T-Mobile HTC One on South Korea LTE - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, quick question... I have an unlocked/rooted/SIM unlocked T-Mobile HTC One M7 that I got a couple of days ago while in the US... T-Mo uses the 700MHz/AWS LTE bands and my carrier (KT/olleh) uses the 1800MHz bands...
Yesterday I came back to Korea, upgraded my plan (and my SIM) to support LTE...So, theoretically shouldn't I be able to get LTE service in Korea? I was using CM10.1 and was only getting HSDPA/HSDPAP/UMTS not LTE. I flashed ARHD and still no joy.
Do I need to try and flash a specific radio to enable the 1800MHz LTE band? Do I need to wait for S-OFF to get SuperCID and flash a RUU from Asia WWE? I'm sort of at a loss here...

Right, I was asking because I was under the impression that the hardware would support it? If it's unlocked, once S-OFF is achieved and super CID set, what's to stop from flashing a RUU from say, Asia WWE which should open up the 1800MHz band?
I've scoured the forums, so forgive my ignorance, but I thought that the UL variant of the phone the hardware would pretty much support any major cellular band with the right radio software to tune/tweak the hardware. I mean I was looking at the PDF specsheet for the specific radio that my phone contains and it appeared to (on paper) support all major LTE bands, only that specific bands were software-locked to specific carriers/regions?

I am also interested in this. I have the "developer" model coming tomorrow and will be taking it to Korea next week. I'm not expecting LTE to work as is but as you described above, think it would work with a proper flash. Please let me know if you figure anything out!

[Q] M7_UL LTE issues

Hey,
I have an HTC One M7_UL.
About 6 months ago, I rooted and installed Cyanogenmod.
Recently my carrier (Mobistar Belgium) activated LTE for my account - but it does not work.
When I force the radio on LTE, it seems as if there is no coverage - while my friend with a Nexus 5 has perfect LTE coverage.
2G, 3G data work fine (HSPA+, HSDPA, Dual carrier,...)
It's not the APN - I set that manually.
It's not the ROM - I flashed liquid smooth yesterday and have the same issue.
I wonder if my Firmware is incompatible with the CM11 and liquid smooth which both have Android 4.4.4.
Could that be the issue ?
Find the output from my fastboot getvar all

If it is the firmware - where can I find the correct one to use ? and how to flash it without being S-off (I"d rather avoid that if possible).
Is there a ROM that upgrades firmware automatically ?
Sorry for the many questions, I have been searching the forum for weeks, but don't find the answer. If this has been answered before - please forward me.
Maybe it's your sim card. As far as I know, you need sim card that supports LTE

I assumed it was just my profile in the HLR that would have been activated, but the website of the operator indeed states that you need a sim-card that was produced after 2008. Since mine is still from 2000, I'm going to give that a try - I can do that without S-off
Thanks for the tip!

Just to confirm that the problem is solved by requesting a new SIM-Card - turns out that indeed a SIM-card needs to be LTE-compatible.
Thanks again for the tip!

[Q] HTC One M7 UL ATT - no LTE, only 3G and H

I've been trying to research why my device is never getting an LTE or 4G notification status icon since I purchased the unlocked phone from Amazon. All I ever see is the 3G or H (HSPA/HDSPA) symbol. I've never rooted or flashed anything to the device. I bought it in April and was happy with the speed (coming off of Sprint, anything is zippy) so I never did the research on what the H was, assuming it was AT&T's LTE/4G. Now I know it is like 3.5G.
I have been doing a lot of research on people with similar issues. Found one, but he stopped responding to the thread. Others seemed like they were having problems in other countries. I am certain I get LTE in my area, especially since at work someone right next to me is getting LTE (looking at their *#*#INFO#*#* stats). My *#*#INFO#*#* is showing I am set to use "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto". If I set it to LTE only, my phone does not connect.
I found the RUU for my phone and a list of radios here and here, but before I started changing the APN, flashing, or wiping stuff out with the risk of bricking, I wanted to get some expert opinions. Below are my phone details from fastboot. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? Did I just luck out with a broken phone?
Thank you in advance.

