I've been trying to research why my device is never getting an LTE or 4G notification status icon since I purchased the unlocked phone from Amazon. All I ever see is the 3G or H (HSPA/HDSPA) symbol. I've never rooted or flashed anything to the device. I bought it in April and was happy with the speed (coming off of Sprint, anything is zippy) so I never did the research on what the H was, assuming it was AT&T's LTE/4G. Now I know it is like 3.5G.
I have been doing a lot of research on people with similar issues. Found one, but he stopped responding to the thread. Others seemed like they were having problems in other countries. I am certain I get LTE in my area, especially since at work someone right next to me is getting LTE (looking at their *#*#INFO#*#* stats). My *#*#INFO#*#* is showing I am set to use "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto". If I set it to LTE only, my phone does not connect.
I found the RUU for my phone and a list of radios here and here, but before I started changing the APN, flashing, or wiping stuff out with the risk of bricking, I wanted to get some expert opinions. Below are my phone details from fastboot. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? Did I just luck out with a broken phone?
Thank you in advance.

Your network operator has enabled LTE for you?
Mine doesn't get LTE because I must pay extra or change my plan.
It could be what cyrusct82 said or your SIM card just doesn't support LTE. Call your operator and ask for about both things mentioned here before you do anything to your phone

I agree, if you didn't get a new SIM from your carrier theirs a chance you need a new SIM and it needs to be provisioned for LTE
Thank you everyone for the quick responses. I will do that and get back you to on the results.
Thank you cyrus, donkeykong, and clsA. You were 100% right. XDA Developers ftw.
The ATT store guy put all 1s for my IMEI so that it defaulted to GSM service... Thanks ATT store rep. I got a really knowledgeable guy on their support line and he fixed it all up. Just saw an LTE symbol for my first time on the HTC One.

Hey all, quick question... I have an unlocked/rooted/SIM unlocked T-Mobile HTC One M7 that I got a couple of days ago while in the US... T-Mo uses the 700MHz/AWS LTE bands and my carrier (KT/olleh) uses the 1800MHz bands...
Yesterday I came back to Korea, upgraded my plan (and my SIM) to support LTE...So, theoretically shouldn't I be able to get LTE service in Korea? I was using CM10.1 and was only getting HSDPA/HSDPAP/UMTS not LTE. I flashed ARHD and still no joy.
Do I need to try and flash a specific radio to enable the 1800MHz LTE band? Do I need to wait for S-OFF to get SuperCID and flash a RUU from Asia WWE? I'm sort of at a loss here...

Right, I was asking because I was under the impression that the hardware would support it? If it's unlocked, once S-OFF is achieved and super CID set, what's to stop from flashing a RUU from say, Asia WWE which should open up the 1800MHz band?
I've scoured the forums, so forgive my ignorance, but I thought that the UL variant of the phone the hardware would pretty much support any major cellular band with the right radio software to tune/tweak the hardware. I mean I was looking at the PDF specsheet for the specific radio that my phone contains and it appeared to (on paper) support all major LTE bands, only that specific bands were software-locked to specific carriers/regions?

I am also interested in this. I have the "developer" model coming tomorrow and will be taking it to Korea next week. I'm not expecting LTE to work as is but as you described above, think it would work with a proper flash. Please let me know if you figure anything out!
I've flashed Android Revolution HD 51.0 a while and it worked like a charm in the beginning. But after a while the process com.htc.dialer started crashing, so I looked around on XDA and I saw that there was a new version of ARHD (52.0). I flashed the new rom and after that I noticed that I didn't have any connection to my GSM-network..No Data, no phone.
I thought it was my ROM, so I tried another one. So I tried CM11 Nightly, no luck either...
The phone does ask voor SIM pincode, but then doesn't do anything.
Searching for mobile networks results in a blank list of providers,
Can someone help me with this? Is my SIM-card broken?

you may just need to enter your APN
use google to find the correct APN for your carrier
then on the phone go to Settings / Mobile Data / Access point names / hit the 3 dots and choose new APN
I'm afraid this didn't work. Entered the correct APN-settings, but this didn't help.
Rebooted the phone, gave my pincode and then I searched for mobile networks, this caused the phone to reboot en also gave the message: Error while searching mobile networks. After the reboot the phone didn't ask for a pincode, like he doesn't recognize the SIM.
I also typed *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer, this gave me the following information:
Neighbouring CID: Unknown
Cellinfo:

GPRS service: disconnected
Network type: uknown

Does Settings -> About -> Software information -> More shows Baseband unknown
and Settings -> About -> Phone identity shows no IMEI, SV, and IMSI
?
In that case it's off to repair, motherboard replacement
(you're the third one this month with that problem)
since you're s-off, you could try flashing a complete RUU, and do a factory reset within stock recovery, if that doesn't reinitialize the modem, you'll need to send it to repair.
Sorry

