I noticed that location services causes a lot of my battery drain, as my idle battery usage after disabling it was much lower. Is there anyway to fix this? I thought google play update 4.1.10 fixed this?

Yeah, my Google Play Update fixed the location services drain...personally, my pet peeve with battery life is mostly due to the Sense UI using a lot of juice when I read articles on Blinkfeed. Do you have the same issue as well? Seems like even when I'm gaming, Sense still manages to be up there in terms of usage...
Hi all, my att HTC one is rooted with Google play edition 4.4.2, xposed framework, and gravitybox. According to my battery stats, I have 35% battery with Android system taking 55% and Google services 33%. I have 2.5 hrs screen on time. Anyone have an idea what the problem is?
Thanks in advance

Did you tried to change location settings?
In what way? I'm also using Google experience launcher.

settings--> location
then disable wifi and mobile data location
My battery is charging now, when it hits 100% I'll test it. One other thing- since rooting and installing stock the battery seems to charge way faster now. Is this normal or is it a problem with my battery?
After 5 min, with WiFi and location data off, I played a bit of a game. Here is what happened. Battery down to 91%. Android system took 84% the game (its 2d) took 4 percent, and the screen took 2%. Any thoughts?

download a battery management app so you can seen exactly what is draining your battery. With stock htc battery app, it show me android system is draining my battery, but with other app I can pinpoint what is draining my battery. Maybe try this one
Done. Apparently android ui is taking 50% of my battery.
One other thing- I tried to use ART to save battery but it wouldn't enable- when I enabled it would rest at and still be using dalvik. This is with xposed, gravitybox uninstalled. Why does this happen?

Hello, I have problem with play battery drain. I actually googled alot and ussualy they say disable locations... Is there any better way for our HTC ONE?
Hi,
The google app is using the most battery on my phone... why is this??
Sometimes it does it to me also. Usually it's because something makes it use gps for hours. See if your gps is used when you tap the battery graph.
Rebooting usually fixes it for me.
So I just disabled the Google App nd the drain has stopped...
Shouldn't have had to disable it tho...but I don't know why it was draining so bad
Sent from my D5803 using XDA Free mobile app
Same problem here. I don't know what's causing it but it makes the phone hot and drains battery.
Google App!!!
how did you disable the google app? what exactly was disabled? location? Google Now? Google Plus?
I'm seeing the same thing. I unplugged my fully charged phone and went to bed (i.e. idle). Checked the phone in the morning and had burned through 33% of my battery in just under 11 hours with "google App" accounting for 83% of the battery usage.
I just sideloaded 5.1 and I use Battery widget pro.
After 5.1 when I unplug my device this widget tells me I have 8 hours of battery left.
Even on 5.0 my battery seemed pretty poor but at least it would be at 12 to 14. I just don't get how it can be that bad.
Sometimes after turning it off then back on the battery level will adjust to something higher.
Is this possibly an app issue draining my battery? Anyone have any tips suggestions?
Best,
Ryan

Let it run for a day and see how much battery life you actually get. Maybe let it drain all the way out once and recharge it to 100%. I know when I ran custom ROMs on my Nexus devices, it would take a couple of days before the battery stats adjusted and displayed correct info. I once had a battery meter say 1% for about an hour before my phone died after switching to a new ROM.
How did it go? I noticed massive battery draining wakelocks on 5.1, related to phone and location. Without Xposed I don't know how to control them.
Cheers!
