I'm new to sgs and android,so hopefully this is a noob problem and easily fixed and not something more complex.I've searched and read alot of posts and not found another problem similar,so maybe someone can help.
Got the phone recently and flashed Darkys v7.0 and very impressed by the rom.
Basically my incoming calls dont show up,when an incoming call happens,i get a vibrate and some sort of notification flashes on the screen for an instant then disappears, then my network signal drops out.
I've tried another sim and different service provider, same problem which indicates some issue with phone, have triple checked all my settings in call settings, answering is enabled.
I can make calls, sent and recieve sms messages and connect to net/mail via my 3g,so cant figure out whats going on.Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Gav
Hi!
Unfortunately, same thing here with me. First, I flashed 7,5 and the problem appeared. This mornig I put new rom 7.6 but still problem remains. Everything works, but incoming calls dont. Im trying to capture message that flashes quickly, but with no sucess...
SOLVED!!!
Factory reset did the thing. Calls are incoming as they should. (setings->privacy->factory reset)
Hope it will work for you.
Greetings from Croatia
Hey i have tried this and have possibly bricked my phone as all im getting is the Galaxy power up screen and nothing else, tried to get into recovery and nothing,ah well my android fun maybe over, might just get an iphone, seems a bit simpler for a knuckledragger like me
I really doubt that factory reset coud brick phone. Try to boot in recovery/download mode with 3button combination (hope you have it) and flash new ROM.

try to flash speedmod recovery on your phone, do the most recent stable version, once you get into recovery you can see if it truly is bricked, if you get the common SD error then it is bricked but if it's complaining about some data missing your still in luck.
check out what to do here....i posted about this a while back also if you want to look at my past posts.....

I had exactly the same problem; installed Darkys 7.5 after which I couldn't receive any calls anymore, did a factory reset and got bricked. 3button to recovery didn't work on my phone, but luckily I live close to a Samsung service center where they reflashed my phone.
I am curious what was causing this. If it is solved I would like to try the rom again, cause it looked great.

Hey currently all im getting is the yellow triangle sign with the android logo cleaning up and it says ''Downloading'' and on the bottom it says ''Do not turn off target'' that just stays like that for hours and nothing
Now i never had the 3 way download button working or checked,i pretty much did CWM and flashed darkys right after buying the phone.
When i try to get into CWM all i get is the Samsung Galaxy S gt i9000 start up screen and nothing.
Thanks for your help
I have the same problem excecpt I flashed "leap in the dark". Will factory reset erase all my data? If so are there any other options

Hello everyone.
i had very weird situation yesterday.. i forgot my phone inside my car for few hours playing music, when i came back for him, his battery was dead and it was turned off.
when i charged him and turned him on, he started to vibrate for every app started and closing it automatically, including pro launcher and every possible common app, even the market.. all my data was erased, my phone numbers sms etc...
i tried to re boot the device by holding power, volume and home but it keep leading me to a yellow screen says "Downloading... don't turn off target"
I'm kinda newbie so be gentle =]
how do i get rid of this screen and flash new rom?
either after the reboot the market app disappear

soudns like you need to flash back to standard firmware with Odin.
the download screen is...well the download screen, holding those buttons does not reset the phone, it allows it to enter doanload mode.
try searching on here for a guid on how to flash standard firmware using odin. that sould sort it.

Have you not seen this all over the news ?? there is a crazed lunatic going around, stalking galaxy s users, waiting for his opportunity to sneakily wipe their phones without them knowing.. he is a man of mystery and is yet to be caught.....
YoU hAvE bEeN wArNeD !!!! BEWARE !!!
really
look i know there is those stickies but i have no clue where i should start and exactly i need to dd.. im reading those threads all day..
Kies is unable to update my firmware..
i disabled voodoo's lagfix through clockworkMod Recovery hoping that will work.
is that yellow screen says "downloading... do not turn off target" is normal?
why after i did reboot my Market disappear?
i lost in those stickies, anyone?

Thank you "jonpaslim" for your prompt reply.
Actually I didn't.
Because I'm worry about getting bricked by factory reset.
And also I'm not sure that I can do it the right way.

Im glad to help you. Thank you also.
this problem is called kernel wake lock.. you must downgrade to gb, do a full wipe then install a fresh ics via kies or odin, after booting up in ics go into your recovery mode holding volume up + home button + power key and clear your cache 4 time in a row this will solve your issue and maybe increase your battery life if you having any problem on ics related to battery backup
Hello Community,
I'm new here and hope you can help me even if it is only a little bit
So I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with stock rom 2.3.6, root rights and cwm flashed.
Before I did this I had some problems with my phone, e.g. if I hit (gently) the back side the phone turns off =/
My new at the moment real problem is that I cannot turn my phone on if I only use the battery. (onlly the Samsung logo appears for a short time)
I can only boot it if the phone is pluged into my computer. When it runs and the display turns off, the phone will go off also. (not instantly but atfter 2-5 minutes)
Does anyone knows something about such a problem?
Thanks for your help.

I can exclude the battery. I have tested two of them and I can be sure that both are well because they work in another Galaxy S I9000 without problem.
To flash a custom rom with plugged phone into computer will be tested tomorrow.

Good luck:good:But I would suggest to flash stock gb rom first just to make sure its not a software problem.
I remember @xsenman has mentioned a solution for this problem about two months ago..... I am sure he will write you soon here.
I had the same problem with my phone, it would reboot if i tapped the back of it, i found out it was a dodgy app i installed so i uninstalled a couple of apps i recently installed and it solve the problem.
So know I have tryed to flash with connected phone. I do not know whether it works because the phone won't boot the system, only recovery and bootloader.
In cause of this I have reflashed with Odin again. Now I get at reboot this screen:
image: s29.postimg.org/bu61r7md3/PZv_PCPk_Txs5a_Xl_G_z1a22_Odgumodl7_HN6v_Ksy3_Q5_MNPm_s.jpg
sry but i cannot post direct links =/
I understand what there is written but I don't know why, the only sdcard is my internal there is no external connected.
So there is a new problem and I would be glad about new ideas =\
(I tryed: reboot, wipes and reboot, wipes and new flashing (same problem))
@tetakpatak if my system boots again I would search for his post thank you
ok guys, i have a question for you. keep in mind that im new to the phone world lol. ok so a bout a month ago i wanted to unroot my phone but for some reason the tar files on sammobile wasnt working right. so i came on here and downloaded what i believed to be the file that i needed to go back to stock. after i used odin and the phone rebooted it automatically notified me that i had a update. after i accepted the update and it rebooted, it again notified me that i have yet another update. so after this happened i noticed that my phone was updated to 4.4.4 kitkat which would be great exept for the fact that it keeps freezing and when i am on wifi i have a problem getting phone calls aswell as text messages. also when i disconnect from wifi i have to restart the phone to get any data back. is there anything that i can do? is it possible to go back to 4.3 or even 4.2.2? any help would be very much appreciated.
