Here are all available RUU`s, OTA`s and CWM/TWRP firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874. Hope you find something there. You have a AT&T device? Here is a TWRP flashable backup http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1829-m7-twrp-nandroid-backup-cid-cws-001-12950210/.

Thanks. The last time i tried, it failed. I was told the error was due to model id mismatch. Should I be editing my phone's Model ID and CID or should I just edit the android.txt file?

also, with the TWRP flashable backup, you're saying I could flash that then do OTA updates? would i have to re-lock bootloader? will I have to go s-on?

After the flash you would have to flash the stock recovery for that RUU and do a factory reset afterwards to get OTA`s. Your phone will stil be flagged as a test device if you have S-Off and/or a unlocked bootloader (maybe there is a fix for that so look on XDA/Google for that).
I don't necessarily need OTA, just want the latest firmware

What do you need to know?
To install the latest firmware, do I need stock RUU or can I just change CID to supercid?
Which firmware can I install with supercid?
What's the process for installing?

1. Read this thread for unlocking the bootloader and getting S-Off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582.
2. Read this thread for writing supercid (11111111) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536
3. Choose a RUU from here and download it (do not extract it) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874 and flash the file by opening it as administrator and your phone usb connected in fastboot mode.
This is great. I'm s-off already. I don't need to change mid do I?

No, you don`t have to change the model ID.
great success. s-off, changed CID to 11111111, flashed firmware with this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42586614&postcount=25330
switched CID back. all is well.

There is a documented procedure at HTCDEV.com to unlock the bootloader if the HBOOT version is 1.16 or above.
Mmmh, you can install an official RUU from there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922.

Yes download a RUU and run it. You just need to follow the instructions on the screen. It tells you when to power on and connect the phone.
If you put it in FASTBOOT USB mode, then type the command
fastboot getvar all
And then post the results, we will be able to tell you which RUU you should use.

Yes the 3.11.405.2 is a good choice to use, but your CID is OPTUS001, so you need a goldcard to flash a RUU from a different region.
More specifics can be found by searching this site and forum and reading about RUUs and goldcards. There is no better way to learn IMO.

What was the status of your phone prior to installing the ICS OTA? Did you have Revolutionary S-OFF? What ROM were you running?

OTA update is a difference (delta) between previous and next the official software of your phone.
You don't receive big 4.2.2 OTA because your CID/MID and an image of your software isn't suitable for updating.
Return your phone software to stock in compliance to yours MID/CID and you will receive 4.2.2. OTA.
I have returned my phone back to stock using the steps in the forum
I have downloaded the stock rom
I have stock recovery and relocked bootloader

well i followed these steps
Method 1 - only for users with .401 devices (for more info click here - RUU variants)
Visit this thread - [ROM] HTC One *STOCK* ROM
Download stock odexed version of most recent firmware and recovery.img
Move recovery.img to c:\mini-sdk location
Boot your device in recovery mode (power off the device and turn it on using power + vol down buttons and select "RECOVERY")
In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard" and "choose zip from sdcard".
Navigate to the location of stock ROM (zip) package and confirm flashing procedure.
After flashing process is complete, reboot the device in bootloader mode.
Connect your device to the PC
Boot your device in fastboot mode (like you did during unlocking bootloader - power off the device and turn it on using power + vol down buttons and select "FASTBOOT")
Open up command prompt ( Start > Run > type cmd and hit enter ). The window that appears is called Command Prompt. <click here to see the image>
Navigate to where you unzipped "mini-sdk" package (type in Command Prompt: cd c:\mini-sdk). Note: make sure the path is not c:\mini-sdk\mini-sdk
In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You have now stock boot, system and recovery partitions. Time to relock your bootloader.
In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot oem lock

And then you have two way.
1) To look for suitable RUU, someone can another will help, I don't see it.
2) VERY DANGEROUS! To change your MID from PN0711000 to PN0710000 and to flash this RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe

ADD
Third way
To forget about OTA and just to flash 2.24.401.1

so does this rom have lockscreen widgets ?!
hi all,
i have a problem with my htc one... i can't get into the recovery.
i've tried flashing the twrp recovery with fastboot but when i select boot into recovery my phone stucks at the htc logo saying "booting into recovery"
before that i read some forums saying that i must flash twrp 2.5.0.0 m7 so the problem may be risolved. I've tried to do that and the phone magically rebooted into the recovery. But after a few seconds came out the "swipe to unlock" and the phone freezed there.
Finally, after researching an entire night, i could figure out how to solve that problem but now i've returned at the starting point...
how can i resolve this problem ?
thanks

try wiping the bootloader cache
"fastboot erase cache"
no inverted commas
cleaning the cache didn't change the problem...
only the twrp 2.5.0.0 works but it freezes after a few seconds...

