[Q] Stock Samsung keyboard on Android 4.2.1 - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys
as many in this forum have surley noticed, the autocorrect function was removed with the android upgrade to 4.1.
I would like to reactivate the auto correct / autoinsert function of the stock samsung keyboard again if possible. In other party of the forum people seem to have been sucessfull in doing it, by replacing the respective file. Their instructions however do not work for the galaxy S3 mini it seems.
Does anybody know how I could do it? Please do not suggest third party keyboards I am really just interessted in the stock samsung keyboard.
thank you!

Have you tried extracting it from another rom and then pulling it via root explorer? I'm kinda sure it shouldn't cause you any trouble :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Can i Simply Flash a Rom From HTC Sence to my Samsung Galaxy Note

Hi Guys, I just wanna know that is it possible for me just to download a Rom from HTC Sence 3.5 and just flash it to my Samsung Galaxy Note, Have anyone tried that or will that work out something or will it brick the phone... Just wanna know... sorry if its sound stupid for guys who is well expirienced since i'm a newbie here... Thanks
defntly not.. everything is completely diff..kernel,ROM,etc,etc..
Try if you don't have a paper weight in your house..
Well if you have nothing better to do you could just try and post ur results you know

Would you take a bios from a PC and flash that into a MAC and then expect OSX to work correctly?
No, of course not, because they are two different hardware platforms..just like each and every android phone is a completely different platform.
Look at all the hardware dependent items in this architecture....
My strong suggestion is to research, learn and understand about what you are doing before you actually do it..or you will be yet one more user with a low post count starting a thread entitled "Did i brick my phone..."

Dont give this kind of advice even as a joke. These are expensive "toys" and to assist someone in bricking a $600 - $700 piece of hardware is NOT very nice.
OP... As others have mentioned... There are MAJOR differences between Touchwiz and Sense, Samsung and HTC so no... DO NOT try this or you will brick your device.
Thank You very much guys for your guidance here..
Simplifying the question
ok i understand that HTC and Samsung are two different devices.
I have used samsung galaxy gio with ease and liked that very much.
1 ------- Currently i have htc please tell me can i put Samsung Galaxy gio ics 4 rom in htc explorer.
answer if no -- then can i at least use samsung keyboard some how on HTC explorer . i have its apk but it does not get installed.
2-------- Can i use HTC ICS 4 official rom to flash on HTC explorer ( with my little knowdge i assume platform is same ) will it work
and if i try and it dont work i can go back to restore original setting ( will it harm or damage device )
Please tell me.
Note that i have replace my Samsung gio with HTC explorer ( only beacuse of short Ram )

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Dart / SGH-T499 Question

Hi all,
My girlfriend just got a Samsung Dart / SGH-T499. It runs Android 2.2 and suffers from a lack of many apps in the Play Store (I think because the Android is so old). She would prefer an official update. I found this: http://yagyagaire.blogspot.in/2011/12/how-to-upgrade-samsung-galaxy-pop-to.html#.T94PzrWe73Q
But it is for the "Samsung Galaxy Mini" which I think is the same as the Dart, but not 100% and do not want to brick the phone.
Can anyone confirm if this would work, or if not, what else I could do to get her a newer but relatively vanilla Android?
Thanks,
Weaseal
No, the mini and the dart are different. Check out my sig for some good places to get started. You can root your dart using superoneclick root. Just google "root samsung dart superoneclick". Then follow the links in my sig to install cwm and then flash cm7 by DashBlack from madteam forums. If you have any ?'s don't hesitate to ask here or pm me

Is there any way to root the Dart without SuperOneClick?
CM9/CM10? Anyone?
I wonder if anyone is porting CM9 or CM10 to the Dart?
Would love to have CM9, at least.

No. I used SuperOneClick to Root the dart.
Take a look over HERE for a good tutorial.
Maybe, you could try something like THIS method but, the SuperOneClick is the easiest.
If you need drivers for Windows, you can download THIS and install it, then connect the phone and it will install.
This is not a question forum ...

Can I use XDA datas on my tab?

HI guys. I am newbie of here.
Now I am using SHW-M180S which is Galaxy Tab of SK Telecom in Korea. I want to change my booting animation and use other many ROMs or MODs etc… My tab is Rooted. Can I use any XDA datas on Galaxy Tab Original Firmware of Korea? If I can't what should I do? Please help me.
Sent from my SHW-M180S using xda app-developers app
hi
make sure that you know what kind of gtab you have, is it (p1000 or p1000L or p1000N) ..., and then you need to know what (version of android) your tab is running, after that, you should check your (bootloader) , is it protected or not, and finally you can start flashing roms.
hint : the best way to learn about all this stuff is doing your own, personal research. the key words are between brackets, use the search tool of xda and look for those words.
best regards ^_^

Thanks for your reply, Sifou.
I think that p1000 and other somethings are Model Number of GLOBAL version Galaxy Tab. But mine is KOREAN version and as I wrote it is SHW-M180S. And my Android version is 2.3.6 GingerBread.
But I dont know about bootloader clearly so I will search over it and try other things by myself.

Thanks for Helping
But unfortunately, I can't find my solutions at the thread. Because I am a Korean, I have Korean Firmware files.
While Searching, I found a bad news.
"Korean's Galaxy Tab(SHW-M180S) and GT-P1000's partition structure is different so if I Flash the ROM data partition does not normally activate "
This is a sentence of the thread which the developer of Korean Community uploaded in XDA. Very Sad. He is asking the solution for other developers so I should find this thread.
dear friend
there is a million way to use your beautiful galaxy tab without flashing it, you can change the launcher, and almost every thing in the interface, icons, wallpapers and so, this device is very useful, and by the way, you have the latest version of gingerbread out of the box, which is great, and as you said, your tab is rooted, which is superb! you can do whatever the google play offers, titanium backup, call recorder, etc...
think about it
i hope that i helped you, i dont want to disappoint you, i just want you to know that your tab is already great without any flashing.
best regards ^_^

[Q] VOIP / SIP in Stock ICS (V30a)?

Hi all,
after following discussions on ICS for a long time, I finally have to turn to XDA for advice:
I flashed the europe open V30a and cannot find the SIP-accounts, which should be native in ICS. Has LG left this out of the release?
If so, is it possible to port them in on rooted phones, like it was done for Galaxy S2 devices?
Neither the search function nor google could help me.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I just noticed, I posted in the wron sub-forum, sorry for the mess!

[Q] XXAMC1 4.1.2 ROM for I9000

Hello,
I have Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105P with stock ROM XXAMC1 4.1.2 JB.
I'm used to this rom, and I want to put the same for my SGS I9000.
The problem is that I can't even find similar for this device. I tested many of the popular ROMs, but i couldn't find the right one.
Basically I want something similar like XXAMC1 for I9000.
I got used to use SIM contacts. I don't want to sync it with google and so on. I just want to use only SIM contacts.
In the Roms that i have been tested this is possible only with additional app, which is not my desire.
Please give me some suggestions.
Thank you.

You can port by zip porting method. Its easy just Google it.
I can't remember the steps at the moment. It works most of the time. I have ported a lot of gti9100g and nexus ROMs by this method.
If my posts helped, don't mind hitting the THANKS button.
