Moto FM Radio - Motorola Droid Bionic

I had this MotoFMRadio App working on ICS, then after they gave us JB I did a wipe on my phone and came up in stock OTA 4.1.2. I go to install this app from the apk and hit install and it starts then I get "Install not completed". Is Verizon blocking this or do I got some kind of version mismatch. I tried install both with app installer and Googles verified intaller option.. both same result. treid both apk the signed and I guess its a non-signed. idk. neither work. I would like FM radio again.
Why doesnt some manufacturer (qualcomm, TI, Moto whoever) make these things to receive OTA HD radio signals also, its wonderful to listen to and doesnt use data.

Search for spirit radio app..only thing that will work on bionic and jb I have found

Can't use G. Maps Navigation after Cyanogen upgrade!

All, I am still running 4.2.5 on rooted Magic. I tried upgrading a while back but found that I had to re-flash the Navigation piece i downloaded here. For some reason it is still failing to show up, even after clearing cache and rebooting.
Am I missing something. The instability of 4.2.5 is starting to get to me...
Thanks
Why not upgrade to 4.2.12.2?
Also if you're in the US you can download the Google Maps update to get navigation without flashing anything.

Because I loose Navigation. The idea was to re-flash after updates but hasn't worked for me. My phone is rooted, I can't download Google Maps from the market.
if your phone is rooted the market should still work just fine... I run CyanMod 4.2.12.2 on my MyTouch fine, after my last flash i popped up market and updated google maps. Nav works great (you'll need the svox stuff for the voice commands but it'll walk u through that)
I had the same problem. On mine I had to download a newer 1.6 base, flash that, then flash Cyano's latest and greatest. There was something different about the older zip that would mess everything up. the filename is DRC83_base_defanged.zip Hope this helps.
did the same as above, the old 1.6 will not allow you to instal the new google maps

In order to use Google Nav, here's what you need to do, if this doesn't work then, I don't know, re-root or something.
I'm assuming your using a Mytouch (32B), but if not go here and follow the directions for 32A
1. Download the HTC Android 1.6 base image - here
2. Then download the latest CyanogenMod - Here
3. Then after backing up your SD and then wiping everything from it, put those two zip files on your SD, then flash them - being sure to flash DRC83_base_defranged first, then flash the CyanogenMod.
4. Go to the market and download the Maps update in the market. Also you'll need to install all the tts and voice stuff that goes along with Maps after you open it.
If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure.
Same for me. I was pretty bummed when I rooted and realized I had no access to Labs for Google Maps.
Solution was just to go to the market and get the update for Maps. Now everything is right in the world again.

[Q] Acer liquid E ..Flashing questions, Please help

Hi,
I have an Acer Liquid E from Rogers Canada
I just used a Rom Flashing Guide from another site ... MoDaCo...
It required : ADB, fastboot, Malez Recovery, However it did not require a .bin flashing
so i ended up with a Rooted LCR 1.8 rom... which is great but i didn't get a chance to do the Titanium Backup of my stock apps..but i did however do the "Nandroid backup"....
So is Nandroid Backup sufficient to get my rom back to stock so i can send to repair?
On my stock rom... Google Maps worked for a bit...then kept on "force closing" ...and on this rom its the samething...so is this a common problem?
If i want to try another rom now.... how do i flash the necessary bin ?
Thank you!
I think for some reason Google Maps force closes if you are on wifi but not connected to a hotspot (common problem in all recent 2.1 Liquid bins). Could this possibly be the problem?
Sent from my Liquid using XDA App
And I think current roms work on any Eclair bin. Not 100% sure though.
But to flash, download the Acer Download Tool (you can find it on the instructional wiki in LCR Google Code page) download the .bin file and follow the first half of the instructions on that wiki.

