this is a simple xposed module to disable the sprint systemui flag.
this gets rid of the persistent gps icon and gives you evdo/lte signal icons instead of the sprint 3g/4g ones.

can you add the signal bars to the module, instead of the 6 bar sprint signal make it 5 bars like the generic M7? that would be awesome

You can do that very simply yourself. Download a good file exploit app, make sure you give it root permissions and mount system as rw. Navigate to system/customize/acc and open default.xml. Now find this line

6

And simply change the integer to 5. Dave the xml, reboot and enjoy. If you search through that default.xml you may find allot of things that you want to change. Have fun....

I can, but I'm not sure it would be worth the effort. why would you want that? the default signal icons are useless (showing "3G" for both 1x and ev-do), and afaik every custom rom removes the gps icon anyway.
I'm not saying I won't do it, I'm just saying someone would have to convince me that it's worth putting more effort into doing it than it would take for someone to flash a custom rom.

No every custom rom removes the gps icon, at least no the Sprint port of ViperOne, that's why i'm using your module, because removing the icon myself for some reason breaks the wifi, and regarding the signal icons, well it's just that sprint icons right or wrong are the only ones i know for the past 8 or 9 years so....
I couldn't get this to work. Copied it over and installed via ES Explorer, but nothing happened. It said it installed successfully but after restart the stock icons are still there (GPS and data)

I noticed that in the xposed module statusbar mods you have to do a soft boot for it to take. A hard boot doesn't work for some reason I'm unsure why.

You need to install Xposed Installer first and then run it through that. Just google Xposed and you should be able to find an apk. Extremely useful app. Sense 5 toolbox is another great app to run through xposed.

Can you confirm it's working on 4.4.2?

Don't know of this has been mentioned before, but its an easy way to get rid of the sotfkeys.
Add this line to your build.prop, then reboot.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
This should work on all ROMs and devices 4.x.x.
To re-enable the softkeys, just change the 1 to a 0 and reboot.

CM doesn't really have it. They have "Expand Desktop" but that takes away the notification bar too. I still use the method in the OP to remove the nav bar everytime I flash a new CM nightly.
Update 2: Attached is an EPST that will allow ##778# PRL changes on KitKat ROMS. It took me a while to figure this out. I had planned on posting this up, but wanted to keep it a Bad Boyz exclusive for a short while. Again the teams intention was always to share this with the community.
Update: I finally cracked EPST. If you have changed your sku to 42, you can set it back to 10 and flash the PRL_Update below. If you have not flashed this, and would like ##778# to work, you can flash the EPST_Only.zip
The EPST will not work on a ROM that already has the sku set to 42
The attached zip includes a modified Phone.apk and the EPST and Fieldtrial apks posted by schmeggy929. This MOD will allow you to change your PRL by dialing ##778# while maintaining the proper CDMA settings under settings> Mobile Data. You need to be rooted to do this.
Instructions:
1) Open a file manager and navigate to system/customize/ACC/default.xml. Open this with an editor and near the bottom change:

10

To:

42

2) Reboot into recovery and flash the attached zip
3) Wipe caches and reboot
Note: Depending on how the location icon was removed from your ROM, this MOD may cause it to reappear. For those on 5.5 ROMs. this will also get rid of the persistent 3G icon in the status bar.

EcliticOne and Insertcoin both have the sku_set to 42, but they aren't using the Phone.apk that I modified. If you flash the zip on those ROMs you will have to manually set the network mode.
EDIT: Also- on EclipticOne, I don't know how this might jack up the inversion. If someone wants to post up their Phone.apk, I will modify it so that you guys will have the proper CDMA settings- i.e. the ability to switch LTE on and off- while maintaining the color scheme.

Thanks chas :good:
EPST worked fine for me with insertcoin but I have seens others saying it dont work for them for some strange reason so this mod may be useful for those guys too.
This did bring EPST functionality back on InsertCoin R289. However, it does not get rid of the persistent 3G icon and it does bring the location icon back. Any body have any idea how to fix those two problems?

That is going to have to be fixed by whoever cooked up your particular ROM. 5.5 is not ready for prime time where sprint is concerned. The persistent 3g icon and the location icon are there by HTC's doing.

If you have a themed Phone.apk, have your sku set to 10 (please check out the OP), and flash the EPST_Only.zip it will have no other effect than to give you the ##778# function.
I tried this on TranquilOne and the only way I got it to work was to make the edit(changing 10 to 42) and flash the PRL.zip. Only downside was it gave me a black on black EPST popup the one where you choose View or Edit. I tried the EPST zip and it wouldn't even bring up the menu.

