what do you mean by that?!!!!
Sony is not like Samsung to create different version of one damn phone, like Octa and Snapdragon 600 versions of that toy, called S4!
so, except NETWORK, which i think is different in China and therefore there should be some changes is Radio in the phone, then the rest of the hardwares are the same....

I very much doubt it, as the hardware is almost certainly different. (The model number is).
At a minimum:
1. The Japanese version supports Saifu Keitai (Felica) in addition to NFC.
2. The Japanese version has 1seg TV
3. IR support, as is demanded by Japanese consumers (IR is universal in Japan for transferring contact info between any two phones)
4. Of course all the Docomo APN settings, etc. are baked into the Docomo firmware.
5. The frequencies supported may be different (unsure)
6. The amount of "ROM" is different. (This means flash memory?)
If you don't care about the above, there is a chance you might be able to flash the UK firmware with only a loss of functionality for 1 and 2 - but trying to flash the Japanese firmware on an English model might fail when it tries to access the hardware that the overseas models don't have.
For example, if you flash a ROM for the global Acro HD into a Japanese Acro HD it mostly works (except uhm the battery won't charge until you fix that which has better be fast!) I am not sure if anyone has tried the reverse.
There are many small details too, like "area mail", which is used for earthquake alerts in Japan, etc. Also bear in mind that unless you ask Docomo to unlock the phone, it's locked to a certain type of DoCoMo mini SIM. Also, there are baked in apps for DoCoMo's email service, and their annoying "DoCoMo Pallette menu", etc.
What are you trying to do, and why?

[Q] Developer support on C6903

Well now it’s my turn again to ask a question. :silly: I’m going to buy a new phone as my old Galaxy note recently broke. And since Samsung are really bad at supporting AOSP/Cm development I’m thinking about getting the Z1. The thing that worries me is that in Norway the only Z1 model in sale is the C6903. Seeing that the there are a lot of different Z1 models I’m worried that only one of them is going to get the AOSP/Cm support that I’m looking for. So if anyone got some information if getting the C6903 would be a good choice for AOSP/cm support, that would make my choice a lot easier.
Thanks for any answers in advance.

I am not 100% sure. Only change among various model is the radio bands. it is mostly only hardware dependent. If any dependencies exists it will be only in baseband firmware which is different from phone OS. qualcomm uses AMSS as their baseband OS.. it is released for sony phone by sony only.. even if the phone is running any kernel or os.. baseband firmware will always be from sony. and you can flash it separately

Qualcomm Snap 800 features limited by Sony

I am somewhat confused with this release of the Xperia Z1.
Why is there a LTE/4G band selection? I can understand previous when they were using separate 4G Radios. This Qualcomm processor on board is supposed to support worldwide LTE bands on chip, so why mixes of models? Sony doing the dodge to sell more phones, and or protecting certain markets?
Good news even though Sony hasn't released it yet, it is the only processor model that has the ability to support 4k video. So I guess it is just a case of wait and see.
A question; Does the Xperia Z support USB 3.0? This would be a huge advantage for syncing media and uploading/downloading to and from the phone.

Z1 is a USB 2 phone, so no.

One model supports hspa only, one supports lte for many many markets... and another model for another market.
Its to save money.
Plus look at LG. They have snapdragon 800 and they limit the bands on the lg g2... Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

What to make 4 models is saving money when they only needed two, really in all reality only one would actually be required and allow the mobile providers to lock down if they wanted to.
Marketing, stamps for models, slight firmware changes... is not going to save money

Sony's done something which they've always done! They made a HSPA+ model for markets which don't have LTE and an LTE model for those who do.. The internals are the same pretty much except for the radios... They've done this with the Z, ZU etc also..

Is Radio Accessible/Included on on Snapdragon Chinese Variants?

I saw this phone listing on ebay: Samsung-Galaxy-Note-9-Dual-SIM-SM-N9600-Factory-Unlocked-Snapdragon-845-128GB
While the description includes the following under the comms sections:
Radio No
I was wondering if anyone owns this model and has been able to enable it, can confirm that the chip doesn't have it, that the phone doesn't come with drivers (but are available elsewhere) or if it is just a matter of installing Next Radio.
This is a Hong Kong/international variant.
I have radio on mine and seems to work it opens though I've never tried to actually use it.
If you have the digital radio app installed on your device then yes. You should be able to receive digital radio signals when you plug in your headset.

The problem is that there are different variants of this phone and each variant, depending on region where it is primarily sold is slightly different. Consequently, I am wondering if (and which) of the Hong Kong and Chinese variants with Snapdragon processors and Snapdragon chips feature the radio function, but just hide or don't include drivers for this functionality.
Yes I have 9600 that came with hk firmware.

Both the HK and Mainland China variants use the same hardware. The only difference is that the Mainland China variant doesn't come with Google Play Services preinstalled on it. You have to install it yourself.

Color burning (or screen burn-in) only happens when you run 100% brightness for an extended period of time on a white background. Avoid this and you'll be fine.
Qualcomm is American chipsets. They are locked and are regional models like U, U1, V. They cannot have custom roms at this period of time.
Exynos is the Samsung chipset. It is included in models like F, FD and N. It is unlocked and you are able to flash custom firmware/roms etc such as Lineage, TWRP, Magisk.
tl;dr if you don't know what custom roms are, it doesn't matter.
Just buy the same variant as the ones they sell locally at your phone shops.
Remember, samsung used Qualcomm's chipset for a very good reason...... If not they would have used their own exynos..

The only reason that Samsung used the Qualcomm SOC for the US and Chinese markets is due to regional restrictions. Personally, I prefer the Exynos variant of the Note 8. As the Exynos SOC has been proven to be more energy efficient.

Actually, no. Its the cdma. Since cdma is dying anyway, there is no need to invest to develop cdma into exynos.. That's why samsung just continued to use snapdragon for those markets.

If you care about ever flashing custom ROMs, then get an Exynos. The Qualcom variant can't be flashed this way. I'm happily running an imported SM-N950F in the USA on AT&T with zero problems.