Well as a last resort and seeing that your main version is missing, I would reinstall the Red . exe
From your radio version you probably have the international version.
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
You will have to unlock your bootloader again but you then should be able to flash a recovery.
Use twrp 2.6.3.3.
Remember to backup your photos,, etc to your computer first.

Yes. It will update your bootloader to 1.56, so maybe harder to S-Off. So if your going down that route. You may want to do that before you install the ruu

Hey guys,
Sorry if I am in the wrong place for this question but I am completely stuck. I recently bought a HTC One M7 which was rooted. I did not know this when I was buying it. The new update came out and my phone asked me to update. I hit yes. My phone switched off and didn't come back on. After extensive research I got it back on to find the following:
1) It was rooted
2)Bootloader started up and TWRP is on the phone
3) There is now nothing on the phone. No firmware or packages at all
4) When I try to flash anything I get the error message: can't mount to system. I can mount to everything else ok just not internal storage.
I am unsure what recovery image and RUU to use. The phone (I was told was unlocked) was O2(Giffgaff).

it seems to be both. I try to flash RUU via fastboot and I get a signature fail. So I try to flash a ROM to the phone and it says failed to mount system. I put the items on a usb and tried it but get an 'unable to unzip' error. Its a bit above me to be honest. Thank you so much for helping.

When you say run the RUU to you mean the RUU from the desktop or directly from the phone? How do I know if I have the correct RUU? the closest one I could find was for O2 and the radio was the same down to the last digit being different. Sorry for sounding stupid but it is a lot to take in for such a noob. I read that I need to flash a boot recovery image and then run the RUU is that right?

This is wrong. You can flash the ruu that mathches the cid and mid of your phone even with a locked bl.

Post a fastboot getvar all
RUU.exe files or ROM Update Utility files are executable files that run on Windows PC
RUU.zip files are simply the same as above but rather than using a Windows exe file to run them, they are packaged in a zip file that can be flashed in Fastboot mode
The RUU has to match your CID/MID. If your S-On, the RUU as to be same version or higher

OMG My phone literally did the same exact thing today!! I woke up, a few things were force closing so I decided that I would just reboot the phone...... Big mistake, once I did that, the phone just stayed in the booting up animation. So I figured hey what ever ill just reflash the ROM in TWRP.......Nope, couldn't boot into recovery either, the phone would flash the TWRP screen then just reset itself. Again, I thought no biggie ill just reinstall TWRP. This (again) proved to be useless, after multiple (successful) install's the phone still refused to boot into TWRP. So I finally got CWM to install, a noticed a few things at the bottom of the screen about something not being mounted properly, I didn't pay that much attention to it, i just wanted my phone back at that point. I tried to wipe my phone for a fresh flash, but as soon as the wipe began the phone reset itself. At this point I was on the brink of throwing this thing into the torrential down-pour that god decided to place in my city.
Next I tried to install Viper ROM because I knew it had a wipe functionality built into it's Aroma installer. Went through all the checklists got to the start install screen, clicked next, and then began to wipe......... and then reset again........
So finally I got TWRP reinstalled, and go install a fresh ROM and and immediately met with a screen full of : "Unable to Mount XXXXXXX" (Picture attached). So then I figure alright well my last resort has to be to use a RUU. Found this nice little thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726) and decided to use the FUU (4.19.401.11 Full Wipe). Unfortunately all that did was move my HBoot from 1.4 (or something like that) to 1.5 (or something like that), put the tamper flag back, and bring back the annoying red text at the bottom of the phone at boot (the thing about development build, blah blah blah). I reinstalled TWRP yet again hoping for the best, but still nothing. It cant seem to mount anything (what ever that means).
So now im here, stuck using my old One X. Any suggestions or answers or criticism would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!!!!!
