Hi there!
Don't worry! (I think... lol)
I have the same "issue"...
I think it's normal.. You should be worried if you see water get inside the "orange area", where the battery is.
I wash my phone once a week and when i finish, i dry it with a towel and open the back cover to dry some little drops of water that entered the camera and lower area, as you said.
Always make sure the back cover and connections are really closed and it should be fine! (I hope! )

Yes it actually might. No seal would last forever. So be a little careful. Try to swap as little as possible or get a larger sd card.

Well honestly I don't know the build quality of your phone so I can't comment on how long it will last. I wasn't trying to scare you or anything, was just saying that any lock/seal will deteriorate over time with usage. But maybe it would last so long that you wouldn't have to worry.

No problem! Try not to open and close it too much.
that's normal....
even xperia active still has water inside ... but , the water there , as in near of camera, is not dangerous ... as long as the water doesn't pass through the rubber seal

So I've had my XZ for a week now, I'm on my 2nd one which I had exchanged. I've noticed on this one the flap that covers the charging port doesn't press down completely! If I press down on it there seems to be a slight movement, like 0.5mm of give, not much but I'm worried if I decide to put it into water would it survive?
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I being really nit picky! My first one shut completely flush.

I've noticed that as well, as long as you press in the end of the flap nearest the top of the phone first, I find it holds the cover in more securely.

i have no problem with it!
it keeps in its port properly B
Mine sit tightly. Maybe ask Sony about it as they might be faulty. If they move - it means they don't sit there properly and might leak ( i think )

How tough are these flaps? and what if one was to come off?
I ask because the other morning, got up late out of bed, picked up my XZ and pulled charger cable out also pulling on the flap, with it being dark and couldn't see properly, I thought i'd pull the flap off as that's what it felt like. Thankfully I never, but scared me a little

hey guys
i have got a problem with my phones's speaker... the first time i went to the pool with the phone i used just 10 seconds under the water to capture movie, after i got the phone out i couldnt hear anything after while like 3 or 4 hrs it became normal (tried sucking it -.- ) but the quality became shi*ty then after one week the phone got heated like it was burning after playing some games so i decided to put it under water for a second i also covered the speaker with my thumb but i guess it didnt work and again water went inside and now after two days the speakers quality is as bad as possible i cant understand anything from songs and its so low...
I just wanted to ask did u get the any problems like this ?
how can i solve it ? should i use the warranty to change the speakers? its a waterproof phone right they have to change it right?
So when u sucked it, that's when you couldn't understand the music? If so, you may possibly damaged the speaker.
Maybe try blowing it instead this time and maybe dry with a hair dryer??
Hope you get it sorted

im not sure if that was sarcastic or not... but anyway, i tried them before and they made to become louder but the quality is still bad

do not blow dry it with anything, it will damage the phone, especially the melting the glue.
just let it sit and it will dry itself.

If quality is bad, as opposed to just volume, you may have punctured the speaker membrane by sucking on it. If that's the case, you're screwed. Don't put it in water again until you know otherwise.
Also, I'd be careful putting it in water when it's hot, I've heard people have had the glass shatter by warming/cooling it too quickly, it's no different to any other glass, after all.

Some people speak about the same symptom to the flaps wearing out: they start to open by themselves. Mine did that exactly 3 minutes after I did a water test on it. It started to come out by itself but it did that only once. I now have the charging dock so I don't open mine anymore. The key question is: can these flaps be replaced? The Xperia Z users can buy spare flaps on a website but to this date nobody has actually replaced his/her flap so we don't know how exactly it can be done.
me too
my flaps are loose too with barely 1 month. Ive been looking for answers to this for about more than a week and found nothing so far other that ''send it to a sony service center'' -_- this is ridiculous! cant even put it underwater anymore! this is the last time sony receives a single dolar from me
Open the flap and clean the rim of the opening where the usb connection is and the rubber plug on flap. They will get oil and grime in there making it impossible to stay closed. It works for me. Just keep it clean and you will be fine.

Unfortunately today I also noticed small "pixels" of dust under my screen too. I do not think there is a way to clean it without opening the device. We should probably find a way to prevent that..
So still no one knows how to open the screen safely. Theres two star shaped screws on either side of the phone on the bezel, would that help to remove screen or am I going to risk breaking something? Please help.
bro if u take my advice dont do it yourself. I know how difficult it is to ignore it when u notice it.
By if u do it ur self u may put more of it then taking it out.
So if u really want it then take it to a preoffesional.
Sony repair quoted me 40 pounds. Id rather do it myself.

Do I have to disassemble the whole phone from the back just to get to the front glass or is there an easier way?
Yes and as was previously suggested don't do it yourself you will just ruin the device of you are not an electronics engineer to put it back together as you found it. Its a tough job to reverse engineer electronic devices even those who are easily accessible imagine doing the same thing to your compact phone

The only way would be to disassemble the phone. The front digitiser is not glued to the LCD on this model as it is with other phones so it's not as hard as it may seem to get the dust out. Although you will need to completely disassemble the phone to get to the dust.

I have these PDF's downloaded so let me know if you need.

I have a problem, i accidentaly cracked my back glass, not fulli, but just 1 line about... 3cm long. Line starts near sd card slot and ends about 1cm near aux port. Is it still waterproof?
Btw, i have a original protection film.

I...wouldn't try it. I think your phone just became "oh #*&$" accident water proof. ie. if you drop it in the neighbors pool or something on accident you're probably fine, but I wouldn't put the "1.5 meters/30 minutes" part to the test anytime soon.
This also probably compromises any warranty given on the water proofness. If they see that it has a cracked back they could easily use that as an excuse not to repair it under warranty claim.
Just like i thought guys, but i think its still waterproof, because the film helps glass keep in his place, and the edges of the glass is still glued. That crack is like hair, really small. Ill try to take a picture in the evening, because its morningright now.

The film could have scratches or little tears in it itself...
Plus who is to say that the film isn't slightly lifted.
You are betting on a lot on a very thin layer of plastic.
Is it worth the price of a new phone?
It's like when you put beers in a cooler. Wait for the ice to melt and you'll see all the stickers on the beer bootle lift up and float on the water.
Simple physics, water will find the smallest whole, smallest gap, smalest opening and make it trough. That's the reason not all devices are IP rated, most of them don't even bother to manufacture something "tight" enough to get a rating, and even if they do, it's more likely a IPX7, not IPX8 like Xperia's.
Water is strong, and it will find its way.
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/discover-more/water-and-dust-resistance/ look guys, Sony xperia z1 ip58
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah guys you're probably right.. The risk is not worth it
As already mentioned here.
It is not worth the risk, you get water in the phone and no warranty, because there is damage on the phone that was not there when you received the phone.
If a phone goes in that has water damage. They clean all the flaps to ensure no debris, then close them, then test the phone to ensure that the phone is watertight at 1.5m for about 30 minutes.
Water in phone = warranty, no water in phone = no warranty. It would be determined that water in the phone had to be lack of care from the user, not keeping flaps clean, closing them properly or even leaving them open.
Further to this, I am certain they would just say the crack in the glass was the issue, again deemed to be user negligence.
I've faced this problem before. I drop my phone on 3 feet high, and crack my front tempered glass protector. And guess what? My phone dead when I submerged it underwater for less than 30s. And yes, water going inside.
if you got air tester machine u lucky but i recommend you bring to sony center