I modded the nexus 6's systemui apk to center the clock, and make it gray. So far its working well enough. It looks a little weird on the lockscreen though, as it is not quite aligned with the other icons. Feel free to flash it and let me know how it goes. Backup your system first though.
I flashed it.. Nice work!
Hopefully we can see it removed from the lockscreen completely once the bugs are worked out.

How did u solve it? Does it bootloop?
So, thanks to this thread by @Ticklefish and of course the great work by @scrosler giving us CleanROM 1.1. I made a "center clock and Carrier Text removed" (from normal status bar, it's still on lockscreen status bar though) SystemUI.apk.
This is deodexed and so you need to be on a deodexed ROM or I think you can just delete the files in the arm64 folder, but I'm not 100% on if that will work.
Put the file in /system/priv-app/SystemUI/ and change permissions to 0644.
If this does not work, don't blame me, I am not the one moving the files and such on your phone, you are, and so YOU take responsibility for YOUR actions.
Edit: had to remove the ROM from the other thread, there was a misunderstanding of the Dev's ROM OP which lead to me thinking it was OK to use, it was not. I may try again but it'll be a while, I have much more important things in my life then redoing work.
Nice!
On that thread, there is a post with a smali mod for stopping the clock from showing on the lockscreen. I can't guarantee that it'll work but it's worth trying!

Not unless you want bootloops. This is deodexed. You need a deodexed ROM. You MAY be able to delete the files in arm64 folded and replace the apk with mine, then fix permissions and reboot. I can't promise that will work though as I've not tried.

Deodexed or no? Clean rom is no deodexed by itself. Also the SystemUI is pulled from OE2 so it probably won't work on OCE based ROMs

Keep a notification active ( signal check keeps your signal in notification, blocking AT&T, sure others like tasker and such can to).
No other easy way I know of. Convince the system your on a different carrier ( not sure how). Get exposed to work and make a module. Decompile SystemUI yourself and make the XML changes.

Google around for CSC edits. You can change a CSC value to imitate a Verizon S6 and you'll lose the carrier notification.

You must decide if you want to use Google IncallUI or Samsung InCallUI. Samsung InCallUI will allow too still receive and switch to video calls and the google IncallUI will only support HD calling. To switch to google IncallUI goto settings/applications click on default applications choose calling app and click on the blue phone app. To switch back to samsung IncallUI is a little more complicated. You will need an app like root explorer and goto data/system/users/0 and then findthe setting_secure.xml and delete and then restart phone. This will restore samsung IncallUI as default
You will also want to turn edge features off since everthing is deleted
Also you need to goto SuperSU app and goto settings and click on enable su during boot and also click trust system users
Goto this thread and under Recommended Next Steps find the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip or latest version and flash to fix kernel lage and doze fix.
Goto setting/about phone
Click on build number 5 times to enable developer options
Change animation and duration scales to .05 this will speed up phone
You will also have to change charging/file mode from within developer options
Remember Wiping Dalvik cache will cause phone to take up to 10 min to boot on deodexed roms
If using samsung IncallUI here is a fix for call phone FC and also location service fix

This is basically nothing but a bootable rom with like 5 apps installed thats it there are over 180 running apps removed. I kind of thought it would be cool to be able to build your rom how ever you want it without having to worry about what you can delete and what you cannot. I appreciate the support especially on new development. Understand I have many threads and and other devices so i sometimes keep my answers short and direct especially when using the mobile app which I hate using.

Ok, that is what I thought. I just was trying to determine if there was anything else major missing from that other ROM, knowing some apps would have to be pulled or installed, hence your "Playstore" moniker for this ROM. Ok, this is a good clean base ROM for those who like to order "a la carte" down the road when the need for other features are required. I may give it a spin for the fun of it.
Cool! We are good.
sweet idea
Inb4 crazy high battery stats
Just finished flashing about 4 minutes ago. Still suck on the white SAMSUNG logo. Is this normal?
UPDATE: Took like 8 minutes to boot. Runs fine.
Downloading now. Been waiting for something like this. Cheers.

I'm using the Google incall with no issues at all. Probably no need to flash if that's what you're using.
So far the ROM is nearly perfect.
Having some MMS issues again. It only works when Wifi is turned off or not connected to a network.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I even flashed your fix it ZIP.
Hey I'm considering installing this ROM because I live the minimalism of it. How's the performance? Anyone mind posting an AnTuTu score?

I actually found one of the battery saver apps to be causing the issue. I think it was amplify through xposed, it caused the mobile data to turn off when connected to wifi. So, i turned it off and haven't had an issue since.
