Might as well get started by making an official thread for the Motorola Software Upgrade page. I will be checking this page on a daily basis, so as soon as any official updates are posted you will be sure that this thread will be updated also.

Update changelog: (newest updates at the top)
-----
October 1, 2012: Motorola has updated their page today, however there do not seem to be any noticeable changes made from the previous update.
September 29, 2012: Still no update on the Atrix HD front. However, Motorola has officially cancelled the ICS OTA update for the Atrix 4G, Photon 4G, and Electrify. These devices will remain on Gingerbread. A message from Punit Soni, the new software lead at Motorola, further details this decision:
Motorola Mobility continues to review how each device can deliver the very best experience possible, and at times, this can mean making tough choices – especially as it relates to Android software upgrades. Today, we need to let you know about some tough choices related to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades. Specifically, ATRIX 4G, Photon 4G and Electrify will not receive the ICS upgrade, but continue to be supported with maintenance releases to ensure optimum performance for the consumer.
We are committed to being more transparent than ever on our software upgrade strategy – even when we’re delivering news consumers may not want to hear. We are doing everything possible to continually improve our communication with you and make sure you are a satisfied customer. That’s why we recently announced our $100 rebate program for owners of these and other devices launched in 2011 and beyond that won’t get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This program starts in the U.S. this fall, and we are working to expand it to select regions around the world. Please watch for updates at motorola.com/tradeup.

September 22, 2012: The Atrix HD has not yet been added to the software upgrade chart yet. No sign of Jelly Bean for anything aside from the Wi-Fi XOOM. We already know it's coming to the RAZR M and HD, but that's the extent of it at the moment. Further devices will likely be added in the future, however. On a separate note, let us mourn with our fellow Atrix brethren (Atrix 4G owners only - as of September 25, Atrix 2 US owners now have the ICS soak test underway) who may end up not seeing an official OTA release for ICS - their upgrade plans have been changed to "Future plans coming soon."

Atrix 2 got official ICS few days ago. Only Atrix 4G which is still unknown.
I'm an ex-Atrix user. It's a shame if they can't keep their promise. Further plans can describe anything. I think they will skip ICS and leaping to JB.
Btw,Atrix HD should get JB in December.

The Atrix 2 ICS OTA that you are referring to did not happen in the US yet. The US version of the phone has yet to receive an official rollout from Motorola/AT&T. I realize that in other regions the phone has received its update.

Yeah..It's been available in some Asian countries. And it can be ported to custom ROM which can be used for all regions.
as long as the RAZR M series isnt on the list we're good... but if they add the M, HD MAXX, and not the atrix HD, we gotta make some serious noise

With powerful specs of Atrix HD,I'm pretty sure it won't be abandoned. JB is a must.

I believe Motorola said something about current phones getting jellybean and if they don't then they'll give you $100 to put towards one of the recently announced phones such as the razr m or something along those lines. I'll see if I can find the article. I'm going to say that the Atrix HD will be receiving the update, it's specs are more than capable and Motorola would be crazy to not do it, the Atrix series is pretty popular.
Edit:
Here's the article. http://androinica.com/2012/09/motor...ers/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews

Once they find anything useful for Razr M or Razr HD such as rooting or cwm,I believe it can be used on our Atrix HD as well.
Hi, is there any reason why on Razr i isnt yet any development, any custom ROM - especially Cyanogenmods...? Is it because of diferent proc.technology, or simply isnt this device interesting for developer, or need only wait?? Thanks!
I want to change my Razr for Razr i, but I'm afraid for the development of this phone. (for razr M is already Cyanogenmod and other custom roms, but "M" isnt for EU martket...
There's many reason, in 1st jelly bean will be update in the beginning of 2013 so why spend time to develop rom on ics while they will be ou of date in 1month? Second, it's only the 2nd phone with intel processor x86 and in 3rd the phone isn't LTE and not dvp for usa so i think it's a little bit out of date compare the new phone like the razr M for example.
But don't worry, in one month you can be sure that rom will be develop, just waitting for the JB update .
Ps: we have a custom rom named AMBP pro by papi92!

Yeah, Papi will give us some nice stuff to play, after JB is released. And I guess some ice cold Arctic Stuff will come, too

More like BatakangROM now
You can check it out on the RAZR HD and Atrix HD. Its jellybean and smooth as stock should have been. I love it but of course I made it to be tailored to my interests.

Hello all, just purchased a kindle fire hd 7 as I am after a cheap android (running)tablet mainly for work, so emails, web, diary etc. I was reading though the kindle fire section of xda and saw all the rom options as I want to run one of the jelly bean roms on a kindle. Then when I searched for kindle fire hd I realised that the two different kindles are very different! Can I run any jelly bean rom on my fire hd? I have been in the rom development section and there seems to only be one rom (CM10) and that is still in development but when I go to 'show us your home screen' thread there are loads of android 4.xxxx looking screens.
Can I put a JB rom on my fire HD? I'm not new to roms/rooting etc but am confused at the moment.