Well, I did a full stock flash...I still have the unknown baseband, imei etc...That's just great
But thanks for clearing that up, although it wasn't the news I was hoping for
My phone already has been to a local repair service after cycling through unexpected heavy rain, the phone went into a boot loop (as if the powerswitch was stuck, couldn't reach bootloader in a normal way) They succesfully fixed the phone and it worked for a while until now..
Does this have something to do with my current problem?
I guess my warranty is gone after going to the local repair service?
Hey,
I have an HTC One M7_UL.
About 6 months ago, I rooted and installed Cyanogenmod.
Recently my carrier (Mobistar Belgium) activated LTE for my account - but it does not work.
When I force the radio on LTE, it seems as if there is no coverage - while my friend with a Nexus 5 has perfect LTE coverage.
2G, 3G data work fine (HSPA+, HSDPA, Dual carrier,...)
It's not the APN - I set that manually.
It's not the ROM - I flashed liquid smooth yesterday and have the same issue.
I wonder if my Firmware is incompatible with the CM11 and liquid smooth which both have Android 4.4.4.
Could that be the issue ?

If it is the firmware - where can I find the correct one to use ? and how to flash it without being S-off (I"d rather avoid that if possible).
Is there a ROM that upgrades firmware automatically ?
Sorry for the many questions, I have been searching the forum for weeks, but don't find the answer. If this has been answered before - please forward me.
Maybe it's your sim card. As far as I know, you need sim card that supports LTE

I assumed it was just my profile in the HLR that would have been activated, but the website of the operator indeed states that you need a sim-card that was produced after 2008. Since mine is still from 2000, I'm going to give that a try - I can do that without S-off
Thanks for the tip!

Just to confirm that the problem is solved by requesting a new SIM-Card - turns out that indeed a SIM-card needs to be LTE-compatible.
Thanks again for the tip!

I tried to root my HTC One a while back when I got it on contract on Three mobile but failed to so it successfully. In doing so I managed to get the Super SU but it did not work properly. My phone then was labelled ***Tampered*** ***Unlocked***.
A few months after that I tried to get it back to the way it was before, ie when I first got it. I had a problem finding the custom RUU or something? I really don't know how Android phones work and should not have tried rooting it in the first place. I then somehow got it to say ***Tampered*** ***Relocked***.
I gave up trying to do anything as this whole process is very confusing to fix and perhaps easier guides would come along one day. I am now writing this thread as my phone cannot connect to the Three network , as in, there is a sim card but can't get a phone signal or 3G/4G signal. I can't make any calls or connect to the internet unless using wifi. I have tried getting a replacement sim but it does not make the phone work (the sim is not faulty as I have tried using it on another phone). I have tried hard resetting my phone but it does not work presumably because it is still rooted and always loads the bootloader (I think that's what it's called?) whenever I try to reset, or update software for that matter. I have tried all the options in Settings -> Mobile Network Settings multiple times as well as all the options in *#*#4636#*#*
So my question is this:
How can I get my phone signal back? OR How can I unroot my HTC One S-On on the Three UK network in words a moron like me can understand?
OR both haha.
Thank you so much in advance for reading this and trying to help me, I'm really desperate to get my phone working properly again.

I found a fix by the way, now my phone is factory locked and the signal is back up and running. Super SU has been removed and the software has also updated to the newest version as up to 12th July 2015.

Well anyway your best bet would be to go to your provider's store and get them to contact HTC to arrange a repair. That's the only way, as you can see nobody helped me.
So damn tired of this bull. Waited for this phone from China for 3 weeks (trusted seller). Now for the past week that Ive had it, its been nothing more than a damn annoyance because I would constantly switch out the sim to my old phone because nobody can reach me do to my signal either not working right off the bad or it works with literally full bars and H+ data then DROPS completely and I have no service. My APN is set to Simple's, but I have also tried Tmobile with same results. Tried all kinds of different preferred networks with no success.
Things I have noticed:
Right now I am at home and when I search for network operators, some times it cant even find Simple or when it does and I try to register it says that selected network is unavailable.
Yesterday at one point I had FULL BARS with H+, then after traveling for about 15 minutes on a car, it dropped and once again I had to switch out my SIM to my older HTC One m7.
Speaking of my older M7, it is a M7 GPE edition and it never had such issues, I even downloaded the same old radio GPE phone had on this new M7 GSM and its still not working.
I have tried different roms and different firmware with no success and Im about f**king done with this phone. I waited 3 weeks for it to get here and at this point Im about to just send it back and get my money and never order from China again.

You should send it back, phones from China are absolute crap. One of my friend bought a m7 from a trusted China seller, condition was supposed to be new. After 2 weeks of use the front mic went south. He ordered a new mic and when replacing it we found a lot of evidences that it was a (badly) refurbished phone. Once the mic was repaired the battery died a month later (was good from 100% to 80 then it was shutting down. Average screen on time: 15 minutes... ). We broke a flat cable connector when replacing the battery and the phone went directly to a garbage can. 200$ for 6 weeks...
