If you want to root your device, I suggest you use CF-Auto Root.This method is a high success rate.Before I used this method root in I9305ZHBMD1.
Sorry for my bad English :banghead:

[SOLVED] Problem in installing SentinelROM

Hi
Firstly, I'm new here, so please don't be too harsh
I tried to install SentinelROM into my i9305, but failed.
I followed the exact instructions by putting the ROM in my internal storage
I'm using CWM v5.5.0.4
When I chose the zip file (the ROM) using "choose zip from internal sdcard", this happened:
Code:
-- Installing: /emmc/sentinelrom_v4_75_i9305.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "
m3" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "m3" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "m3xx" || g
etprop("ro.build.prouct") == "m3xx" || g
etprop("ro.product.device") == "i9305" || getpro
p("ro.build.product") == "i9305" || getpr
op("ro.product.device") == "GT-I9305" || getprop
("ro.build.product") == "GT-I9305"
E:Error in /emmc/sentinelrom_v4_75_i9305.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I copied the above information exactly as shown on my phone
FYI, I do not have external storage (micro sd card)
Please advise
Try using a newer version of CWM or use Philz Touch Recovery!
It's based on the latest build of CWM and it has extra features like touchscreen support!
Here, look for the I9395 version of it and then flash it either with Odin (or Mobile Odin) or flash the zip through CWM.
Hope it helps

Copy the downloaded SentinelROM zip to your Internal Storage.
Boot into your custom recovery
Back up your stock ROM
Enter custom recovery
Factory Reset and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Format System Partition
Install the ROM

Thank you, but this was exactly what I did and then the problem occurred
As it is now solved, I think the problem was due to CWM
I've successfully installed it using Philz Touch Recovery

[Q] GT-S5830 - Error in /tmp/sideload/... (status 0)

Hello
I tried to install different Rom from different sites but every time I apply the update from the Recovery menu, the installation hangs for error Error in / tmp / sideload / ... (status 0)
I also tried to format the SD card but the error persists ... I also installed cwm ...
I seem to have tried one of these 2 ROM:
...needrom.com/mobile/galaxy-ace-s5830
...needrom.com/mobile/s5830-galaxy-ace
Currently there is Android 2.3.6 and if I install updates, the cel says it is updated
you must install cwm and then at cwm install zip from sdcard and not aplly update
tethering

[Q] Got stuck trying to update to kitkat

Hi,
I need help because after 20 hours of trying i gave up.
I've tried like 8 guides of how to update the rom and it always failed.
I tried 10+ rom versions and put them on sd card and it fails with "status 7" or just "aborted" with no reason.
i'm using cwm 6.0.3.0, and when i try to update it using odin it also fail.
also when i try to load the original stock rom for my country it fails with no reason just "aborted".
I also tried fastboot in download mode but it wont recognize my device even with correct drivers.
now the worst problem is that when i restore it to the previews backup it works but the device is unusable, stuck after one minute.
I'm really frustrated and i hop to get some help here.
Thanks
Download KitKat ROM, PA Gapps and most recent SuperSU v1.94 http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
+++ the 1&Only guide +++
- Download Raw kernel r4 r3p2 test > http://ge.tt/m/4wso5Hx
- Flash Raw kernel in your old recovery
- Go to advanced > choose reboot recovery! (Not System)
- Now in Raw kernel recovery CWM 6.0.4.4, you can
--- Flash KitKat ROM
--- Flash PA Gapps (full modular recommended)
--- Flash SuperSU
- Wipe data / factory reset
- Reboot
> You're on KitKat.
Status 7 > you need a recovery which is full SELinux compatible.

Should i do it within bootloader or odin?
***
tried to flash raw within recovery mode and got:
"E:Can't open /sdcard/raw_kernel_r3p2_test.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted."
From which recovery are you flashing right now?
Screenshot of about phone information, please?
Are you on stock recovery 3e right now.
Some more details of your exact setup, please.
Or bad download of raw kernel. Can you open the zip file?
Ok solved it,
Thanks man!
How?

Got stuck trying to update to kitkat (me too)
Dear Experts,
I believe my case is very similar to that starting this thread so I thought I'd just continue (hopefully not violating rules).
My Android was ICS stock version and my wish was to upgrade to KitKat.
(I did not make any backup.)
I followed these steps:
I rooted my system and installed PhilZ Touch 3 CWM Base version 6.0.2.7.
Then I proceeded to the upgrade following this guide:
"Update Galaxy Note N7000 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat Lightning ROM"
[sorry, am not allowed yet to insert ext links]
Step 10 resulted for me in:
Installing update...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/N7000-STABLEv1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
I retried step 10 using SlimKat - N7000 but with the same (Status 7) result.
This CWM seems ready further actions although it keeps looping even upon switch-offs (needed to remove battery to switch off effectively).
I hope all details have been given.
Please do advise me about further steps.
Thank you,
R.

Simple download the latest philz touch, flash it with recovery reboot your recovery and flash the rom u desired. Your recovery is outdated hence status seven error

Thank you Nic2215 and hello every helping soul!
I downloaded the latest file, MD5 checked OK.
Was not sure to be able to boot into recovery but kept the three buttons pressed while inserting the battery (current way to switch on) but I believe I succeeded in that.
Later I just chose boot into ecovery from within CWM menu.
Anyway it's been no success for me:
E:Error in /sdcard/philz_touch_6.25.0-n7000.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
BTW I noticed one detail - in the About section of CWM it reads among other lines:
Build version: 3.99 - i9100
I am quite sure I'd followed all rooting steps correctly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
and picked a zip file compatible with N7000 and my kernel XXLRI:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
-> PhilZ-cwm6 v3.99 with CWM 6.0.2.7 based recovery
-> PhilZ-cwm6-XXLRI-AUT-v3.99
Anybody able to help?
R.
You must have CWM 6.0.<b>4.4</b> or higher, which is fully SELinux compatible for KitKat.<br />
Just flash Raw kernel r4, reboot in recovery (of raw kernel ) and then do your flash and wipes.<br />
You can't simply install a newer recovery on our device, as kernel and recovery are bound together, but ...THIS IS BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR OUR DEVICE!!! <br />
#fail²<br/>
I appreciate your help.
Following your advice I found this resource:
-> [KERNEL][AOSP][10 Dec.] Raw Kernel r5 -- simple&fast kernel -- some KitKat love
but I can see:
Download :
r5 for KK4.4 (announce)
r4 for JB4.3 (announce)
Just would like to make sure that r4 - not r5 - fits my needs towards KitKat.
Suppose r4, then please assure me that my plan is correct:
1. Download raw_kernel_r4_j43.zip
2. On N7000 VolUp+Home+Pwr -> Install Zip -> Choose zip from sdcard -> raw_kernel_r4_j43.zip
3. Advanced -> Reboot Recovery
4. -> Install Zip -> Choose zip from sdcard -> N7000-STABLEv1.zip (Lightning Rom Android 4.4.2 ROM )
Please excuse my basic questions - I just realize I may not allow myself further mistakes. Certainly did not mean to offend or irritate anybody here.
Regards,
R.

You may download either r4 or r5,r4 is cwm and r5is twrp. I would suggest to go with r4 and then flash r4 first, reboot recovery, do the wipes and then flash rom with gapps (or without) and superSU.

Make sure that your phone has a recovery which is compatible with the version of Android you are trying to install. I had a similar issue with TWRP when installing CM12.1. My version was too old and it kept giving me an installation error when I tried to install the zip file. Updating your recovery might help.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
Good luck