Oh I think you're right.. i guess i wasn't connected to a hotpspot b4....just tried it.. Google Map works!!! but it shudn't FC just like that!! on my Vibrant i dont get that!
About flashing: So If i flashed a bin right now, with LCR 1.8 ...it shouldn't be a problem?
Thanks for your fast replies!!!
Honestly, I've seen (or heard of) this problem on all official Acer bins (I have tried .39 and .63, have had it on both).
So flashing a new bin would not make much of a difference (though it would change your baseband). If you want you can, but it isn't necessary.
I had a similar problem on my Acer Liquid E - Rogers Wireless.
When I first opened google maps, it alerted me that an update was available for this application. So I opened the update and learned that the update provided google's voice enabled turn by turn navigation. So I installed the update. After that, evertime I opened google maps I got the error message:
Process com.google.android.maps stopped unexpectedly. Force close?
So I uninstalled the update and the error messages went away. Re-installed the update and they returned.
That's when I noticed that Rogers had also installed something called RogersNav on my Liquid E. I tried it and it just went to a web page that said "coming soon". It also turned out to be a paid subscription app.
A call to Rogers customer service confirmed by suspicions. "We don't support that application (google navigation) on Android. In other words, we disabled it so that you would subscribe to our crappy RogersNav service.
None of the pre-installed (and un-removable) Rogers apps were of any utility to me, so I proceeded to root the phone, install the community LCR_1.8 image and .... presto google maps with turn by turn navigation and voice directions works!
Not only that, but now I can uninstall all the other crap like urMusic, urFooze, RogersNav, Rogers My Account, urShopping, etc. (actually I didn't have to uninstall them because they are not included in the stock image).
The only thing I lost that I might want at some point is Documents2Go Lite (which I backed up so that I can re-install if I choose).

Newest OTA installation aborted

Hello all. I have the VZW dev edition of the moto x with an unlocked bootloader. I am trying to update my Moto X to the latest OTA from 4.4.2 but am running into an issue.
I flashed stock recovery and downloaded the latest OTA. When flashing the OTA zip in stock recovery, the installation aborts due to a problem with vznavigator.apk. It says "/system/app/vznavigator.apk" has unexptected contents. Installation aborted.
I am guessing my vznavigator.apk is messed up for some reason. Does anyone have the stock version they can give me so I can try to get past this error? Any other tricks?
Thanks
You can always get it from the Google Play Store.
Or perform the OTA update manually.
I already tried getting from play store. Doesn't work. I don't think the play store version places vznavigator.apk in the system/apps folder.
Regarding updating manually, this is what I am doing... Flashing manually in recovery.

You could try using mfastboot to flash the system.img from 4.4.2 to fix any inconsistencies in system. Then try the update again.
On the phone... go App Drawer -> Settings -> Apps. Swipe to get to ALL. Scroll DOwn to VZ Navigator and tap it. Hit the button to uninstall updates.
Then try the OTA again.

I don't think disabled or non-updated apps matter. When I did my update I did reflash /system but all my apps stayed disabled when I was up and running on 4.4.4.
I also did updates on my Razr Maxx that was rooted and while I didn't flash /system, I did undo any changes I had made to it and took standard OTA without re-enabling apps that were disabled.
I'm guessing VZNav was removed or otherwise modified with a method that wasn't the stock disable option.
Flashing /system should work. I don't think installing from the Play Store will because it would be a user app, not a system app.
Just my thoughts.
Reflashing the system.img worked perfectly! Thanks guys!

Disabled and non-updated doesn't matter.. UPDATED might. Hence why I suggested to uninstall the updates.
My thinking was that it is possible that Verizon had updated VZNav AFTER they approved the 4.4.4 update (so the update is looking for a checksum of an older version).
Yes, flashing system will always work. I just usually suggest the simple things first (I have a longer list on the pages in my signature), and with the amount of people that are flashing the WRONG system.img and other components (i.e. not paying attention and using the ROM for the carrier, model and version phone they have), and those who don't realize the difference between mfastboot and fastboot, I've been hesitant to suggest flashing system.img until other things have been tried.

