Hello guys let me start of by saying I work hard for my money and when I pay for something i expect it to work as advertised.
So I was downloading a huge file from my drive account and was at 75 % and all of a sudden the network goes out on me and the download fails... It was a 350 mb file and being on the 30$ plan any data use is considered used even if the data was not used as intended. So I call T-Mobile and ask them what was wrong with the network as I tried downloading this twice and both times it failed. I asked if there was an outage in my area and they said no so I explained my problem to them and they said " due to the circumstances of your problem I can't give you the data back but here's 15$ credit for the data and an extra 5 for the inconvenience" I was like okay thanks and so I was compensated 20$ for my problem.. so one day i loaded ten more dollars to complete the 30 for my next cycle and i called to ask about a rate plan.. The lady ask hey i see youre out ofbdata and ninutes would you like to renew your plan early and I said no well point is she renewed my plan after I said no and when I didn't notice a change in my data speeds I called back to let them know something was wrong cause I hadn't been throttled and found out my plan was renewed. So they once again gave me credit. 15 $ ... So... I guess if you have any inconvenience with your service and call and complain about dropped called or dropped connections they compensate you. I'm not saying this is right to do but if you have ever been in my situation where you download something and it fails call in... Again I'm sure we all work hard to pay our dues. They're making millions and promoting a fast 4g network not dropped calls or data loss.
I sent in my phone for service, my old phone, not even to T-Mobile but to Samsung and I called T-Mobile and they gave me 10$ for being without service for a week, they seem to have good customer service. Same thing when I broke my phone and got the nexus 4.

You might consider changing the title to something more along the lines of "Frequent data drops? Tmo credits you back" just to avoid people trying to abuse this (I realize this was not your position, it sounds completely legit in your case). Tmo is the only company right now I recommend NOT ripping off. If it was ATT I'd say do it 12 times a day, they've screwed every customer they've ever had. Tmo is being totally awesome as a phone company right now, let's not take advantage of the only company on our side
Useful thread, thanks for the info, just offering input

That's pretty much how I feel, but with HTC. Rip them off 12 times a day, and do no harm to good old Google. Lol, but I haven't had any issues with att yet other than locked into a 2 year contract then my phone catching on fire and them and HTC refusing to repair it, (for a reasonable amount) so here I am with the nexus 4 and I haven't looked back.

Yep. Left att after getting throttled after having unlimited data for years. Then went to sprint. Besides slow 4G, bad customer service, I finally left because I couldn't stand not having a gsm phone. Now with TMo for a few months, and love it. Customer service is great, people in the offices are good. Great phones, great company trying to do something for people and go the European way with cell providers.
Ya. Please don't screw them over.

In my opinion T-Mobile is the best so far. I have been with them for 5 years and never had any issues. Well one time had called to try and better my plan and the lady forgot to add back on my unlimited texting and had a bill for $1000. Didn't know the wife and i text that much, but one call without any issue fixed the problem.
Depending on the area but where I live I feel has the fastest mobile 3g speeds. I have a crappy sprint Motorola for work and the 3g is complete garbage. I don't even attempt to use it.

I have been with T-Mobile for 12 years (aka Voice Stream). I have had enough company phones on AT&T to avoid that train wreck!

Had a play around with Wallet today, the app was installed but frozen on my nexus. Unfroze it with TitaniumBackup, uninstalled and then installed Paul's modified Wallet from Modaco ( http://www.modaco.com/topic/354635-region-device-root-patched-google-wallet-apk-11-r67-v12/). Works an absolute charm.
Cashiers had never seen it done and looked at me like a mad man... then again, I'm currently in Devon so I'm not surprised.

I have been waiting for NFC payments to become more popular for quite a while as I hate carrying cash on me.
Hopefully when the next Nexus phone gets released I will have enough spare cash to talk my self in to buying it.
Nice one!

Back to the topic - which cards can you use with Google wallet?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
At the moment you get $10 free from Google as a prepaid card, you can add a Citri MasterCard, but they are US only. The only way to top up the prepaid card is with a US card, or by making a virtual card with a US billing address, topping that up then topping up the Wallet.
The $10 works out around £6.44

Yep I noticed the Wallet app in the drawer, activated the google prepaid card and got the $10. So in total, google has given me $35 after purchasing this device.
I want to see people's reactions to me paying for **** with a tablet lol.

I tried to use my NFC Google wallet on my Nexus 7 yesterday at my local Dallas, Texas Starbucks. Being a newbie to this process, I didn't realize I needed to have an internet connection first so I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working there at the register. As a line of customers was growing I finally gave up on it and whipped out my debit card. Funny, how fast and easy that was compared to whipping out the tablet, turning it on and making sure you have an internet connection. My experience was not pleasant and has pretty much turned me off of the whole Google wallet thing. Just so impractical and in my opinion, pointless. My debit card process works much faster without any of the other variables needed for NFC.

