When I use wireless tether, and my phone sleeps, it will run fine. Then after 10 minutes or so, the connection will get buggy and stop running, then when I try to get my phone up again, the touch screen is unresponsive. I've worked around this by holding the power button, which brings up the power down menu even on the lock screen, and I select reboot, because for some reason my touch screen works when the menu pops up. Then I hit cancel, then the touch screen works again. However, now it continues to stay unresponsive even after I hold the power button and the menu comes up.
So, anyone have this problem before? Why would my tethering be cutting out at random times? And why won't my touch screen work when I'm running tether, after waking it from sleep?
EDIT -
I seem to have solved it by turning off my over clocking profiles. I assumed it might have been the change in processor speeds that could be junking things up. I also turned of Access Control, and things seem faster. Will keep this updated if problems arise again.
Edit 2 -
Still having both problems.
I have observed this to a lesser extent as well. Try turning off the screen for a few seconds. Typically when I have some sort of flakey screen behavior turning the screen off seems to resolve it. I think at least some of the touch screen issues are related to the panel getting a little too hot, and I think the tethering applications can certainly get the phone running warm. HTH.
I can let it sit there for a few minutes, and the screen will remain unresponsive.
Hero Goes into sleep mode and does not wake up!!!
Has anyone had this issue, it has happened to all 3 Hero's that Sprint has replaced, out of no where it goes into sleep mode, does not matter what button I hit it does not wake back up, I have to actually take the battery out and replace it and then turn the phone back on to get it back. Is there something that is causing this issue if anyone else has had this happen, is there a solution to wake it up without having to take the battery out, it does not happen often, but at least once or twice a week.
I wonder if it could be an app causing this issue, it did it again today, the screen is asleep and when I try to wake it up, I do everything and nothing works, sometimes if I leave it alone for 10 to 15 minutes then it finally wakes up on it's own, or if I don't want to wait then I have to take the battery out to reboot it, that is the only way to get it back, and I am not doing another factory reset. I am not rooted and do not intend to root at the moment
This is driving me crazy please help!!!!!

Well dude, its kind of hard when you don't give us any info (and your font is hard to read...)
What ROM?
What apps do you have installed?
What are you doing right before you turn it off?
I am on stock 2.1 with the .6 update, apps installed are, Delete old messages, Launcher Pro which I am using as default now, Handcent, Juice defender, Quick settings, COL reminder, Dolphin HD, You Mail, Fancy Widget, Sense analog clock not using this right now, home switcher, Uninstaller, Google maps, Viz battery, Google voice, Barcode scanner, Opera mini, Astro file, PDA net which have not used yet, Free caddie, Color notepad, How far am I
I do not turn it off, out of no where it goes into sleep mode and I cannot wake it up, no mater what keys I press, if I take the battery out and replace then I can reboot it back, or if I leave the phone alone for about 15 to 20 minutes then all of a sudden it will wake back up. Anything else needed let me know!!

Could be
Launcher Pro
Juice Defender
COL Reminder
Viz Battery
all those sound like they might run when the screen is turned off.
Have you tried doing a reformat and starting over?
Yes I have, have reset many times, like mention a few other of my friends also have the same issue, this is also my 3rd phone from Sprint and they have all done this one time or another, as for LP, Viz battery, and juice defender I recently installed and did it before that, and COL I have not used in a while

I use launcher pro and juice defender with no problems, so you might want to start with the other apps.

You haven't hard reset it if you're still having the problem.
I have hard reset it 3 times now and everything works fine for about a day or two and then all of a sudden out of no where it goes into dark sleep mode as I call it, now remember it does not happen everyday, could happen once or twice a week and then not happen for 2 weeks straight after that there is no pattern to it. These are the 2 methods I have used list below.
Menu Path Method:
1. From the Home screen, press the Menu Button and select Settings.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Factory data reset.
4. Select Reset phone.
5. Select Erase everything.
6. The device will dump all of the data and reload.
Key Stroke Method
1. Power the device OFF.
2. Press and hold the HOME and Back Arrow buttons. While holding these buttons, press the End Call button once.
Release the Home and Back Arrow buttons and press the Trackball to execute the Hard Reset.
3. The device will reboot once the process is complete.

