3 days ago i flashed my sgs with Ultibread v1.3
Today i decided to flash back 2.2.1 firmware, but all of my 3 computers (10 usb ports) couldn't recognize my phone.
Try to search any solve of this problem, but no one tutorial has not helped.
What did i do?
uninstall all of samsung usb drivers
clean register of all garbage with "samsung"
reboot my computer 3 times
download latest samsung usb drivers v1.3.2000.0 (25.jan.2011)
get out battery for 15 minutes
try plug in other usb port
take computer, wich never connected my phone, install latest drivers (see previous step) and connect sgs to him...
In all cases, the result is one: Unknown USB Device.
System can load and "debug mode" switched on.
Please, help me...
My PC forgets my SGS on a regular basis. When I plug the USB into my phone it is usually a good 50/50 if it recognizes it.
I have found the best way to deal with it is to reboot the phone while it is still connected by USB to the PC. When the phone comes back up with the USB connected, the PC always discovers it right away.
Also avoid connected through a USB hub if possible, that always gives me trouble.
Omg! Solved.
Ultibread v1.3 and, maybe, 1.4 got issue with check in debug usb mode.
And without this check - windows can't recognize phone.
Solution:
turn on debug usb mode in settings, then put out battery when phone is ON.
Then you can get in download mode.

Hey there,...
i got a bad problem with my OB. When i plug in the usb cable the droid does not offer to mount the microsd for the pc. under "phone info -> status" the batterie status also says that it is discharging - thats not true batterie is charging.
i cant connect with adb to my phone but usb debugging is enable. on the original rom i was able to active "AP USB" in the AP CP USB Switching menu in the hidden menu (3845#*970#). After that i were able to mount microsd for pc again and connect with adb etc.
i already reflashed phone with:
v10a
v10c
Nova 5
Nova 7
Nova 8
Problem still not solved. When the USB Cable is plugged in and i reboot my phone it instantly goes to the "S/W Upgrade" Mode WITHOUT holding the volume key. Looks like a flag. this is freaky... could someone explain me what AP/CP USB Switching really does?
Sry for bad english - im a german fool x:
thanks for any help!

Defective cable?
Hey,
thanks for reply.
Already did the following things:
- Tested Cable with other phone = no problem
- Changed cable = issue still alive
- Changed PC = issue still alive
Must be something wrong with my phone. I dont think that it is a physical defect because when i switch the ap thing everything works fine?

Damn... Wrong thread...
excuse
Hm,
i think there is no real solution.
Last question:
is it possible to port the lg hidden menu into nova? i really love nova rom and with the hidden menu i could use the AP USB workaround to mount the microsd for my pc.
maybe there is no need for the hidden menu if i could do the same via the terminal...
some ideas? alternatives?
ty for help
PS.: OMG... Hidden Menu is already implemented...
Do you solve this isuue...?
did anybody solve this?
I flashed a lot around today and found this issue with Zeus Rom 6.2*, Marvel 9, Supressed Rom and with rooted v20o (root achieved with smart flash tool).
When I do an emergency recovery and play around with this settings battery starts to load again and after some time micro sd USB drive is also offered. I think that the problem comes from the patched v20o...
Imo this is hardware problem. If you didnt mess around with the hodden menu prior to the problem you phone is failing. So take it to service center.
Btw i remember at least 2 people having their p970 in service center because of failed socket.
Faulty hardware was my first thought. Since I am still on warranty I did an emergency reco to get back to factory defaults to send the device back. After doing this and running on stock V20o without root everything is working as desired - battery recognizes the charger, and when connected via USB I am offered USB mass storage
As soon as I put another ROM in place battery loading and USB storage are a pitty and I have to tweak each time for this to function...
Today I also tested with Zeus V20n branch. Same thing here.
Same story with ac and usb?
Hi,
I was using F1 V6 ROM on JVK for some time (flashed it with no problems using Odin and Clockwork). After some time, it started to crash more often. I triend V7 but it was even worse so I got back to V6. The only problem was often restarts and sometimes slow operation.
Yesterday I decided to switch to Cyanogen to give it a try. I did it without flashing from scratch. I just used Cyanogen 7.1 installation through Clockwork. It seemed OK untill I tried to connect my phone to PC via USB. I couldn't get any response from PC (not even a sound indicating that something was connected to USB) or Phone (no mount USB screen).
So I was able to charge my phone through USB but not to connect it to PC (tried 2 PCs, different cables, different ports). It doesn't seem like driver problem (no sign of connecting phone to PC, nothing).
I thought that it might be some problem with Cyanogen ROM. So I tried to go back to F1 V6 (wipe) through Clockwork. After doing it, I got boot loop but still showing the logo of Cyanogen (not SGSII from F1). Having no USB connection and being unable to start the phone, I tried to do recovery (I had a backup of F1 V6 from the moment before installing Cyanogen. That didn't go well either. The process stopped and left me with Samsung Galaxy S logo (no boot loop - just hanging there). I cant get into recovery mode anymore. I can only get to download mode.
So the status right now is:
Download mode - OK
USB - can't get phone to connect with PC (no signs of connection so probably not a driver problem but maybe? I tried reinstalling kies, drivers, running Odin, no sign of connected phone, USBDeview shows no Samsung or Kies or Android drivers in my system right now).
Hanging on the Samsung Galaxy S screen.
Did anyone had similar situation?
What do you advice? Any idea on a atest checking if USB hardware is fine?
Was it possible to break USB hardware or driver in phone by installing Cyanogen 7.1 on F1 V6 SGS2?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Cyanogen uses a different file system, so to get it back to a Sammy ROM you need to flash it with Odin. and cyanogen doesn't use the Sammy driver for connecting to the PC. download nexus s drivers from the Android SDK and install it.