BTW, how do you know if a retailer supports NFC payments?

As mentioned, setup your Google prepaid card prior to first use. I've used the hell out of NFC payments this week (roughly two dozen transactions) just because I can; of them, I have yet to experience a single issue.
The average process consists of:
Hit power button to turn on display (do not bother opening Wallet app as proximity does this for you), tap device to reader, enter pin on Nexus to authorize sync, press Yes on merchant terminal to confirm amount and you're done.
I for one am hoping this takes off, especially on the web. I would much prefer using Google for not only lesser-reputable sites but also Steam, Amazon, etc.
Yes you must set it up at home first. Then use it. Pleanty of instructions on the interwebs

No, it does NOT require an active data connection at point of sale. The app stores and transmits your account information which is then authorized by the merchants payment processor just as any other transaction.

i am going to assume that i dropped it sometime in the morning and when i checked at night it was like this( dont ask me how it happened, i had no idea until like 10 minutes ago)
1) i assume normal warranty from ASUS will not cover this, correct?
2) i assume i will have to send it in to ASUS for repairs, right?
3) can anybody get me a legit email or number i can contact ASUS? (USA)
4) damn, life sucks.
it's funny because technically my screen is still 100% perfect, no physical scratch at all. i keep telling myself i might be able to fix it myself somehow if i open up the case, but until a professional comes in and tells me otherwise....
i sent out a couple emails to whom it might concern, otherwise my other options are -> try to get a hold of asus so i can start the repair process or......... buy a new one, maybe an 8GB?
on a side note, what is currently the cheapest place i can buy a nexus 7 these days? [USA]

it sucks because Asus won't quote you an repair price until they actually have their hands on it. which means I have to waste shipping fees and my own time when I might have an option to get a brand new 8gb sonewhere. I read that Asus charges anywhere from 100-180.... yikes
Probably won't help at this point, but you can get 3rd party warranties that include accidental damage coverage. I got one from Squaretrade for $35 for 2 years. Hoping to never use it, but just cracked my phone screen last week and considering sending it in (phones have a $50 deductable so I'm not sure it's worth it... until it gets dropped in the toilet...).

On a serious note could it be the great I've noticed it can get pretty toasty under heavy use. Could the heat make the adhesive weak?
Happened to me also ... Pulled all the letters out with a needle.
Happened to me today with the X.....super disappointed, I've had it barely 3 days...
I want to glue it back on...anyone has any advice in terms of which type of glue would work best?
Happened to me also. The X on the back started to peel off one of the lines and I pushed it back in. Then later that day I realized that same line was gone and lost somewhere.
I contacted T-Mobile over the phone since I ordered it over the phone and they are shipping me a brand new one overnight. I should receive it tomorrow.
They stated it has not been an issue brought up to them yet so if any of you guys bought it at T-Mobile, go ahead and state there is an issue with it. I just received my case today so it shouldnt be a problem anymore. Sucks that this is definitely an issue though :/

A VERY thin layer of superglue, applied to the phone (not the letters) should do the trick. Make sure you put a very very thin layer, else the superglue will come on top of the letters when squeezed.

I know that to some folks this issue might seem petty but I'd be pretty damn pissed if this happened to my nexus. This is a 700$ phone and I wouldn't accept anything but a perfect phone. I really wish Google/Motorola had got their **** together for this launch, waiting 6 weeks for a replacement is some bull****.

Motorola does offer the warranty, so you can certainly contact them, and they should be able/willing to fix/replace it. Note that they (unlike T-mo) may not replace with a new device - they may instead send you a refurb).
T-Mo may be saying 6 weeks just to discourage you from returning it - you could try to ask them to replace it when available (since the problem happened within the remorse period). YMMV though
I found this problem with mine today.
chatted with moto. they told me that they would replace the phone for me. with the advanced exchange policy, they will send a new phone to me (3-5 business days) before i send mine back to them. She assured me that i would not have to wait on any inventory back order time.
i bought my phone through moto.
I know that this is a samsung galaxy s6 forum, but I want to tell you about my experience with T Mobile's technical support department and jump warranty. So I called in on Sunday letting them know that I had the purple spot issue with my front facing camera and ask for replacement they start the process for us to do the replacement and I was told that it was going to take about 6 to 10 business days for me to receive a replacement phone because they didn't have the white Samsung Galaxy S6 32 gb model in stock, well to my surprise my phone was shipped on Monday and I received it yesterday and today.
I went to pick it up to find out the gentleman who I asked to replace my phone or did the warranty replacement actually upgraded my phone to a 64 gigabyte model for free since I had to wait so long for a replacement.
Now I didn't know he upgraded my phone to a larger model until I actually received my new phone and called back and he left notes stating why he did it, this is probably the best customer service that I have received, the guy that I talked to you was amazing and now I have a upgraded version that I had didn't have to pay for and actually had a pretty good conversation with the gentleman as well again I'm sorry if this is not supposed to be in this thread or forum but I just wanted to say how excited and happy I was with the experience that I had with T Mobile's customer service.

