Every time I recover to a new kernel I get an unexpected reset or problem reset error. any ideas why?
i'v used cwm and twrp they both do the same thing.
Which kernel, which rom, and a more detailed problem?
stock rom with elementalx kernel 0.11 or stock rom with bulletproof m7-1.10
using twrp-2.5.0.0
even when I recover to the stock rom I get the restarted unexpectly error.
Really strange.
I can't help, all kernel works fine with TrickDroid...

Hi all
I possess one o2x at present there 1035.21_20110218 on mckr12 Roma fr16 beta 4.
I noticed that when I flash a capable kernel oc / uv, my phone stuck on the log's logo...
Anybody has already met this problem?
Thanx
No but if you reflash the rom it will remove the new kernal and put the original one back on and you will keep all your apps etc aswell
I have this problem too, i flash the new Fr17 & Fr18 mcr can't boot. If i just flash the older Fr16 kernel, it booted...............
soo. no way to have a uc/uv kernel on my o2xs ? :'(
If you flash vork then it won't work cause it was meant for CM7
just reflash back the ROM in recovery
Back to Stock Rom.
Try to back to stock rom as said dusitmon123, then Wipe everything, and reinstalling custom rom will work...

Hi!
I've installed the MIUI ROM a few days ago. Everything looked good.
Today went to install the Elemental kernel.
Downloaded zip, went into recovery, installed from there, went through all the options and then reboot. Never booted again.
It just stays with the screen on, all black for more than 10min (as long as I waited).
It does boot into recovery though.
What is wrong and how can I fix this?
Thanks
Flash the stock kernel or reflash the rom
It's a prob of the kernel, you flashed a sense kernel on an cm rom..

you flashed a sense kernel on a CM based rom that's the problem .. said it once ill say it again .... SLOW DOWN AND READ before you screw your phone up
Damn!
I've been told I could do this without a problem.
So what do I do now? Reinstall the ROM?
That would stay with the Elemental kernel and the ROM?
Thanks!
Who ever to you that was flipping yanking your chain... YEA reflash the MIUI rom
Sent from my METAL PHONE not some plastic phone bloated phone
Or you can just extract the boot.img from the rom and flash it separately if you don't want to flash the whole thing again
Yup. That worked!
So you're telling me I wont be able to have the benefits of Elemental while using this ROM?
Unfortunately not at the moment, unless he makes an MIUI compatible kernel
This is the second time happening. The first time I came from the previously supported Viper One Rom version from sprint, and when I flashed 5.8 I lose my recovery and just get stuck into bootloader. The second time I was coming from the recent Dirty Unicorns Rom, and the same thing happened. I'm currently using the latest Philz Recovery, and I did wipe my phone numerous times before flashing. Am I installing the wrong file? or Am I doing something else wrong? Also the only way it seems to come back from flashing the rom is using an RUU to get me back to stock. Flashing another ROM after ViperOne failing puts me in a bootloop.

... try flashing ViperOne with TWRP 2.6.3.0 at least. i think this is going to solve your problem ...
That's really weird.
I've flashed stock to insertcoin to viper 5.7 to viper 5.8 then to bad seeds sense six. I now go back and fourth between viper and sense six no problems at all.
I've only used twrp though, used 2.6 all the way to the newest 2.7.0.4 I believe it is.
What I do when I switch is:
Nandroid*optional*
Flash superwipe for twrp2*so it wipes clean the Rom*
Restore a previous nandroid*viper, stock, etc*
Clear cache and davlik cache.
Reboot.
That's all I do.
I stopped using cwm a while ago with my DINC, my power button was shot*couldn't press it cause it was damaged* at that time twrp had a touch based recovery*2.3.x I believe*, so been using twrp since then.
Dearest fellows of xda-developers,
I'm running into this problem now. My phone keeps constantly bootlooping. I can access both recovery aswell as the download mode. Tried a data/factory wipe and tried the cache wipe. That didn't do anything for me. Then tried to reinstall the complete firmware using Odin. Also not a solution. I've made a video of my problem without any comment though but I hope it helps you to figure out with me what's wrong with it. You'll find it as an attachment to this post. Thank you for your time and hope to get some responses soon.
With Kind regards,
John
You didn't provide enough details: which was the last installed ROM, is it still on stock firmware and if yes which one?
I see on your video that it has custom kernel and CWM recovery, do you know which kernel is that? Video is unsharp, I tought I saw for moment that it is CWM 2.5.1.2 so is it Speedmod kernel? I would try to reflash the kernel- if the issue came after flashing a kernel, then it is just a uncompatible kernel version for the ROM you were using. Or you can restore nandroid backup....don't tell you have none?
If nothing helps, you could try to flash Cyanogenmod 9 zip in recovery. It is anyway better than stock firmware.

Hi, I had a many phones, installed many roms many times without problems. I make everything ok. I`m on 2.2 stock, root, cwm, install ANY 2.3 or IZS or other rom is successfully, full wipe and what? Bootloop after kernel, roms dont loading (roms work on stock kernel, checked it). What is wrong? I bought the phone with izs rom. Any issue? Tried 10 times...
most if the time this is because you have a outdated recovery. install philz touch latest and try again.
I tried 3, one was recommended for that rom and this same, but i said installation looks good. Maybe i`ll try in the evening