Your network operator has enabled LTE for you?
Mine doesn't get LTE because I must pay extra or change my plan.
It could be what cyrusct82 said or your SIM card just doesn't support LTE. Call your operator and ask for about both things mentioned here before you do anything to your phone

I agree, if you didn't get a new SIM from your carrier theirs a chance you need a new SIM and it needs to be provisioned for LTE
Thank you everyone for the quick responses. I will do that and get back you to on the results.
Thank you cyrus, donkeykong, and clsA. You were 100% right. XDA Developers ftw.
The ATT store guy put all 1s for my IMEI so that it defaulted to GSM service... Thanks ATT store rep. I got a really knowledgeable guy on their support line and he fixed it all up. Just saw an LTE symbol for my first time on the HTC One.

htc one m7 stuck in bootloop - Need help very badly

Hi All,
I have tried installed Sky dragon rom for my HTC one m7 which brought my phone to softbricked. Phone got stuck in bootloop now. I did every thing possible and in process I have formatted the phone which took away the boot image as well. When I try to flash any rom, it will intall every thing and when goes back to twrp, it says no OS installed!
I have tried pusing the rom, install the rom from SD card and RUU. All found to be a big failure. Lately I have figured that I have used incorrect RUU file wrt CID. Hence I have changed CID number, and thought of updating hboot to 1.44 from 1.57. However, it said incorrect model id and unable to change the model ID. PFB the things I failed doing.
-> Failed installing rom from SD card, stuck in bootloop.
-> failed installing RUU from computer exe file
-> RUU from Zip - failed
-> unable to change model ID
-> unable to change hboot
-> ADB device does not show devices
Please help.

your phone is a Sprint HTC One M7
modelid should be: PN0720000
cidnum should be: SPCS_001
fix those, then flash a proper Sprint HTC One M7 full RUU
either check the Sprint forum, or @alray's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
Sprint, Verizon, and GSM variants are not interchangeable
.
PS: you sure what kind of phone you have? all the above information is somewhat contradictory

Hey thank you so much for the reply.
I believe this should be a sprint phone but I am not sure. I bought this from eBay.in as a unlocked phone.
Coming to the model ID and cid I have changed it. After unlocking bootloader I got supercid. When I was unable to install and run any rom or ruu I have tried changing cid and install ruu accordingly. But it failed due at model ID and I was unable fix that by any means.
If you are in India would mind calling me? Plz

not really.... changing MID, is "pretty" easy, but you have too many inconsitencies

M7_WLS -> would indicate Sprint HTC One M7
PN072**** -> could/should be PN0720000
CID, (to put it mildly is just wrong), the one you have indicates a US Developer Edition
MEID is all zeros, that should not be on a CDMA phone (such as Sprint) as far as I know... even if it's SIM unlocked.... i could be wrong, but I dont check on Sprint much; you might want to ask there

My cid number was not correct as mentioned above but it was super cid from the time I got the phone. The actual cid was 11111111 which I manually changed to BS_US001
Also getting connected to sprint will also be a concern as I am in India and we don't have sprint services

HTC M7 not working in EU 3G/4G

Hi guys,
I'm posting here since I couldn't find any answers to my problem....
I have a HTC M7 that I can use only in 2G, whereas my carrier has 3G/4G services available. If I do a manual search on the network, I can see my provider, Orange Romania, but it fails to register on it on 3G/4G(LTE).
Could a phone find a network on a certain frequency but not be able to connect to it?
Frequencies for Orange Ro:
2G = 900 Mhz / 1800 Mhz
3G = 2100 Mhz / 900 Mhz
4G = 800 Mhz / 1800 Mhz / 2600 Mhz.
from fastboot getvar all I have this info:

version-bootloader: 1.61.0000

I would guess that the radio is somehow for T-Mobile US, but I couldn't find any FW/radio version with this combination of modelid and CID to confirm this.
The phone is currently rooted and with the bootloader unlocked, but S-ON.
My question would be, how can I make this phone work in Romania on Orange? What should I do? What version of radio should I flash?
Thank you, any help would be much appreciated!

The unknown baseband is a known issue, sometime it's simply caused by an incompatible firmware/software combo and restoring the device back to stock using a RUU should fix it. In some other cases, it's caused by defective hardware. Radio version is now the same for all M7_UL, the latest one is 4T.35.3218.16, used in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. This version will be flashed with the RUU.
LTE will be supported if your carrier uses the same LTE bands supported by the M7_UL