OK back to the drawing board, it is not the Blue Tooth as I had BT turned off for 2 days now and it just went to sleep again. I will try another program to deactivate until I find the damn culprit
OK my next step is I have turned auto polling off for the YouMail app,and have also set the downloads to the SD card instead of internal memory, I will still know there is a message as it sends me a text anyways, fingers crossed, any other suggestions are welcomed!!!!!
Hey,
I have a Bell SGS, totally stock. It's suddenly become incredibly slow.
I haven't installed any new apps recently, or changed any settings.
When I press an icon, any icon here is what happens:
- I put my finger on the icon and let go, nothing happens for 2 seconds.
- The icon goes 'dark' like it is being depressed, stays that way for about 3 seconds
- The icon finally gets 'clicked' and I get the 'ding' sound
- The screen goes black with only status bar for about 5 seconds
- finally the app will show up, but if I press anything, it is unresponsive
- the app will become responsive after about 5 more seconds
- If I click a text box (like in stock messaging app), it freezes for another 4-5 seconds, the keyboard doesn't come up
- Finally the keyboard will come up.
ALSO:
- The phone app takes ages to launch.
- Anytime there is a screen to scroll, the scrolling is unresponsive for the first few seconds, its painful
- pressing the home button takes ages to bring me to home screen
- Often the phone just locks up and I can't turn the screen on, have to do a battery pull (once a day or so), I can't figure out what is causing it.
There are no apps running while this is happening, I looked at all running processes and everything seems normal, nothing hogging CPU.
Reboots don't fix it, it comes back just as slow
All the haptic feedback is way late, sometimes the little buzzes get queued up, so it wont do anything, then all of a sudden it will buzz 10 times in a row as it catches up with the button presses
Samsung email (which I use because I like how it handles multiple accounts) is the slowest program in the phone. When it loads up, I click on one of my accounts, it takes literally 30 seconds to load the messages. Then I still can't scroll for another 10 seconds, its agonizing. Switch to the other account? Another 30 seconds. Both accounts are set to keep emails from the last 14 days (not that much).
So, what the hell is going on? I took it to the Bell store, and even with the stupid warranty, they said "well, its still working, so theres nothing we can do"
So, I'm using the 64 GB ballistic nylon droid turbo. About half an hour ago, all of my open programs crashed, as well as some process running on the phone. I tried opening several again, and they wouldn't open, so I rebooted my phone.
All of my information was gone, including my personalized settings and my contacts and conversations. The home button no longer works; it vibrates when I press it, but nothing happens. I no longer receive notifications. The icon in the top right of the drop-down notifcation menu no longer responds. Except on startup, the phone no longer asks for my security input, even after i changed the settings.
I have no idea how to fix this, and apparently customer service is not open on weekends. Some help ould be appreciated.
Sorry to hear this.... It sounds like you lost a lot on the phone already. Are you able to get to the settings and just to a factory reset??
same problem

I just had the same thing happen...did the factory reset work?
Have you tried this? https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/102367/p/30,6720,9277
I originally posted this on I don't get to post links, so I can't link you to the reddit post. You can search my username on reddit if you're super-curious.
Since that posting, I let my phone sit, off, for the entire night. Turned it back on, and continue to experience similar issues.
In summary, the issue is as follows: After booting up the phone, I have roughly 2-4 minutes of "uptime" before Apps start freezing, failing to respond. This includes the SysUI app. If I jam the "home" or "tab" button on the bottom of the phone enough times, I am sometimes given an "x app is failing to respond, kill it?: Wait; OK"
If I choose to wait, it doesn't get better. If I choose to kill any of the apps, not just SysUI, the screen goes black, but the phone is still on. Sometimes I can power cycle it with the "Power Off" screen button, sometimes I have to do a hard reboot.
I tried installing Phone Doctor as one reddit user had recommended. It froze before I could see much, but I did notice the CPU was running at 97% which seems abnormally high.
Have you factory reset?
My kids HTC corrupts some system app data randomly every few months and I have to either painfully start cleaning the multiple offending apps cache or just factory reset.
No idea if this is a sign of failing as card or if it is just some app citing multiple apps data.
