Is there a leak of the GE HTC One rom? Because as soon as that is out, you guys will basically have partial AOSP support from HTC.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Nothing more. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.

Yeah, there is. It's available on every Htc One except for the sprint variant http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395 The kicker is that the Google Edition rom is made for GSM networks, therefore no CDMA support. Sucks to be us.
*jumps off cliff*
By the way i'm pretty sure that works kind of like an old app called bootmanager. What is does is makes a boot, data, system, and cache partition on your SD card, and when you want to change roms it just flashes the new boot.img which tells the phone to boot off of the new System partiton on your SD card. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

I still have the Bootmanager apk, but I don't think it will work on the One. I haven't tried to get S-off yet so I haven't installed it.

I couldn't find the flashlight app on my phone, not sure why it wouldn't be included it's very handy to have. I have also liked the HTC one. I couldn't find anything posted about in the Sprint forums here so figured I would post this since Sprint & HTC decided not to include it. I'm not taking credit for ripping the apk, I just coundn't find it anywhere here. Found this posted over at Android Central, suppose to be the HTC flashlight that is included with the international version of the one. I tested it on my Sprint one works just fine.

Become a dev yourself.
Look, the dev scene is just starting out. The phone hasn't even been out a month. Give it some damn time. There is no point in calling a devs work dumb just because it's missing one feature you would like to have. Especially this early in the game. They do this for free, they get nothing out of releasing their work, so you learn to code and add in the features you want, or suck it the **** up, cupcake.

Oh, and if I feel the need to learn the ins and outs of the application side of an os I can easily replace with linux, maybe i will become an android dev, but for now, i'll work on porting ubuntu to this phone,
Is that okay with you?
One more thing, when someone asks 'is this possible' and someone else says 'no' i take that as 'not yet'. I was basically saying 'that's dumb' to his response, not the fact that the app lacks functionality (which i understand will come in time, i develop bro, for posix based systems)

Knowing Sprint we won't get this update for 6 months after it is officially released internationally. Android handset manufacturers need to take a cue from Apple and tell them that they have no say in updates other than makeing sure they are compatible with the radios on a particular device for their network. If Apple can do it so can they, or does apple hold a patent on that.

My point is that the carriers hold up updates period. Doesn't matter which carrier it is. Sprint may be faster than other carriers I won't deny that, but they still delay them for what ever reason. I am not hating on sprint alone, they are all guilty of it. I realize they need to test the software on their particular network but that doesn't always justify the length of delay. But thanks for playing.

Just a heads up I downloaded the android revolution 4.2.2 that was released in the International ONE forum and it has a sprint folder in it with sprint libs, etc so you guys may want to check it out. It also has t-mobile and at&t folder too so i guess he's for one fully compatible zip. Dev is a beast. Also the zip is about 1 GB...all the separate carrier stuff bumped it up a bit.
Try at your own risk.....
EDIT...I checked out his install script and he got the right partition numbers for flashing on the sprint one.
I wouldn't say the carriers "hold" the updates. Lots of testing is needed to insure a good product on their network.

Keep in mind several factors:
A. HTC might not even push their updates to American carriers until they're done with international versions, due to customizations carriers require here.
B. Different modems and signal bands require additional development and testing time.
C. The testing of a device is actually quite lengthy, because the last thing a carrier (and HTC) wants is some incompatibility causing interference with towers or something. This is why the FCC checks these devices btw.
My friend on T-Mobile is getting the update OTA right now as I type this... c'mon Sprint!

I know it's CDMA and everything, but does that make a difference? And If it makes a huge difference and I'm just being stupid, please explain why? I want to flash ARHD to my One, but I can't since it doesn't work on Sprint!
It's not hard to make a rom for it but because of the hardware differences, it's impossible to make a cross flashable Rom for cdma and gsm.

On of top that Sprint has such inconsistent and spotty service in many parts of the country. Some parts of the country Sprint compatible networks are all but absent.
There's a reason why Sprint subscribers can get such great price and package deals for their phones & data plans... Becausr they cannot hold onto customers who get lured in by the great deals, then as soon as they leave their comfortable metropolitan areas, they have zero signal in some random small town, where the average AT&T and Verizon customers have at least some phone service.

Using Aroma it is quite easy to do this. There were many ROMs in the EVO 3D forums that had one flash-able zip for GSM and CDMA phones. You just selected in Aroma. I believe Trick Droid for the One in the International forum is also like this.
And it is not harder to make ROMs for the Sprint version. It is just a matter of DEVs. There are more developers for the GSM version and some are more actively developing and therefore there are more ROMs available. Also they have a 4.2.2 kernel as is for their phone and there has not been one released for the Sprint version. Once there is a 4.2.2 Kernel available for the Sprint variant you'll see lots of movement.

I think once we get a SPrint 4.2.2 kernel/firmware there will be more crossover, mostly the difference in the the variants is at the kernel level.

I agree; I think people are waiting too. It's hard to invest a lot of time into developing a ROM when we'll get a 4.2 release "soon". Sometimes one can just diff to see what's different and incorporate the new features into an already made custom ROM (or vice versa), but it's easier and more stable to start over.

Short answer is no.
I believe the Sprint phones are Hardware rev 0004 which means they would need a kernel for our specific hardware. It's mostly a kernel thing.

Also. Kernel has almost nothing to do with cellular connections, it specifies how the software should interact with the hardware and nothing else
