I heard these Google edition roms are just stripped down sense Roms basically desensed versions I remember using these on my sensation just wanted to confirm since I thought a lot of cm bugs would be fixed with this ROM but I'm guessing that won't be the case if these are not true aosp Roms
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
In a sense your right...but the Google edition is stock android..that's it...sense is a skin on top of that..so when you take sense off or don't even have a skin to start with you have stock android...nothing from HTC in there I don't think...straight stock ...no bugs or maybe very minor ones will be in there...but with Google providing kernel source most if not all bugs are gone fixed by them

Hi,
I am a new owner of a Nexus One, and I would like to install a new rom in it. Which one do you recomend?
Thnaks.
As enomther is gone (havn't read all the posts lately on his thread) I'm on cyanogen 7 RC4 currently (since 2 days) and I'm really pleased for now. Nothing that bad happened and I got most of the features I liked from enomthers rom. I'm not sure if it's right but it seems to me that cyanogen is currently the way to go (at least for me).
Maybe this thread isn't located right here, has nothing development related, general would be much better I think.
try this one http://www.evervolv.com/
great rom, fast, stable, works great for a day use without wonk
you can flash with it darktremor beta 4 and a new kernel from inetersecraven
Reading is your friend. And as far as time go try them till you find one you like. Simple.
Also wrong section. Should be in general. This has nothing to do with development.
If you want sense than use MODACOS Desire_port... of you want gingerbread use cyanogen rc 4! Very stable and fast!

Use MM HTC Desire HD v1.7 ROM, it is by far the smoothest ROM and the best UI using HTC Sense. The ROM can be further modded and tweaked to maximize your Nexus One.

The thread of MM is VERY confusing! Which is the neweset version, the 1.7 final or the 2.14? Is it based on desire or desireHD? Is it possible to get the stock look of htc sense? Is that ROM smoother than MoDaCos original desire port?
Stock ?
No-one prepared to stick up for stock Gingerbread ?
I am, was on custom ROMs all of last year but now dropped onto stock 2.3.3 & enjoying the speed, stability and features. You can always add themes and apps to change it around.
I am struggling with the Radio - it takes a long time to pick up the GPS signal, need to look for a Radio fix somewhere.

For Desire HD port, the v1.7 is Final and you can flash just that.
For the earlier Desire port (non-HD), the v2.16 is the final version.
Flashing either one will give you the stock look of HTC Sense by default (except for the 3G and battery icons) when you first boot into the ROM. The theme and skin is basically changeable, so you have choices of stock look or another theme/skin.
Yes, I have tried MoDaCos and ALL the other ROMs and have compared them for almost 1 week non-stop. The smoothness of Desire ported ROM cannot be beat. It may not be the fastest ROM, but it's very smooth and stable (and you get the beautiful HTC feel). One main thing I like about HTC Sense UI is that it's got many useful phone functions when you use it as a phone on a daily basis. Let's face it, the best smartphone should also act like the best phone. I am currently on MM Desire HD v1.7, and if you want the stock 3G & battery icons back, there is a guy that posted a modified framework-res.apk that can be flashed to get the stock icons back. Everything works in the ROM except for HTC Locations which I just cannot get to work. Built-in WiFi Hotspot does not work, but there is Wireless Tethering included in v1.7 which will provide you the same function. Also, make sure you flash 5.12 radio for the best signal performance.
Good luck!
So... you made me curious
So the Desire Port (2.16) is smoother than MoDaCos ROM and the desire HD port (1.7) is even smoother than the desire port (2.16)?
Do one have to create an ext-partition o sd-card?
The only thing that bothers me is that HTC Locations does not work

Hi,
The 5.12 radio isn't exclusive for Korean models?
Thanks.
Those who are using android revolution hd rom, is there any bugs in this rom? Because I am finding a bug-free/little bugs rom
Anyone?
There hasn't been any opdates to ARHD Rom the last month, but i still think its the best Sense 2.1/3.0 Rom for the IncS out there, and its pretty much bug free.
Ok thanks
i would agree that it's one of the best one out there. although development has slowed down, i think developers are focusing on the newer models and Mike (the developer) doesn't actually have an INC S.
Hello everyone,
After getting my Atrix 2 water damaged, I ordered HTC Vivid... Since it has bootloader unlocked I suppose there should be some ROMs without Sense skin.
Do you guys know if there is any fully functioning nonsense ROM ? Preferably ICS...
Yes. Pirate ghost's Rum Float Beta Rom has a no sense option:
http://blog.androidninjas.com/
Unfortunately the one you mentioned is not functional. So at this moment HTC Vivid can not have stock ICS experience....
PG is currently working on Rumfloat Beta4 btw if you are patient enough.