SensationAlex,
No, you can not install Jelly Bean on the Kindle HD yet. We are working on a custom ROM
for the Kindle and may release it in about 6 months - so far we are finding the Kindle to
be a real challenge. You bought the best one in the Kindle lineup. The Kindle Fire HD surpasses
most of the 7" tablets in quality and sound. Our company just bought a Nexus 10 and we
really enjoy the speed and the quality of the screen but the Kindle 7" is by far a better
sounding tablet. The Kindle HD Fire is the best sounding tablet, period. So if you love
to watch Movies, you bought the perfect tablet, if you want to do development, you
should get a Nexus 7. You will not like the sound on the Nexus 7", especially when
you have already been spoiled by the Kindle. If you like a challenge and have patience
keep the Kindle, it is top of the class 7". You can Root it, install a custom GUI, Install
Google Play, everything except a custom ROM.
Just been reading the kindle section of xda and have seen what people are doing, I have been using nova launcher for ages on my phone so will put that on my kindle and then with emails, browser and a few other apps I'll be happy. Can I use the stock email app with nova launcher? Or is there a different one?
I'm kind of glad there are no roms for it, will stop me messing about with roms each week!
Nova Launcher on Kindle Fire - Stock email app does work

SensationAlex,
Yes, I can relate, you and I are similar in that manor. I find the Kindle is the most stable tablet in the
office due to that fact. You can use the stock email app with Nova Launcher. As a matter of fact,
you loose nothing when installing Nova Launcher and gain a beautiful interface.

Ne0hacK,
We actually successfully loaded Jelly Bean on the Kindle Fire HD, it was very buggy and is not ready
for production use. We are about 6 months away from releasing the custom ROM for the Kindle
Fire HD 7" current rev 7.2.3. Hashcode released a custom recovery on 11/14/2012 named
Safestrap v3.05 Beta unfortunately this project is "On Hold". We are hoping Hashcode is
able to release a production version of Safestrap prior to our custom ROM. Only time
will tell.........
Now that the Moto X is getting a fact, and more and more is known about specs and prizes (http://www.thefullsignal.com/motoro...rola-x-moto-x-specs-price-release-date-rumors) I wonder:
1, will Moto give us also the 4.3 update (and if yes, when?)?
2, if no 4.3 update for the Razr-i: do you think it is worth to trade our beloved Razr i for a Moto X; pretty cheap, with the newest Android version, fancy sensors -but with a lower clock (benchmark?) speed than the Razr i?
Any ideas/ feelings about?
I think there will be no 4.3 for razr i. And about Moto X - I will wait until it´s available and well tested. I will not give up the advantages of my razr i like excellent signal reception and long standby. If the Moto X can do better (or at least equal), I will think again.

my motorola experience with updates is bad (i was a defy owner and only thanks cyanogenmod and quarx (the dev) i could realize updates to jb4.1 (cm10)).
mabe motorola will change this behaviour now because owned by google, but i don't believe it. i believe the razr i hardware can run jb4.3 and maybe even the future android 5, but my motorola experience makes me fear, that we will never see those updates.
Well I hope at the time when 4.3 is released. cyanogenmod will hopefully be available for the razr i :fingers-crossed:
+1
Any real custom rom would be great.

it does not depend on 4.3 but on porting CM to Intel-cpu.

Which brings up the next question :
Would the multi-core CPU of the Moto X beat our Medfield CPU in terms of speed, snappiness? As for me: fastest phone (Iphone/android) I ever had!
Why wouldn't they? Intel's got libs ready, Motorola is about to come back to life and this phone is not even a year old... It should be updated, and if it doesn't, they should at least release the libs so cm can do it. Now Motorola is owned by Google, things should change
If not 4.3 i'd be happy with 4.2
i know its not even out yet and it might not be out for awhile but i just cant help but wonder :]
Not officially.

Definitely not. Probably not even 4.3. At least not from Motorola anyways.

Ultimately there is going to be a point in development on a device that, when reached, will effectively mark the device as end of life. Community development and support generally goes on much longer than official support. Other factors such as network connectivity, processor speeds and memory can influence how long a device can be developed for. So far the Atrix has 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. In terms of Android this device has had a fairly good showing considering it is not a Nexus device. Many people are still waiting for Jellybean on their devices, so at this point the fact we have Jelly Bean and then some should be reason enough to be thankful for developers that have sacraficed their time for this device.
I don't think Key Lime is going to hit the Atrix, but if someone who plays developer in their spare time decides it is worth attempting it will be done. Keep in mind it will be an unofficial build and likely ported over from a device with similar specs, so not exactly a squeaky clean representation of what KLP would like on the Atrix HD.
