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021549
3. Flash the ROM (this will convert the partitions to EXT4)
4. Reboot
Thanks for posting so fast.
I have tried your solution 1, just now, and the result is still the same, i am stuck with the LG logo.
I have already tried your other solution before, but that did not help either....
Any thoughts?
Your ROM file may be corrupted, try downloading it again. If that doesnt work you can ask for help in the Thanatos ROM thread maybe the developer of the ROM can help you out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267347

Two recoveries
Now i have tried installing cwm through rom manager and successfully installed it, now if I go into the recovery mode through rom manager it shows the new recovery but if I go into the recovery mode through the combo (volume up button home button and power button) it goes back into the old recovery ie dark core recovery, so that means I have two recoveries in my sgs? Please help, thanks in advance
Because you're on Darky's ROM, you already have CWM. You don't need to install new one through ROMManager.
Only thing you have to do now, is wipe and flash.
With Darkcore there is no need to install the CWM Recovery through the Rom Manager. Anyway ist seems installing CWM with Rommanger does not work with the SGS. (I didn't try because i always got it with a Custom kernel but i read it a few times). Instead you have to flash a Kernel which includes the CWM Recovery
To the installation of the CM7-Rom. I usually flash a Samsung Stockrom before flashing a Custom Rom. It seems to be the "cleaner" way. But if you go after Erakko's Instructions you will get CM7 as well I think it's on you which way you will prefer.
I Cleaner install would help to make the transition easier...
go back to stock, then to cm7....for a much cleaner install....cause switching between custom firmwares leads to a few bugs at times.
Sorry but getting confused on what is a Nandroid back up, is it the back up option on the CWM or on the darkcore recovery?
It's a CWM-backup.
Nandroid restore table:
BACKUP -> ACTIVE = RESULT
Samsung -> CM =
Samsung -> Samsung =
CM -> CM =
CM -> Samsung =
After allot of search work I still didn't find any solution for my problem.
(Goal is to flash my stock phone to Onecosmic's ICS 4.0.3)
PDA: I9000XWJVH
PHONE: I9000XXJVO
CSC: I9000XENJV4
What I did:
1. Root my phone with SuperOneClick.
2. Install Rom Manager.
3. Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and select my model.
4. Reboot into Recovery.
After this the phone reboots and ends up in normal recovery mode and starts installing the package? This is what I see.
-- Installing package...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
Can anybody tell me what am I doing wrong?
what i would've done, is to flash a simple CF-Root trough odin, wich allready contains CWM-recovery.
From there you will have to flash a mtd based rom, like cm7, then Onecosmics build
thats what i did ages ago, and i havent had any big problems afterwards.
Just search for Cf-Root at google and it should guide you to the right page.
its about as far as i can help you, as i never used oneclick-root apps, and had to manually flash CWM.
Thanks for your reply!! I will try that when I get home and post back my results.
*Edit:
It works! I have Onecosmic's ICS 4.0.3 running on my phone.
What I did:
1. Like you suggested rooted the phone again but now with with Odin and CF-Root-XW_NEE_JVH-v3.2-CWM3RFS.zip.
2. Placed the ROM and Kernel on my sd card.
3. Boot in recovery mode and did an wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. (Didn't want to install CM7 so tried it like this first )
4. Selected aply update from sd card and selected ICS_4.0.3.0(RC2.11)_Galaxy-S_Full.
5. It flashed the rom but it didn't go back to CMW recovery and showed the boot animation (colored blocks) way to long.
6. Taken out the batterij and started again in CMW recovery with button combination.
7. This time I did wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.
8. Selected aply update from sd card and selected ICS_4.0.3.0(RC2.11)_Galaxy-S_Full. This time it went back to CMW recovery.
9. Selected aply update from sd card and selected ICS_I9000_20120107_r3180v_update. Went back to CMW recovery again.
10. Selected reboot system now.
After waiting for like 8 minutes I got an working phone with ICS installed!
*Sorry for the "detailed" explanation but I hopefully help other "noobs" with this issue
Seems that I am not done because Onecosmic's ICS Port Android 4.0.3 RC3 is out!
oh year, RC3 is fantastic

I would like to know how I sould proceed to install THIS new kernel.

If you are flashing from another rom.
1. Reboot into recovery using button combos.
2. Flash RC3.1.
3. Reboot into recovery, wipe data / factory reset.
4. Wipe cache.
5. (optional) flash new kernel
6. Reboot.
If you are upgrading from an earlier build.
1. Flash the newest build in CWM.
If you have rebooted and your phone will not go past the kernel screen.
1. Boot into CWM and wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
2. Reflash the appropriate kernel.
3. Reboot.

If u just want to flash a new Kernel, it's not neccessary to reflash the whole ROM. Put the Kernels ZIP into internal SD-Card, go to CWM via boot or 3-Button-Combo, head to the zip-file and install it.
It could be useful, to flash the Kernel-cleaning-script that u will find here:
