Got CyanogenMod 10.1.2 on my i9000 but want to go back to Darky 11 black edition because it's still the best fully loaded Rom for the i9000.
Tried the full wipe, and mounts, followed by flashing the DarkyRom, but it keeps failing and going back to Cyan.
How can I get Darky back please?
Hey
Did u take a backup of darky Rom?
Also what's the error u get?

What errors did you get ??? some screenshots would help....:good:
Didn't do a back up of Darky bacause I've tried a few Roms since then (GamerzRom was a recent one).
As for the error, it's not an error as such. I have the Darkys Rom zip and when I try to install it via Recovery, it starts "preparing" and then the phone reboots back to recovery.
Maybe I need to flash a stock rom via Odin and then go to Darky?

darky rom and cm10.1.2 have different memory partitions...old one and new....you need to flash stock 2.36 jvu via odin to change partitions then darky rom on the top of stock
Most important is that you tick repartition and that your rom is a full one (4 parts)

sorry forgot to tell you...after flashing stock 2.36 jvu via odin to change partitions, you also need to root that stock again(and to get cwm) before flashing darkys. how to flash stock via odin? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
I actually popped to phone in a draw and forgot about it.
Thank you for all the replies. Will give it a go on my next day off.
Thank again

I'm getting the following errors trying to install Darky's 9.3 rom from CW
I have tried wipe and no-wipe and get the same error all times.
I have wiped from CW and get the same error.
I have tried with voodoo enabled and disabled. I have tried downloading the install file from different computers and still get the same errors.
Error is:
E: can't chown/mod /system/bin/netconfig
failure at line 75
set_perm 0 3003 02753 system: bin/netconfig
Once this happens the phone is ****ed, it won't boot, so i flash back to darky 9.2 using odin. Try to upgrade to 9.3 straight away aftet the 9.2 flash and get the same errors above...
Can anyone assist please.
did you try other rom, or is it just darky?
Have you tried redownloading the rom?
EDIT: Sorry, just reread your post.... What model of phone is it?

Yep downloaded it a few times, using different computers as well.
Its an I9000 Aussie model.
I'm hoping for an odin version on 9.3 to see if that works.
Is there anything else i can try? Perhaps going back to a stock firmware, then flashing to darky's would be an idea.... or perhaps try doc's rom?
I would go to stock and then flash 9.3 with wipe
it seem that no one else have the same issue. try to
DISABLE ALL LAG FIX
re-flash Darky
you can try to flash DocRom indee,
I switch from Kitchen966 to Darky93 (+speedmod250Hz) since 2 days, both use JS5, I don't know why but I feel darky 93 is snappier and more stable than Kitchen966. (But it just 2 days of use)

Is the best way to flash back to stock to disable voodoo then flash with Odin?

Done this numerous times. Voodoo lagfix is what i run and it always fails when its disabled or enabled.

Yes and i prefer to tick repartition with a bad rom and clean everything .
Then build yourself a rom that works .

same as my problem. already flash back to stock but still cannot resolved the problem. hope to find a way to upgrade to darky rom again
are you able to ssh in to the phone and set the permissions yourself?
Noob question but I can't find a definitive answer from the search and want to be absolutely sure.
I'm currently on CM9 nightly builds but I'm finding it a little laggy if I do not reboot regularly and have been curious to test out the DMORE gingerbread ROM
What is the best way to do this?
Am I right in thinking that I can flash CF-Root with Odin now and then flash DMORE with cwm after that?
Do I tick repartition in ODIN?
Ta v much
Hi , you are already rooted so no need to flash new cf root.....in the op of cm9 it says that going back to gingerbread(cm7) will need flashing twice , so you could just put the new rom on your internal sd then flash it twice without reboot inbetween , after wipe of course.

Ah, so I don't even need to bother with ODIN, thats good.
Cheers
EDIT: Even though in the OP of the DMORE rom it says I must already be on Gingerbread just doing two flashes will get around this?
I would probably take the safe option and downgrade to gingerbread ....but the 2 flash method should do the trick , worst that could happen would be having to go back stock through odin anyway

Just tried to flash dmore then and got a 'installation aborted' message :\
Should I flash GB in Odin first?
Yes , flash a stock Samsung gb firmware ...was worth a try.

No need to flash a full rom just flash cf-root with odin without reboot.when flashed, pull out battery.boot to recovery using 3 button combo.factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik and flash d-more.reboot.
I come back to gingerbred from the onecomisc rom one month ago, I just erased everything andput back the old bootloader before flashing gingerbread stock
Everything seems fine. 2.3.6 seems nice!
I had recently flashed Gamerz Rom from ICS ROM. I flashed Midnight GB kernel over it. Now when I am trying to flash back ICS ROM, phone always boots into Recovery. I tried flashing different ICS ROMs, still it always boots into Recovery.
I don't know what to do.?
Try all three wipes...
If that doesnt work flash ur phone with stock firmware if u can go into download mode....
If my post helped, dont mind pressing the thanks button
Nopes
I always do all 3 wipes.
And yeah I am considering to flash the stock ROM, but am trying my best to avoid all those steps.
I m afraid but u have to go on stock first..
If my post helped, dont mind pressing the thanks button
This "trick" is actually using if you go from gb to ics. I recommend you flash cyanogenmod 7.2 (2.3.7 GB), than go for cyanogen mod 9.0(for ics), than reflash any other ics you prefer.
cheers
I had the same issue two days ago.
I flashed GB 3 Part Firmware with Odin.
I booted into downloadmode, flashed cF-root kernel, reboot to recovery and then flashed Devil Kernel already.
I flashed it, because i wanted to flash from external sdcard. That devil kernel flash was the problem. Copy latest CM9 nightly on internal sdcard, and flash it from gb kernel recovery. While flashing process it should Reboot and continue the flashingprocess. Hope you understand, what i wanted to say ^^
Hope i could solve your Problem

Dear all.. please help! I was originally from the official CM10 nightly, but I found it was too slow. So I decided to revert back to Gingerbread AOSP (Cyanogenmod Future 7.2)
1) I installed as per normal, from CWM recovery, flash ROM, flash GAPPS, wipe data, cache and dalvik. I managed to enter until the ROM setup screen, where I was supposed to click on the Android logo, but everytime I did that, it always showed error with setup wizard..
2) So I went back to ROM installation instructions and saw that I was supposed to format system in CWM recovery. I did exactly that, but afterwards it was downhill.. i could not even go past the bootlogo (the galaxy tab 7 logo)...
3) afterwards I tried using format sdcard from CWM recovery, no change.
4) I tried to flash stock p1000 rom by ODIN, with repartition UNCHECKED --- it looked hopeful, i went past the SGT7 boot logo into the samsung logo.. but it was stuck there..
5) I tried flasing stock p1000 rom by ODIN, this time with repartition CHECKED --- no change...
I would really appreciate it someone could help me how I could recover my phone. When I flashed the stock samsung ROM, i lost CWM recovery also.. now I am on default recovery from Samsung.
Please help! Thanks a lot...
Use overcome method. See my signature.
Download the PDF guide and follow to the letter from page 7 to use Odin to restock.
The flash overcome kernel to get CWM, don't need to flash Overcome ROM itself.
Flash your CM7 instead.

Priyana, thanks a lot! I will try your method. Do you think should I try the CM7 beta or cyanogen to 7.2 the future? I wonder why using either one, I could not get pass the Android setup screen.
Thx!

Here is what I did with the phone:
- Flashed JVU via odin
- Flashed CF-Root with CWM via odin
- Wipe EVERYTHING
- Flashed semaphore kernel for 4.3 via CWM
- Rebooted to CWM
- Flashed CM 10.2 stable via CWM
- Flashed semaphore again
- Flashed gapps
And now the phone keeps rebooting to CWM everytime I power it on. It never goes to Android, it always boots to CWM. Any ideas?
Of course, i tried to flash CM / semaphore / gapps again but it keeps doing the same. Flashing only CM does not work either

What do you mean exactly? ;_;
By the way it seems to work after flashing a samsung stock ROM but it does the same everytime I try to install CM. And I have done it before, I don't understand this ;_; (I decided to start over again because I was having trouble to downgrade from 4.4)
Have you find a solution? I faced the same problem and after reading half of the day on this forum I managed to find a solution to go back to stock and restore the phone functionality. Now I only have to flash CWM/TWRP and start to flash custom ROMs again
Let me know if you still need help.
The correct procedure to come to any ROM is from GB>ICS>JB>KK. So make sure that you are following the correct procedure
