[Q] Factory Reset when volumn up down isn't working

I bought a used N1 and started setting it up before I realized the volume up/down rocker doesn't work. I set up a return with the seller but I would like to do a factory reset first since I set up my mail and stuff.
I have searched around and couldn't come up with a way to factory reset that didn't involve using the volume up/down to navigate.
Anybody know of a way to factory reset without the volume up/down? Can I use the Android SDK adb.exe?
Thanks in advance for any help...
With the phone turned off, press and hold Trackball+Power+Vol down until you see a white screen with 3 Android on skateboards. Select recovery from the menu and clear data.
I can get to the recovery screen via adb reboot recovery but the Volume UP AND the Volume Down buttons aren't working so I can't select anything!!!
Anyone know of another way to reset?

How to reset Galaxy Note?

What are the possible resetting?
Soft Reset, hard reset, etc...
And how do I do them?
WIll they harm the OS in anyway?
I want to clean the device after testing it so it will be clean when it is given as a gift.
Put it back in the state as it was (hard reset).
Possible in the menu (Settings/Privacy), or: Take the sim out, and than *2767*3855#
can someone tell me the difference between hard reset and soft reset
various methods by which you can do it
guys can you also tell me in which reset i will get the note as it was out of the box
also please tell me when i do this reset my current stock rom (LB2) will be revereted to kl3 or i will be in lb2
i am noob
thanks
Soft reset is nothing just removing background application/process. As you just reboot your device.
Hard reset, wipe off your data, n will b just as out of box.
you can do with
1. setting - privacy - factory data reset (if you select format USB storage, then only data on USB storage will be wiped, as such no needed)
2.From recovery, Vol up + home + power - select wipe data
Hard reset won't revert back to previous ROM, it will same ROM which is you have right now. To revert back to old ROM, you need PC Odin.
dr ketan
thanks for your answer
one more question will backup with your kies will be sufficient to restore all the data
after hard reset
how to restore all apps
thanks
I have neber used kies for this purpose
you can use My Back up (non rootable version) to backup data.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rerware.android.MyBackup&feature=search_result
It will have less set of function for non rooted note.
volume up+home+power button doesnot work why
2.From recovery, Vol up + home + power - select wipe data
after i off my mobile and then i press vol up+home+power button ........a boot screen appears with its model name but doesnot go to that reset mode ......Dr ketan why its not working .....what should i do now

[Q] ATT Galaxy Tab will not Factory Reset - Overcome Rom

Hi,
I have installed the Overcome Rom v4.0 on my Galaxy Tab. Now I need to wipe it with a hard reset.
I choose factory reset within the settings menu. It brings up the 3e recovery menu. I choose "wipe data / factory reset" but when the reboot finishes, nothing has changed! All my data is still on the machine.
I am using the "home" button as the "Enter" button. This is the only item I found to fulfill this function.
Is this correct? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the search button is the "execute" button.
To be sure, use vol up and vol down to scroll, and tap the power button to execute

[Q] Blocked android "Jelly Bean" requests google login

Hello ..
I am Brazilian and I'm in Spain ... I have a "Motorola Razr I" phone and there was a problem in the android system. I have the version "Jelly Bean" installed.
The unlock pattern has been wrong more than 25 times, causing it to be asked to the Google account and password. I know what my account and my password, but the system does not accept it.
Already tried the recovery and factory options and nothing worked. Does anyone know what can be done? I'm really needing my phone to connect with my relatives in Brazil.
Thank's!

If it doesn't work, try to re-flash your OS with RSD Lite
Do as jquesadar has explained
but release the Power button immediately when the phone vibrates. The timing has to be perfect, not even a second too long....