Non functional? Then please explain to me why my phone is running perfectly...
Andre, I think you are confusing "stock" with AOSP. ALL HTC "stock" ROMs will have Sense user interface.

I believe PGs nonsense Rom is nothing close to what you are looking. Basically just stock sense with the trebuchet ics launcher from cm9. You'll have to wait for anything more AOSP than that

Off topic: I was really looking for a nonsense rom but I changed my mind after the ics upgrade, the new sense is soo smooth now, I'm impressed. (Part of it may be the memory management and probably the multicore support in ics).

Just to clear up the confusion here -
Nonsense/sense stripped/ect: a Rom that has had sense "removed" from it. There will still be traces of sense left behind but that's the price to pay instead of building one from scratch while still having a functioning ROM.
AOSP: a built from scratch ROM. So vanillay its more vanilla then Vanilla.

Okay, I've been looking for something like this as well - to clarify, does PirateGhost's RumFloat Beta4 work on OTA updated ICS Vivid's; and if so, is it a 'AOSP' or a 'NonSense' offering?

It's a Nonsense offering, although I don't think Pg's build will work with Telstra Vivids.

He is on rootzwiki if you want to read more about it.
This is from his post:
rebuilt from RUU 3.26.502.56
removed non-sense option, too buggy
He does not have a nonsense offering except for beta 3. It runs on ics too.
I bought this 32 GB HTC One T-Mobile phone which is unlocked, and will be here in a few days. It IS an M7, right? It has rooted stock firmware (not sure if Sense or AOSP) but will probably flash a custom ROM. I read up on the Google Edition bootloader/recovery, and read Vomer's guide as well. I'm not sure if I need to do the whole GE process before I flash a GE ROM, or which GE/AOSP ROM I should go with. It seems like most of them are Sense, so which ones are AOSP?
The one original android development forum is the asop Roms .
There are GE versions that will work with your current setup. The only reason to "convert to the GE version is for official ota updates.

The what? Oh, you mean the ORIGINAL One forums has AOSP ROMs? How do you tell the difference between the original One and the 2013 model?
How often are there OTA updates? Those are usually compiled into current custom ROMs, right?
In the case of the HTC One, would Sense be better over AOSP (not just because of the camera)? It would seem there are more Sense-based ROMs than AOKP/AOSP ones. I also see a few Sense/GE ROMs. What exactly does that mean? Is it just Sense with the additional AOSP settings and options? If I wanted the best camera, should I just stick with Sense?

There is a android dev and there is an original dev. Read up on the stickies and you'll get an explanation, after you read ask questions with direction so users won't have to type up 2-3 paragraphs explaining everything out .

Stock Sense 5 is very good. You can try AOSP ROMs and see if you don't miss the Sense features. The camera app has been ported to AOSP if I remember well so you don't loose Zoe/Highlights.
I'm stock and haven't planned on going o AOSP or other custom ROMs because I'm more than happy with Sense 5, except some things here and there, but the same can be said about any other ROM. the one thing I change was the launcher. It's good, but not as flexible as Nova, specially for adding more columns/rows to home screens.
Hi.
I love change rom with my phone.
Now with my htcone.
I change more roms with this smartphone.
I really like slim,Pac-Man and elegancia or eragon.
It is possible to make a rom like Pac-Man with app htcsense based like tv-camera-note...etc.
If I paste these apk in system/app they'll work?
Thank you
They require the Sense framework, meaning they won't work on a non-Sense rom. I'm not sure, but there might be a de-Sensed rom (Sense with a holo-like theme). There was one on the Sensation, so...

Thanks a lot.
I think this.
We can resolve to have an Htcone sense with its application or an htcone google edition.
The problem is that the app htc sense is really optimezed.