It's really hit or miss. I find that online chat support is pretty horrible, they follow a script and can't think outside the box. Phone support is light years better, they have always helped out. I don't buy warranties so if you every need help and are outside the return period they don't really give a crap. It's easy to get help when you pay $10 per month, otherwise they don't really care all that much. You get what you pay for.

For what it's worth, my brother used to work at a tech support call center (not for T-Mobile), and they DO have scripts, and they're not ALLOWED to "think outside the box." He frequently got frustrated, because he knew that he could troubleshoot his callers' issues and actually help them (since he had a pretty solid base of knowledge about software and computers in general), but he wasn't allowed to go beyond the script.
That doesn't make it any less frustrating when dealing with that kind of tech "support", but knowing that has at least made me better at realizing that the person on the phone isn't the problem, and that I just need to keep insisting to speak to a supervisor to eventually get to someone who actually has authority to DO something besides read cookie-cutter questions and answers from a script.
I had an issue with each S6 I received.. each warranty replacement.
So Tmobile allowed my account to have a jump upgrade without having to pay off half the phone. so now i can upgrade to another device whenever I want waiting on the G4 or possibly sony z4 or nexus

If you're leaving the S6 the z4 is the only option in my opinion. Sure it's going to have a throttled sd810 in it but it's still a good processor. The g4 and nexus are overhyped with little to offer. I have to say after I got use to the rear buttons on the g3 I loved them, much better than on the sides.

I came from a G2 to the s6. I loved the rear buttons and the tap to wake/sleep feature.
The nexus im unsure of cause of camera quality.
I like the sony line cause their design/size and specs. Still hesitant on the g4 cause I'm now spoiled on the build quality of the s6 and the SD808 plus its a larger phone

Just wondering what you were talking about when you said pay off half the phone? I've jumped three times and came no where near paying off half the phone. I jumped each time on the 6 month mark exactly. Are you saying I can jump anytime I want as long as half is paid off?

There's jump 1.0 and jump 2.0.
Jump 2.0 you have to pay off half the phone (usually a year) to upgrade.
Jump 1.0 you can upgrade every 6months

The way it works with jump 1.0 is you can upgrade twice per year, starting on the date you originally added jump. So if you added jump in July, you can jump twice any time between July and June, every year. The 6 month wait period only pertained to the first jump upgrade on the account. But obviously if you jump twice in the first half of your cycle, you'll need to wait until your cycle restarts.

Nice lol so i lucked out getting on JUMP early lol Note 2, LG G2, HTC One M8, Note 4, S6
Does anybody know if being on Jump 1.0 or Jump 2.0 is dependent on the date you made the original phone purchase ( when you first signed for JUMP).?
How can you tell what version you have. I'm pretty sure I have 2.0. I had to sign up for jump to keep my m8 and get the s6 when it was released. I was under the impression that I have to pay off at least half of the s6 to trade it in for another.
And, yes, I agree Tmobile is awesome.
Edit
I know wich one I have. [emoji1]

^^^i don't get that option. I get the following message " Your JUMP upgrades have been maximized till 11/18/15".
So I must be on JUMP 1.0
You are on 1.0 if yours does not show up like his, mybwas also 2.0 but when I first got T-Mobile my credit was bad so they made me put half down on the phone, so every time I jump I'm already elegible to jump again beacause they won't rerun my credit. But im not complaining because i just got the s6 and I'm already eligible to jump to what ever I want

Yeah but if you (you as in you your self not the generalized term) jump before the phone is paid off your just giving tmobile money and a phone they didn't earn. Jumping for the rest of us still doesn't add up completely, but it is a nice option if you want to escape your phone at the one year mark. Really the closest jumping comes to making financial sense is if you are half paid off (no more no less) at the one year mark and jump immediately.
I don't mind "leasing" my phone if all I pay down is the tax on it. Financial sense went out of the window for me after T-Mobile introduced all these enticing upgrades a couple of years back

I agree, I was more than happy to trade my g3 for this phone. I even gave them $50 to get the eip to half so I could jump immediately. What I did didn't financial sense but it was only 50 and I was sick of that phone. I think I'll pay this phone off as long as its battery holds up and Samsung doesn't release a graphene phone in the next two years.
I don't know, I keep trying to like them but they keep doing things to make me mad. Today they told me I can't report bad service because my phones are rooted. It's a Nexus 6 and my SGS6. Both are on stock software just rooted. It's rediculous that they can't even check the tower remotely to verify it is working. Basically one tower refuses to allow the phones to jump up from edge speed. Once you drop down you have to go to airplane mode to get back up.

I don't think that is a "problem" just a odd quark with the hand off. It has happened to me on verizon, att, sprint and t-mobile.

Could be. It's worked before, and while driving bouncing from 2G to 3G allows me to still listen to Spotify. If it's stuck on 2G Spotify does not work. It's disappointing because it's about a 10 minute section of the road.
With all those troubles, possible crazy crowd of in-store swapping, burned jeep and not allowing to use its Phone in the flights, should it reward its most loyal customers if they decide to stay with Samsung? Or give the customers a reason to be loyal?
Right now, the price tag they put is pathetic 25 bucks, for all those sure problems. Leaving the questions and uncertainties to us:
1. Should I trust them and believe it really fixed the problem in about one week (while not knowing it in a one year development cycle)?
2. Could it pose a new risk in its rush to fix the old problem?
3. Did it fix that stuck pen problem also, which I thought be the major complaint about this phone before the explosion?
4. When will likely the FAA lift the Samsung phone restriction? Am I going to have problem to travel with Samsung phone (not just Note 7, as they all look similar) in the coming months?
5. With all those trouble, minus 25 bucks, Note 7 still the most expensive phone in the market. And its price could go down a lot in the coming months, with all those recalls phones(refurbished?), and the damage to the reputation, possibly making its most loyal customers very frustrated with their top bids even there is no more issues afterwards.
I am a loyal Android and Samsung Note user, or was. However, with the most current FAA news, I am seriously considering Iphone 7 Plus now (which is also cheaper), when I still have an option.
Thoughts?
Samsung should not have to bribe you to be "loyal"...honestly, I don't believe in "loyalty" to a brand. What I am loyal to is the spen....another manufacturer makes a pen as good as samsung rest assure I will drop samsung.
It is up to you to stick it out, return your device and wait for the price to drop as you have said...and buy it, or you can just drop it all together and go to another device. Their 25 bucks is their reward...you take it or you leave it.
P.S I didn't realize "stuck pen" was the major complaint about the phone lol...mine been working fine all around. How is the pen being stuck? I saw a post somewhere that someone pushed the pen in too deep and it got stuck...all they did was wiggle it out and all was good....is that what you are talking about?

bye bye, and enjoy your iphone
^^^^ I don't think he liked your comment very much lol
I'm lucky that work will comp my phone. I will wait a couple of more months. My Note 4 is still going strong. I replaced the battery 6 months ago and it's like new. I reviewed ifixit for the Teardown of the Note 7 Doesn't look so bad to get to the battery. Sealing it back up shouldn't be too bad. I don't plan on getting my phone wet. I have to deal with iDevices at work and at home from time to time. I can't have an iPhone as a daily driver. It doesn't work out for me. I need calendar widgets, I need customization, I need an adblocker...
1. Billions of Li-ion batteries were made, they're all the same. Factory that messed up no longer supplies batteries for Note7, if I stop trusting Samsung, may as well stop trusting all Li-ion batteries makers.
2. as far as I understand it, there is nothing to fix, just properly follow manufacturing process and catch errors. The following and catching somehow didn't work at one plant, that is no longer involved.
3. what stuck pen? If clicking mechanism fails, just like in a pen, there is free replacement. never happened on mine.
4. Getting our government involved is a nightmare that may never end, they have no clue. Just FYI Boeing 787 have whole bunch of Li-ion batteries on board, that burst into serious fires in past, if I remember at least one cargo plane catch fire and crashed while carrying Li-ion batteries few years back. I thought total ban on use of any electronics during take off and landing was still in place? I have no idea how this will end, but there were other phones catching fire before, including iphone? Maybe not to the same degree, but nothing was recalled and taken off market either.
5. I could swear I've seen 64GB 6s for $850 as well, but maybe I'm wrong, didn't pay much attention.
I'll go with other poster, give me something similar to N7 with spen, I would have no problem switching and that LG phone with stylus, was LG afraid of even pretending it was trying to compete with Note series? Was it trying to create new market, like "poor man Note phone", I don't know, but can somebody tell LG used old Note 2 and Note 3 are still available for better price.