OK, so how do I install these drivers when my PC can't see that I have my phone connected to USB port? There is no driver error. After connection nothing happens.
Is there a way to install these drivers on Windows 7 without actually having sgs listed on device list?
any help with that?

Get your phone into download mode (volume down + home + power) and see if windows lists it then.

Reflash the CM7 Rom, and see if it shows up in device manager. Do you get an option on CM to share disc drives with usb plugged to the computer?
Oh, and if you have KIES installed, try remove it and remove the driver pack too (i know it affects ODIN's ability to see the phone).
Solved
Thanks for help.
I got different cable (third) and different (third) PC and somehow it worked - PC noticed connection of SGS in download mode and than it was easy.
I installed clean JVT, than CF-Root and CM 7.1 + google apps.
It seems to work fine for now.
Please close this thread.

Hi all,
I rooted my phone and unclocked bootloader.
My rom is a stock rom.
I managed to install CWM recovery using lg-optimus-4xhd-recovery-v1.0.apk but something happened.
I rebooted my phone in recovery mode and it is always locked to LG logo.
Pressing Volume up and power I can see normal android system recovery, wiping cache and factory reset don't work.
I haven't usb debugging enable so my computer can't see the phone connected with usb cable, and it's impossible for me flashing the phone with kdz rom methods.
What can I do?
Thx in advance for your answers
No one can help me?
Flashing with kdz results in "phone was not found", is there a way to resolve? I've tried with ubuntu, OS (adb) only see my phone if usb debugging is enabled and it isn't, and with a laptop running win8, installing LG drivers and so on, nothing works.
This is salvagable
If you can get the stock recovery mode, all is not lost, all of the important bits are still functioning.
Power down. Hold VolDn and insert the USB cable. If you get the Software Update screen with a green icon you CAN recover the phone. It may require a battle with Windows to get it to play nice, Windows and USB is always a hit or miss affair; but the phone is ok if that screen appears. Do not use the VolUP + Power LG Recovery mode, there isn't a known tool for that in the wild.
I don't normally run Windows and the couple of times I have booted it to do this it required some hassle and usually skipping the nice way since I had never installed the bundled LG Desktop stuff before things went wrong. So just do what I did, pick the Emergency mode that requires inputting the IMEI instead of letting it detect your phone and then let it fix things for you.

Many thanks for your answer, I resolved the problem late at night, yes, after a hard battle with windows.
I installed windows 7 32 bit, I tried a lot of Lg drivers, 3.8.1 maybe the best, after inserting the USB cable with SW Update screen some LG peripherals were recognized but the result in KDZ_FW_UPD was always "phone was not found", then I tried connecting USB cable with the Phone in Android recovery mode ( power & Vol up), and OS added a couple more peripherals, and attempting again with SW Upgrade mode worked.
Hello guys,
Recently I bricked my Oneplus 2 by trying to flash a custom Kernel. That would all be no problem, however my PC doesn't recognize my phone. Tried multiple USB ports (multiple PCs) and got the official oneplus drivers installed, still no connection (tested on Windows and Linux) . That got me believing that my USB port was broken (charging still working), so I replaced the USB module however still not working. (Could it be the cable?)
The current state is that I can boot into recovery (TWRP) and fastboot, however trying to boot normally just shows me the android logo forever.
So well my questions are:
1. What could possible be broken at my phone, that the USB connection is not working. (It worked before)
2. Is there any way to push a rom towards my phone without using a USB connection? So without adb?
Thanks a lot in advance!
EDIT: It was the cable ... I think the data pin broke somehow ... and me stupid as a was replaced the USB module 2 times ... Well transferring CarbonOS right now and will flash real so so thread closed!
