[Q] Stylus and Sim Card Question - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I found an Elago stylus on Amazon and I was wondering if I can use it with the HTC One? Since I'm a new user here, I can't post links. The stylus I'm referring to is titled elago Stylus Slim for iPhone, iPad and Galaxy. There's no mention of HTC so I want to know if I can use it regardless.
I'm coming from iPhone 5, and as you may know the iPhone 5 uses a nano sim card. I read in one of the discussions here that I can use my nano sim card in the HTC One by using a nano to micro sim adapter. I searched on Amazon and I found Nano to Micro/Normal SIM Card Adapter for Apple iPhone 5 4S 4G 3GS 3G. Can someone please let me know if this will work?
Thanks in advance!

question about rom to get phone functioning

just wondering:
can all android devices with a sim card slot be hacked to have the phone function, for ex, the acer iconia a500? or is it only certain 7 inch android tabs such as samsung galaxy tab 7?

bit of a strange question... an iPad can have a SIM but cannot be hacked to have a phone function (no mic for one). It is clear that it is possible to build an Android device with a SIM, but not all the hardware required for a phone to work. The Acer A500 certainly looks like it would have what is needed...

[Q] Best Micro sim card adapter/ cutter to buy for Bionic

Hi all,
I am buying an ipad and want to use the bionic sim card in both devices (obviously not at the same time...)
While I am pretty sure that it will work, I would like to find out which sim card cutters/ adapters work the best to get the job done.
I will be moving the card back and forth pretty frequently so a good adapter is important. (all the amazon kits seem to really suck- being too thick, if anyone has experience with the noosy let me know.)
Do apple devices even use sim cards since they are not 4g? I dont know cause I despise apple products. Which ipad are you referring to...ipad 3?
The sim card isn't exclusive to the bionic, as all the LTE phones use it.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA
All verizon 4g phones have one of two sized sim cards, micro and regular which can be cut to micro.
Important to note is not all adapters will work with all phones, slight tolerance differences in thickness might make it work in some phones but not others. If available I would like to hear some success stories out there.
I used a French knife to cut my bionic SIM to fit my Gnex and a Swiss army knife to cut another old SIM to use as an adapter to put the now Micro sized SIM back in the Bionic.
I am a pastry chef and used to working with knives...it works perfectly!
I feel like a thread necromancer here, but in case anyone's still looking at this, I just got one of these delivered to me:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/stainl...adapters-for-apple-ipad-iphone-4-41275?item=6
The adapters are cheap plastic slips, but the cutter works great. I tested it on some old dead GSM SIMs I had just to see, before I used it on a live SIM. Worked perfectly each time. The edges end up a little rough, but a quick pass with a nail file or even just rubbing them takes that out.

I like this idea... interesting
Looks like Asus Padfone and I now that Padfone magick works good. But Active have a cover to protect USB port, and it will be a problem for conecting to tablet.
Agreed I would assume they would change the interface design to accommodate the usb cover. Like the port would flip out so you could plug in and flip the active into holding clips.
2 problems ... the galaxy s4 active is slightly bigger than the galaxy s4 , i wonder if the dock will still fit? also, the screen is 1200 x 800 , which is lower than the the s4's 1080p display ....
otherwise, fantastic idea, i know a few people who find that windows and mac pc's are too complicated for them, and the android OS would be perfect for them... its about time that phones realized their potential as computing platforms for the masses
I would buy this.
For up to $400. If it's GOOD.
I love hardware keys. I hate onscreen keyboards.
I want this. Well, really I want an ASUS PadFone for Verizon but that will never happen because VZ sucks.
I've been looking for the sliding qwerty keyboard like the one they have for the regular s4 but no luck
News about it?
any update?
It will be available on March

The Website Q&A says that the tablet isn't compatible with the active, or the mini. But they were at least thinking about us.

Is the compatibility issue anything more than if an S4A fits or not?
If the size of the slot is the only compatibility, it might be close enough to fit the S4A with some minor modification.
id never use that, my opinion. yet it is a nice idea, but the ubuntu phone is a little more advanced

The website's reason was the size differences. So, might still work.

[Q] Trying to decide on getting Nexus 6 (Verizon)

So here I am trying to figure out if I should get the Nexus 6 on Verizon or if I should get the LG G3 instead. I got to play around with the G3 for a good week and was very impressed with it compared to the Note 3 I currently use as my daily driver. Being that the Nexus 6 to me doesn't seem much bigger compared to the Note 2 (which I still have one) I'm not overly concerned about the size. So I'll throw out a few questions here and see perhaps if the Nexus 6 is a good fit for me based upon these few things...
1 - I noticed a lot of reviews (ie: Engadget, Android Police) mention the slow focus on video recording. Has this been fixed or improved on Lollipop 5.1 or at least on any custom ROMs/kernels at all?
2 - Is there any good methods or cases that could allow me to use an micro SD card on the Nexus 6 as of yet? I tried to Google search and only really saw one Kickstarter project but maybe I'm over looking something. I am aware of Meenova but sadly that lacks the ability to have that in use while charging the Nexus 6 at the same time.
Thanks so much in advance for any info on these two questions I have so far.
The N6 is a fantastic phone. I haven't regretted buying it at all. Can't compare to the G3 though, since I've never held one in my hand.
About your questions:
1 - Can't really answer, I seldom use the video recorder.
2 - You can use Meenova and charge at the same time if you use qi-charging.
I played with the Nexus at a Verizon store yesterday and I liked it. Just waiting on my cases to show up before I get two (there's no way my wife can have a phone without it being covered in body armor). I was also bummed about no sd but a couple of guys on here told me about meenova and I have two on the way as well. Then again after seeing the specs on the S6, they could be trying to make micro sd's extinct too. It's really a tough choice for you as I don't know much about the G3 other than on Big Red it's either a G3 or a Nexus if you want root and rom flashing. My post probably doesn't help much but I liked what I saw from the phone in the store.
Is the meenova the only adaptor that will work with the nexus? I have a pqi micro sd card reader that is about the same size. And it works with other androids and you can plug it into a regular USB slot too.

Have you tested this? The only reason I ask is the Nexus 5 will not qi charge if OTG is in use. I'm curious as to whether this is different on the N6

It's not the only one that works, it was just recommended to me by a couple of posters since I didn't have one at all.
Here's a review for the Sandisk one and a few others are talked about as well...http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/review-sandisk-ultra-dual-usb-otg-drive-t2983372

Nope... I won't be testing this after all. Can't figure out what I've done with my USB OTG. If I find it I'll give it a go.

Can the S Pen be used on a standard Galaxy Tab A?

My girlfriend got me the standard Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7" for Xmas & bought the S Pen separately. The store where she bought it misled her & told her it was compatible with the standard model. The Tab A that comes with the S Pen wasn't on sale at this store & I can't return it as the security seal has been broken.
The S Pen doesn't work with my Tab A but I was wondering if there is a hack or apk that would make it work. I have read that the S Pen is a Wacom device & requires a Wacom display but the tablet I have is pretty much identical to the S Pen model so it may be possible.
If not, which precision stylus would you recommend?

There are numerous pens out there for sale that work on all smart devices. A few to mention are Travelocity and Polaroid. Only $5 at Big Lot stores.

For anyone wondering, the answer was probably "No". The device that comes with the S Pen has hardware to interact with it. If it didn't come with an S Pen, it doesn't have the internal hardware to work with the S Pen.