Xposed Framework On Stock 5.0.2 L90 D415

Have anyone succesfully got Xposed Framework running on stock 5.0.2 L90 D415??
I think you have to get a new recovery (twrp) in order to install xposed and then install the rom again.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I flashed the zip file, wiped cache, and reboot. My phone booted up but i got com.android.phone force closing. Weather app also force closes. And since com.android.phone force closes you get no signal.
My experience...did the lollipop ota for tmo, didn't really care for it much. Used one click root, added flashify and twrp custom recovery and did a nandroid backup. Installed xposed arm zip and it just stuck on the lg logo for quite a long time. Second attempt i did the wipe after installing xposed and it made it past lg logo to tmo boot and hung up. In my reading, saw something about xposed will not work on stock firmware. But isn't xposed for people that want to mod stock roms? Main thing is...back up before anything. Have already used mine 4 times.
So I originally flashed the latest xposedv66 and was not successful. Found xposed-arm-20150213b.zip everything looked good, even had signal. Like you, weather app stopped. So, I tried file manager to get to the installer and it stopped also..
If you're going to do it, BACK UP BEFORE YOU INSTALL. I cannot get it to work, reason why? I do not have the logs but if you install liveboot and activate it, then install the zip and reboot, liveboot will show you a command that is supposed to activate but fails and retries. Its essentially a bootloop but without the reboot. It will not allow you to boot without that feature being activated. Do it for yourself but remember to back up all system partitions and restore them. When you reboot after restore, the system will do the whole 'optimizing apps 1 out of 200' thing so don't worry if it takes a while to boot. Will have more on this when I get home to my laptop.

I tried the one you suggested and I successfully rebooted. However, Lollipop ran slower and then I opened the alpha apk that came on the official thread. It said alpha 3.0 was installed but not activated. So I just decided to restore to before I installed. Xposed is being worked on and its in its alpha stage. Its bound to have bugs. Since THE D415 already has root, I'm fine to wait for an official version of Xposed that works to come out. Also, Even though I had 2 Gigs of data left on internal, there was a notification pestering me saying there was little to no storage left on my phone. Otherwise, no app crashes.

Flashing the ROM again will only wipe/remove xposed.
It's a known fact that lg weather doesnt work on xposed lollipop i also found that file manager didnt work during my period of testing, i don't know if i experienced com.android.phone force closing since I restored from my backup but xposed is definitely not usable on stock lollipop.

There are newer versions of xposed that fix compatibility issues with LG's encrypted apps (weather, etc) since my post, so they should work with the newer versions of xposed. I only recommended version v68 because I never really use LG apps so I went ahead with such an update. Hope this helps!
Xposed for visually impaired users
Hi, everyone!
I'm visually impaired and I've been "adapting" and customizing my stuff (for a better, more comfortable usability) since 1998 (for Win and Mac) and 2010 for mobile devices, with great success.
I could install the Xposed framework to my Galaxy Tab 3 running KK 4.4.2 (Serbian Stock) back in 2012. But I cannot find a way to install it to my LG L90 D410 running Lollipop 5.0.2.
The option for those specific brands and models in based on the need for good cost-benefit ratio pieces of equipment, so that anyone can benefit from my findings, even those running on a low budget.
I'm preparing a podcast and an YouTube channel on accessibility.
All that put, I'd appreciate any input on how to make the Xposed framework to work on the LG L90. Suggestions o modules that can be useful for vision impaired people will be very welcome too.
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

X8 any use?

I have an X8 which I have not used since 2014. I thought by installing an Android 4.4 custom rom that I would be able to install newer apps but I have tried numerous apks which wont install. The custom rom has an old version of play store which wont download anything, I tried updating it with a newer version but just get the message that the app is already installed. I also tried installing some apks with flashtool and for some get the message "install failed older sdk". Is the phone just too old to work with any reasonably modern app versions?
